## Sketch Reviews
  ### 1. Easy and intuitive software to convert your ideas into real websites and apps screens

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Virginia I. | User Experience Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 02, 2020

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

How intuitive and easy it is to use compared to older design software. Anyone can learn. The amount of functionality it has and being able to connect it to so many other apps/software

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

I think the plugins are one of the less intuitive and confusing features, could because it is constantly updating. Also, not having a cloud base collaboration feature to be ablet o version and work with others.

**Recommendations to others considering Sketch:**

It is very easy to use the basics, it is worth it to put time into it and effort to learn all the great things this software can do. One thing I have been learning is shortcuts, it cuts your design time by half.

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to visualize an idea in minutes, which helps me show my work and get things done by convincing stakeholders etc. I think one of the biggest problems solved is time as you can quickly iterate.

  ### 2. Sketch is falling behind

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Diego C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

When we switch to sketch was a great moment because we used a really complicated tool (fireworks) Sketch brings us simplicity in some parts of the interface and the easy way of design for screens.

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

The integration of cloud and prototypes, in the past, using sketch we needed to pay for invision and also for ¨abstract¨ to make the handoff of design and even the way to have the way to the only source of truth of or files so just to have a great loop with sketch we needed to pay around 6k 7k yearly.

Also, sketch becomes a bit complicated, creating complex Symbols, and the contains of them some times was very annoying.

**Recommendations to others considering Sketch:**

sketch is a good tool to design but I´m not sure if I recommended it, sometimes slow my computer and was very annoying.

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Best Design files
- low learning curve
- We as a Product Design Team learned how to make Design Systems using Sketch
- Symbols become the most important things to have in our designs
- Plugins helped us a lot to export and upload to platforms as Invision or Abstract
- Easy way to export files
- Easy way to create Artboards

  ### 3. Great simple tool for prototyping and layout

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Megan W. | UI/UX Designer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2020

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

It's much easier to pick up and learn than Adobe products (compare to Adobe XD), and I like that it's an application (not a web app, like InVision Studio) so you don't rely on internet connectivity to work effectively. It has everything you need for prototyping, graphic design, and even a bit of simple illustration. It has great customize-ability with keyboard shortcuts, toolbar placement, libraries, and a whole bunch of plugins that accomplish specific tasks for you more easily. The user base is great and responsive, so if you need help or want to know how to do something, chances are someone's already asked or there's a plugin for it.

The price is excellent, with one flat purchase price and then optional yearly upgrade prices (less than the original price) if you want the latest and greatest version. For some people, this is probably so much better than a forced monthly subscription or commitment, especially if you just need it for small things occasionally (and can get away with using an older version that still functions well).

The team at Sketch releases updates frequently, and seems to listen to their users for what features we want. If Sketch doesn't do something you need it to right now, chances are it will be able to do that thing soon.

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

The updates sometimes are a little bug-riddled - usually there will be another followup update for something that breaks the app or is immediately annoying / worse for users (so at least they recognize when it was a bad update) - so usually I don't update until a few weeks/months go by, to make sure they've got it fully sorted out. Mildly annoying to keep dismissing the update popup, when that happens.

If you are working with a large file, Sketch does start to run slow: zooming in and out gets glitchy, making a lot of actions in a row gets delayed (like copy/pasting, undo/redo), and saving takes a moment. You'll start to notice the slow down after just a dozen or so mockup screens (or if you have a lot of photos embedded in there, that bloats the size of the file).

**Recommendations to others considering Sketch:**

Definitely look into syncing with InVision for sharing your prototypes with a large team. Otherwise, Sketch does have some good export plugins available (worth looking into those as well to make sure they have what you need).

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am a UX designer, so Sketch is necessary for my work to create mockups and prototypes. Sketch is much faster and easier than previous software that our company used (Keynote) and is still better than something more complex (Adobe XD). I definitely save myself time by using Sketch over the alternatives.

