## Slate Reviews
  ### 1. Slate works like a dream!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jacqueline M. | Marketing Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 10, 2024

**What do you like best about Slate?**

Slate's captioning capabilities are AMAZING. Being able to caption our content with our brand's font and colors makes our content look polished and professional.

**What do you dislike about Slate?**

The only thing I can think of is a better way to search content and locate the type of design you want to use in the app.

**What problems is Slate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Slate is providing on-the-go graphic design solutions for our team to help us make sure our story content and other social content fits within brand standards.

  ### 2. Love the branding opportunities and seamless user interface

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zoe F. | Web & App Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 10, 2024

**What do you like best about Slate?**

I like being able to rapid-fire create and edit content using our pre-defined branding guidelines. Working across an entire organization with multiple team members all contributing content and templates is incredibly easy. The mobile app is easy to use at the touch of a finger. The desktop site is easy to use and upload assets to as well. Our account rep is an absolute dream and explains everything very clearly.

**What do you dislike about Slate?**

I have no negative feedback, Slate is one of my favorite tools I use and our account rep is absolutely fantastic.

**What problems is Slate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Slate solves my needing to submit a full creative request to our graphics department. I can edit content using our established brand guidelines and not risk publishing something completely off-brand.

  ### 3. Early Adopter Turned Loyalist

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Sports | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 13, 2024

**What do you like best about Slate?**

Slate, and everyone working there, have been great partners to the social and digital teams I have lead over the last 4 years. I have proudly brought them along to three professional sports teams as I have moved throughout the industry. Slate is consistently asking its customers for feedback on what tools and and resources would be most beneficial. Not only do they ask, but they listen - AND IMPLEMENT. From making social teams' jobs easier on game day, to becoming a 365-day tool, to providing exceptional customer support it's a no brainer to work with Slate!

**What do you dislike about Slate?**

It's not a dislike, it's a wish list! I would love to leverage slate for other digital creative needs (email, display ads, etc.)

**What problems is Slate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Empowering our social team to be content creators within brand guardrails. Slate features allow for efficient posting on game days, when time is of the essence. By putting tools in the social teams' hands, our creative group is now able to create high-impact, custom content reactive to game play, rather than updating pre-made templates!

  ### 4. Slate Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Slate?**

Slate makes in-game content very easy to shoot and post! We can store team logos, fonts, and colors all in one place, while being able to easily edit them into content we are taking on the spot. It also eases the process of keeping fans up to date on scores, by making editing easy on mobile devices. From a video standpoint, slate is great for longform content creation. The auto-generated closed captions are a huge staple to our video content, and it makes it easy to add to any video.

**What do you dislike about Slate?**

I initially had trouble uploading certain templates into Slate which was a bit frustrating, but I was able to hop on a call with a rep within the same day and get everything uploaded which was most important.

**What problems is Slate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Slate is helping ease the process of in-game content. There is a large amount of content all being pushed out within a 3 hour timeframe on a game day. Without Slate, content creators or social managers would have to constantly use photoshop to edit certain creative assets which is a much longer porcess when content needs to be published so quickly.

  ### 5. Slate, the key to our success

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ruben D. | Director, Social Content and Strategy, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

Slate is such a vital tool for us at the Portland Timbers and Thorns. With its easy interface and expert tools, we are able to turn content quickly to adequately tell our story to our audience. It's a vital tool that exceeds our expectations. 10/10.

**What do you dislike about Slate?**

There are no downsides other than occassional bug.

**What problems is Slate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us with our efficiency on match day and also helps us to limit our machine usage. Having slate cuts out having to lug around a laptop to create the things we do.

  ### 6. A Social Media Coordinators Best Friend

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Connor M. | Social Media Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2024

**What do you like best about Slate?**

I love the ability to keep the brand consistent across all channels and keep the workload low for graphic designers. Also, the ease of everything is amazing and encourages creative freedom across the board! Their customer service and content reps are also top-of-the-line. I find myself using it every single game and it's incredibly easy to integrate their content into our general flow.

**What do you dislike about Slate?**

Nothing really comes to mind about any negatives!

