## Sling Reviews
  ### 1. Good but not great

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Veterinary | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 16, 2019

**What do you like best about Sling?**

I love that I have the option to see just my schedule for the week on the screen or can see who all I’m working with on certain days of the week

**What do you dislike about Sling?**

It crashes sometimes. If I try to switch from one view to another, or click through to a different week, approximately 25% of the time, it crashes

**What problems is Sling solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sling has allowed me to see when I’m working, what days I’m opening, what days I leave early, and what days we’ll be short staffed or what days people have already requested off. It allows me to easily access the schedule without having to consult our manager

  ### 2. "Sling" your way to work

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Food & Beverages | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2019

**What do you like best about Sling?**

I am thoroughly impressed by the easy accessibility and the user friendly interface of the application.

**What do you dislike about Sling?**

I don't dislike anything about this application.

**Recommendations to others considering Sling:**

Make sure you update your profile to get the most out of your experience!

**What problems is Sling solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am loving the notification setting that let's me know when my next shift is, in real time. It helps me keep track of my free time and also helps me coordinate my transition time.

  ### 3. Sling takes time to get used to, have had both good and bad experiences depending on use

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anja C. | Box Office Clerk, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 05, 2019

**What do you like best about Sling?**

Seeing the whole layout of the schedule including your availability, your shifts, shifts you can apply for, and shifts that have already been applied to but are maybe still available

**What do you dislike about Sling?**

The multiple tabs make for good organization but for me at least too time to get used to.The worst part about using it was just waiting on other users to apply for shifts so that we could see the full schedule sooner. In addition, availability could not be customized as well as I would have liked (it was set hour by hour so if you were free at 1:30 you'd have to set your availability to 2)

**Recommendations to others considering Sling:**

familiarize yourself with it before you really start using it

**What problems is Sling solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used this for scheduling and we found that it resulted in less people forgetting about shifts and that it was easier to assign people to shifts based on availability if no had applied for shift

  ### 4. Sling saves the day!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2019

**What do you like best about Sling?**

I love sling because I can easily request vacation and medical days! It makes the process incredibly easier. It is a must have.

**What do you dislike about Sling?**

The downside of sling is that if you have a detailed daily schedule, you will get a notification, even for your lunch break. I don’t think the amount of notifications are necessary.

**Recommendations to others considering Sling:**

I recommend truly considering Sling if you are looking to better organize your employees schedules!

**What problems is Sling solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sling has helped better organization daily shifts. It’s essentially solving employee schedules. The benefit is the organization that comes with it!

  ### 5. Sling Review

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Recreational Facilities and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2019

**What do you like best about Sling?**

Schedule and messaging all in one place.

**What do you dislike about Sling?**

No read receipts on group messages, so I need to ask my staff for a "thumbs up" emoji for confirmation. I'd also like to be able to call directly from app.

**What problems is Sling solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to talk to all of my staff at once, in an app I know they have to use because that's where their schedule is

  ### 6. Requesting time off is so easy!

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 24, 2019

**What do you like best about Sling?**

I love that sling has an app to download on your phone so that when I need to call out sick or for vacation it’s really simple to just open the app and request time off.

**What do you dislike about Sling?**

It can be confusing and not user friendly if someone doesn’t explain the rest of how eking works to you.

**What problems is Sling solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mostly scheduling conflicts for me and my team. It helped us get coverage for all of our clients and not miss a beat!

  ### 7. Really Good

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Restaurants | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2019

**What do you like best about Sling?**

I really like how I can see my shifts and it reminds me and sets an alarm for an hour before the shift starts.

**What do you dislike about Sling?**

Nothing. I really like using this app to see when I work

**What problems is Sling solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It’s really good that it prevents me from being late to work.

  ### 8. Good overview tool

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospitality | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 23, 2019

**What do you like best about Sling?**

I can view everyone that is currently scheduled with other coworkers and different locations.

**What do you dislike about Sling?**

The lack of ability to customize notifications.