  ### 4. Flexible and customizable design platform!!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kamilah K. | Senior UX Designer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2020

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

I love how it can be used for many types of projects from wireframing, to prototyping to journey mapping. I use it everyday and it is hands down still my favorite design platform. It is so flexible as you can add plugins to streamline your work flow. I have been using Sketch since I started designing years ago and it has always been my go to.

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

It can take time to get used to and learning for the first time. It is also really difficult to make circle graphs and edit them. It can be frustrating to have to edit a circle graph.

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it to design at work to make prototypes & wireframes of our new solutions and products. It is also so helpful that you can connect directly to Invision with the craft plugin so it makes it so easy to share with devs and POs and get feedback.

  ### 5. Best tool for UI design

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anton K. | UXD, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2020

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

- Fast tool for UI design
- Big list of plugins
- Atomic approach to building UI

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

- It is available for MAC users only.
- issue with plugins updates.

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Sketch for prototyping and UI design.

  ### 6. Versatile design tool for UX designers

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 02, 2020

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

Sketch has been around for years now and during that time has shown the direction what a highly efficient UX/UI design tool should be like. Invision Studio and Adobe XD were both heavily influenced by the approach chosen by Sketch but are still far behind it.
Sketch is continuously improving how to make design more productive which make me confident in investing my time in the product. Recent improvements, such as Smart Layouts, Custom Data, and Assistants are great examples of that. Free 3rd party plugins have been fundamental to make Sketch such a success, but their importance has become less important as Sketch has added more and more features in the core product. There are still many integrations which do things better than Sketch, such as Abstract for version control.
For my needs, vector editing is sufficiently powerful enough for producing the UI graphics I need.
Combination of Symbols, Layer Styles, Text Styles, and Libraries has proven to be quite powerful, yet flexible for building a design system for larger teams. UI component libraries for iOS and Material Design make it easy to to get started quickly and produce high quality mockups.

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

- Occasional bugs which have broken my design files and caused extra work
- Very limited UI transitions available for prototyping
- Not good enough for a full design handoff yet (I'm using other product at the moment for that)
- Very limited pixel image editing

**Recommendations to others considering Sketch:**

Plan ahead your basic UI elements, layer styles (typical used for defining colours in the design system) and text styles and avoid creating more unless you have to.

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating detailed, high fidelity UI mockups quickly as part of the design spec.
Helps maintaining visual consistency of design and supports producing company wide design systems.

  ### 7. Sketch for an Engineer

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Manoj Kumar G. | Project Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2020

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

Can be designed and drawn as we dream and can be shown to others or cleint with ease

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

More easier 3D optionals to be introduced

**Recommendations to others considering Sketch:**

Can be tried by one individual inorder to know the benefits of easy usage

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can work my project sketches and presentation to my client

  ### 8. A beautiful platform which is not so cool anymore.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yashwanth K. | User Experience Designer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 09, 2020

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

The interface is really user-friendly. I like the components making feature. The layer selection controls are really handy.
Pixel perfection towards creating images.
Single payment life time purchase helps freelancers and students to learn on this tool more easily.

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

Sketch is not available on windows os.
Prototyping feature is satisfactory and doesn't have a great impact on my work. I hardly use it and i prefer using framer over sketch for prototyping.

**Recommendations to others considering Sketch:**

If you are a learner and want to get to ui/ux design, get this tool. You dont have to shell out money for annual subscriptions and just buy this tool one time and use it for a lifetime. But you will get updates for the tool only for one uear from thentimenof subscription.

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I design and build ui dashboards, websites and beautiful design elements. Sketch helped him lift of my design career and helped me learn new design solutions.
I learnt how to use artboards, maintain a design system, folloe design guidelines and keep things consistent.
I liked how sketch has provided a cloud service to save and use sketch files across various devices.
The plugins market is still very small and needs more work.

  ### 9. Sketch, great in the beginning, but wish there were more capabilities

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Graphic Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2020

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

Sketch offers great capabilities for UI design for multiple device sizes. It is vector, so you can export svgs seamlessly and it integrates really well with Zeplin.

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

It seems to need plugins to do many things, like animate prototypes, plot automatically resizable buttons, etc. I wish it had more innate capabilities, as it takes time and effort to research so many plugins and make sure they work well. I wish there was an easier way to plot a table as well (seems like the only way is manually draw each cell).