**What problems is Slate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Always expanding different ways to keep making social platform integration easy and awesome

  ### 7. Slate helps streamline workflow both in office and during events!

**Reviewed Date:** September 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Slate?**

I love being able to have all of my brand assets in one place on my phone so I can access it any time. We use Slate weekly to help tell the stories of our athletic events!

**What do you dislike about Slate?**

One of the only downsides is if you don't have a strong internet connection, it can be defficult to get the assets to load in the app.

**What problems is Slate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Slate allows us to fully intergate our brand into any piece of content we put out.

  ### 8. Slate Application Review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Slate?**

Slate is a great tool that allows us to create branded social media content, quickly, directly from our mobile devices. It has been a game-changer in content creation specifically for Instagram Stories.

**What do you dislike about Slate?**

As the product has grown, they have continued to add more features and tools. For our use though I feel a lot of these aren't neccesary and have made navigation in the app slightly more difficult sorting through features that are not needed.

**What problems is Slate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Slate allows us to create content that is consistent with our branded style, look and overall design. With a large social media team all on the account this tool allows for us to remain consistent in look from person-to-person.

  ### 9. Easy to use

**Reviewed Date:** September 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Slate?**

I have loved Slate so far! Having our fonts and brand colors is very helpful!

**What do you dislike about Slate?**

It is a bit frustrating that I can't lock certain elements so I can layer them, and it is also disappointing that the fonts don't update to recently used and I have to search through them all every time.

**What problems is Slate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is allowing me to stay on brand when it comes to fonts and overall look.

  ### 11. Great for building brand assets!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Slate?**

Slate is a great platform to create branded content in one place. It is quick and simple to use.

**What do you dislike about Slate?**

Some of the features could be easier to use. It also crashes while switching between apps to double check something and if I have a layout made, it forces me to restart to keep my posts consistent.

**What problems is Slate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows me to easily integrate our team's branding (fonts, logos, overlays, etc) onto photos and videos for our social media pages so that everything is cohesive and matches what was created by our designers on Photoshop.

  ### 12. Best and Worst of Slate

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bryce B. | Graphic Designer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 10, 2023

**What do you like best about Slate?**

I appreciate that Slate provides the opportunity to easily create on brand social content quickly. It has tremendously helped my teams workflow and output. It was easy to integrate into our existing systems as they accept .psd (photoshop) files. I find myself using slate weekly, and my use cases for slate continues to grow. This is partly because their extremely helpful customer support. Since it is a smaller company, we have a direct line to the entire team. And they will even impliment your feedback into the program quickly. Overall I absolutely love Slate.

**What do you dislike about Slate?**

One small downfall is there are capabilities that differ from the App to the Desktop. But luckily the app feels much more powerful, which is usually how I use the software.

**What problems is Slate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

An issue we had was giving our social team the tools to be creative with content creation, while being on brand, without having them learn complicated adobe programs. Now we've had our design team build out a great suite of content within Slate, giving our social team the ability to act on trends and current events quicker.

  ### 16. Content creation made easy.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dayton H. | Athletics Communications Graduate Assistant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Slate?**

I love how simplistic slate is and how it's really similar to utilizing the features on Instagram or Snapchat. It makes creating on-brand content super quick and easy and just makes our content look more cohesive overall. The support team at Slate has been so helpful and easy to work with and really pay attention to our program and what we are doing.

**What do you dislike about Slate?**

I don't like how specific the deminsions and sizing has to be when uploading audio files, PSD files, graphics, etc. Specifically with DPI which can create a much lower resolution. It makes it a lot more challenging for our graphic designer to build out templates when you have to create those PSDs in a certain way as well.

**What problems is Slate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Making on-brand content quickly. Not having to go back to my computer to create content has been such a lifesaver. I love that I can do it directly on my phone.

  ### 22. Slate is a Great Tool for Creatives

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Sports | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 13, 2023

**What do you like best about Slate?**

I think Slate has a lot of really cool capabilities and customization options for an organization. The options to customize text, colors, and fonts on social posts are huge in keeping a consistent brand image.

**What do you dislike about Slate?**

I think some of the tools on Slate could be a little bit more user friendly, especially the Templates feature. We've also had some trouble getting people who are not necessarily creatives by trade to hop on board and actually utilize the product.