**What problems is Sling solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being more organized with specific tasks based on shift types.

  ### 9. Awesome Workforce Management

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 04, 2019

**What do you like best about Sling?**

Sling has a simple interface that makes it easy for anyone to use.

**What do you dislike about Sling?**

Many of the features are hard to figure out, but once you get he hang of it, everything falls into place. For example, it’s difficult to figure out how to customize the calendar view to see only specific teams. But once you figure it out, it becomes natural.

**What problems is Sling solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sling makes it easy to solve team coverage issues. It’s easy to see how many people are working at one time. This is super beneficial for large corporations.

  ### 10. Scheduling / communication software

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Sling?**

I like that I can understand the current scheduling of employees at a glance. I also like the ability to sort my schedule view by "Employee name", "start time", "Position", "Location", "Group". Other features that make this software useful is the ability to send messages to individuals and newsfeeds to a whole group.

**What do you dislike about Sling?**

I do not like that this software lacks the ability to call the individual via the app or client interface. You cant easily trade shifts, they must be offered the shift. No Two way audio video calls.

**Recommendations to others considering Sling:**

Sling is most useful for organizations that have variable shift work that constantly changes. If you need a solution for communicate to all workers that a shift is open sling is a good solution. Might be more challanging if you have a large work force over 200.

**What problems is Sling solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sling helps with managing the constant fluctuation of available shifts and no-shows.

**What do you like best about Sling?**

IT is so easy to keep track of when I am scheduled, as well as put in time off requests and track my unavailability.

**What do you dislike about Sling?**

I don't like how messages on sling can take a few minutes to an hour to show up.

**Recommendations to others considering Sling:**

The color coding and job titles make it easy to organize employee schedules across locations and job positions. It is very helpful and can be updated daily to make sure everybody knows exactly where everyone else is, as well as when people are working.

**What problems is Sling solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We switched to Sling as a way to keep all of our employees connected across 8 different job sites, but under the same manager. Sling makes it easy to assign locations as well as offer up shifts that employees cannot work.

Only allowed on 1 screen at a time. Other than that, its great!

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Sling?**

It is easy to communicate schedules between various employees

**What do you dislike about Sling?**

A little complicated when trying to input needed time off

**What problems is Sling solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is easy to keep track of everyone’s availability

  ### 37. Glitchy and annoying

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Luxury Goods & Jewelry | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2017

**What do you like best about Sling?**

when using the computer version you can see what your hours for the week will be, but there is no way to clock in or out and see your punches.

It is fairly simple to accept new shifts and offer shifts to other employees, but you cannot trade shifts with someone you have to offer it to them and wait for them to accept so you can take theirs.

**What do you dislike about Sling?**

the phone app glitches all the time, it is either hard to load or crashes when it updates and you have to delete it and re-install. when it comes to message threads you cannot delete yourself from messages that a superior or anyone adds you to, you can only sometimes archive them. there is no way to turn off notifications for things like co-workers birthdays, which i really don't care about. when i deleted the app to stop receiving notifications it began texting me two hours before my shifts started, which there is no way to turn off or subscribe to such a service. If I had any choice to use any other software, I would, but this is the only place my schedule for work is posted now.

**Recommendations to others considering Sling:**

The benefit of sling as it is is there is little to no cost, if you are willing to spend though, When I Work is a much better app, with easier to use formats and a way to implement your schedule into your phone/google calendar instead of having to check the app all the time.

**What problems is Sling solving and how is that benefiting you?**

before we started using Sling we had our schedule done on a google spreadsheet, which took some time to load and quite some effort to read, and there was no way to update it when you would want to switch shifts with someone, you would just have to show up. There is a feature where you can access a contact book of co-workers numbers and e-mails, so you can contact them outside the app (as a number of us refuse to check the messages because of the hassle). And we have recently begun to utilize the newsletter function for general posts for the entire team, but there is no notification to tell you to read the board so you once again have to resort to messages.