**What problems is Slate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Slate lets us share templates and assets with people within and outside of our creative team in a much easier way. It allows our teams to create one-off, simple graphics in a quick and easy way, freeing up workloads for our design team.

**What do you dislike about Slate?**

Sometimes it can be confusing how to use a template that is editable. It can be challenging to modify template text without it getting misformatted.

**What problems is Slate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Slate is solving the problem of creating polished, on the go branding for Instagram stories. It saves us time and mental energy.

  ### 24. Slate is a non-designer Social Media Managers best friend.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chas T. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2023

**What do you like best about Slate?**

Slate has allowed our global organization to quickly and easily create and approve reactive social assets with ease. Even the less design-inclined were able to use it without a steep learning curve.

**What do you dislike about Slate?**

A young platform, Slate has some bugs that can make larger design tasks a bit of a challenge. The desktop application in particular leaves room for the most improvement.

**What problems is Slate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a Global organization with social media managers located all over, we struggled to maintain our brand design standards in our reactive social media content. We cover lots of live events in real-time and never found the right way to get everyone on the same page. Slate provided our social media managers with templates, filters, gifs, and creation tools all in one application that could easily be leveraged to create real-time content without the need for a designer.

  ### 25. I am a Social Media Manager that used Slate for a Women’s Clothing Boutique.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amanda A. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Slate?**

I like the convenience of having an app on your phone dedicated to elements and layouts for social media that coincide with your company's branding. It is very user friendly and made posting visually appealing graphics to Instagram very easy!

**What do you dislike about Slate?**

It is a costly investment and my company felt we could find a lot of similar features in Canva. While I do believe that to be true, Canva as a mobile app is not as friendly as Slate.

**What problems is Slate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My company updates our marketing elements every week to coincide with collection launch. Slate helped us keep weekly elements in one place!

  ### 26. Slate Is A Game Changer

I've used Slate for 5 years working in the NBA and international soccer. In the fast-paced world of sports, Slate is an absolute game changer in streamlining and optimizing content for various social media platforms.

**What do you dislike about Slate?**

Sometimes bulk uploading assets can take multiple tries via the web portal.

**What problems is Slate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Streamlining and optimization of content for various social media platforms.

  ### 27. Ease of Use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hailie S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Slate?**

With being so busy managing content, editing videos and publishing social posts- Slate makes editing video and graphic in an elevated brand voice so easy.

**What do you dislike about Slate?**

It lacks some functionality that more advanced software has. I want to be able to layer in graphics.

**What problems is Slate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have limited graphic designers and I lack photoshop skills!

  ### 28. Slate - Dolphins

**Reviewed Date:** October 13, 2023

**What do you like best about Slate?**

The number of available features, ease of use and ease of implementation have helped to increase our consistency across Instagram stories

**What do you dislike about Slate?**

Better integration with Instagram's safe zone margains would be preferable

**What problems is Slate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Slate has solved a problem around mantaining a consistent look and feel across our Instagram stories. That is now benefiting us by presenting our stories in a much more familiar way to our users on a regular basis

  ### 30. Slate is great for keeping brand standards consistant on social media!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Slate?**

Slate is great for a handful of reasons including helping teams stick with their brand standards while also allowing them to use specialty fonts, backgrounds, and stickers.

**What do you dislike about Slate?**

One downside of slate is that you have to create all filters online and then upload them onto your account. It would be cool if you could create filters on the app or if there were pregenerated filters that you could use your brand standards to autogenerate filters.

**What problems is Slate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

On instagram stories it helps us keep our brand standards by allowing us to use our font and colors.

  ### 31. Slate helps simplifi everyday life for a social media manager

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** October 10, 2023

**What do you like best about Slate?**

**What do you dislike about Slate?**

Honestly there is nothing that can improve this product

**What problems is Slate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

it allows us to create content quickly.

  ### 32. Great Program, but could use some more features

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Addison F. | Social Media Intern, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 12, 2023

**What do you like best about Slate?**

The ability to swap between the mobile app and the computer website is what makes this app shine the most. Being able to easily create a filter or template from my computer and then upload it for mobile usage is super useful especially when trying to create content on the go, or with a fast flip time.

**What do you dislike about Slate?**

The app could be a bit more convenient. Requiring items to be an exactly a certain size and ppi can be frustrating, especially when ppi will automatically be adjusted on most apps. The stability of both the site and app is questionable as well. Having to manually save everything has to be the biggest downfall of Slate, and often times, me and my crew found that even when we did manually save, the program would not save our changes when refreshed. There absolutely needs to be an autosave feature. The ability to create filters in Slate is also very clunky and needs a fair bit of work, although I think it is currently still in beta.

**What problems is Slate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Slate has created a program that allows people that aren't creatives to post things with custom filters and backgrounds on social media just by using their phone. This is super beneficial because not only does the app result in faster turn times for live social media content, but also allows those who do not know how Photoshop or Canva works to easily go in an add a quick photo to post. Without this app, most content would probably be uploaded to a computer, dragged into a Photoshop template, exported through a Google Drive, and then uploaded through a phone.

In addition to this, the border guides for social media are extremely helping in understanding what will and will not show on Instagram pages, etc.

**Official Response from Eric Stark:**

> Thank you so much for the detailed and productive feedback. We brought up this review during our product feedback meeting with myself, our CEO and our product team to discuss. Here are some specifics related to your feedback:

1. Ppi/sizing of assets: We actually hadn't received this feedback before but it makes total sense. We're going to explore ways the platform can be more flexible to ingest assets of different sizes / resolutions and take more burden off the customer to size correctly.

2. Stability: This is always a top top top priority for us and something we track daily, especially since so many of our customers use us in real-time during high leverage events. We definitely would want to dig in with you on where you notice issues and get to the bottom of it because it's not something we hear often and not something we want to put on the back burner.

3. Auto-save: We totally agree this is a very necessary feature edition. We recently released the ability to save draft so when you refresh you can still access old draft, but its not automatic. Auto-saving comes next and it's moving high up the roadmap.

4. Filters: I believe you are referring to our new PSD templates feature which is in beta. You are correct it's still in testing phase, but we're making improvements to release it out of beta soon!

  ### 33. Slate is a great and interactive tool that makes streamlining content creation incredibly easy.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Sports | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 12, 2023

**What do you like best about Slate?**

I love the versatility of the app as well as uploading to the desktop / web version. It's incredibly easy to use after you figure out where everything is located.

**What do you dislike about Slate?**

Some formatting limitations make it a bit harder to use when trying to customize content for stories. I think there are other apps that Slate could use inspiration from, like Unfold, to create more options for content customization within the app.

**What problems is Slate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Slate has helped us to streamline the look and feel of our IG stories across all of our regional brands for UFC, which is incredibly helpful. Since we recently went through a brand refresh for UFC as a whole, using Slate has helped to further establish the initiatives from our brand team on a broader scale. We didn't use to have a standard for each regional social team regarding IG stories, but now Slate has allowed us to do that.

  ### 34. Slate has been nothing but excellent.

**What problems is Slate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Slate makes content creation a breeze for me.

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Slate?**

Simplicity, functionality, and live event coverage.

**What do you dislike about Slate?**

Cost can be a dealbreaker, but worth it. You NEED a graphic designer on staff that can turn around content quickly. Wish there was the ability to layer multiple pieces of media. Wish there were folders for content to organize within each account. Wish there was more startup content ready for us. Wish it synced with SharePoint for media.

**What problems is Slate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to keep our brand consistent for all sports. Be faster and simple for coaches and students to use rather than experts. Creating more sponsored inventory on social media.

  ### 50. Slate has been an integral part of making our day-today content needs seamless

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Sports | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Slate?**

The best part about using Slate is how user-friendly it is. No matter what the creative or design skill level is of the user, Slate makes it easy to create branded assets quickly and efficiently. Slate is always adapting to new social media features as well.

**What do you dislike about Slate?**

The only downside we experience would have to relate to the desktop asset management portal. Occasionally it glitches out or takes a while to process or navigate when there are ton of files. The app and platform itself works great for us though and we find all the features useful.

**What problems is Slate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Slate gives us more flexibility among our content team. Slate is much easier to navigate for team members who may not be ask comfortable using the Adobe Creative Cloud apps, are familiar with social-based features.