**Recommendations to others considering Sketch:**

Not as robust as you might think, check out other options first! (Figma)

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to seamlessly communicate css styles with the dev team through its integration with Zeplin. I am able to manage many UI components with symbols.

  ### 10. Sketch review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Inaki G. | Campaign Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 04, 2020

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

The typical character features, text types and colors may obviously be worn in conjunction, making it so easy to make considerable changes with Indesign, it's really simple to make modifications to a lot of components at once, as with paragraphs and character types.

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

Apart from the price, I cannot think of anything I do not like. The application is excellent and I believe it is getting better. The development team has done a fantastic job.

**Recommendations to others considering Sketch:**

We suggest you check out the tutorial to be acquainted with the application before downloading it. It truly takes a bit of time to get along with the program, but when you do it, it is an incredible feeling.

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

An overview of the way the item appears, just how it moves from one side to the other, where all of the state buttons are actually suggested, etc. This provides the staff a holistic view of what the item will be like.

  ### 11. A vector graphics editor for MacOS.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shelby A. | Senior Graphic & Web Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 03, 2020

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

Despite being a new software, it has an overwhelming growing community with numerous free resources, extensions and plugins. Its development team is so creative and hardworking. Every new update eradicates a number of bugs thus improving the software rapidly. Sketch is not tied to an existing product and can grow in any direction unlike adobe products which are tied to each other.

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

Being a new product in market, there often appear bugs. to overcome this problem, numerous updates are sent to fix the bugs. Sketch slows down the speed of the processor to a great extent. Plugins are good but sketch’s core product relies on plugins which is its major drawback.

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has the ability to handle pixel-friendly and vector-based files. Its multiple export options enable the designers mock at every level of design.

  ### 12. Hesitant Fan

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 18, 2017

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

I really like how clear the image is when mocking things up. When you save out at different sizes, they are always clear

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

I dislike some of the clicking habits. I am used to using photoshop, so get thrown off when in another program

**Recommendations to others considering Sketch:**

There are a lot of tutorials to be watched, so definitely look into those

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am creating emails to be sent out to our customers.

  ### 13. Really nice, but to high price

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2021

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

Design and plugins help to work faster..

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

I think price to high and now you could easily find smth cheaper.

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Desing problems

  ### 14. Industry recognized Product Design Tool for 2019

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Semiconductors | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 10, 2020

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

Sketch is an industry recognized Product Design Tool for 2019
Having worked both in Singapore and SF Bay Area, my experience is that I've used Sketch for companies in both countries so it was easy to continue using Sketch even after switching companies.
Integration with other third party software like Zeplin is great and easy to use, especially when its well-known.
As I'm familiar with using Sketch the controls come natural and I use Zeplin to hand-off to development.
In the development space, Sketch is also recognized as the main design tool and have no issues navigating the software to collaborate.

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

Bug and Lag
Sketch is often buggy when the file size gets too large, many a times the screen would just freeze in the view port and I'll have to restart the software not knowing if it is auto-saved.

Version control
If a co-worker works on a sketch file in a more updated version, and sent it to us, it would open as per usual yet all the components will be misaligned and in weird sizes. A quick fix would probably be a pop-up to tell the user that this is different version and link to an update, but that was not my experience.

Not a prototyping tool
The preview feature is often buggy where the preview pop-up does not show the actual size the designer has chosen for the artboard. Many a times I have chosen a desktop sized screen eg 1650px and it would turn up as a tiny mobile sized preview screen. In this case I cannot use Sketch as a prototyping tool.
Adobe XD does a better job on this feature where it looks like a webpage and shows the right size.

User Experience
Some features are very hidden, for a new user it is hard to find out how to export assets (not artboards), as it is located on the right bottom most panel of the screen. A first time user would not know where to look when this is a primary and common action to export images and assets created on Sketch.

**Recommendations to others considering Sketch:**

Sketch is still an industry recognized tool but with Figma catching up very closely

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Sketch in my organization day-to-day for product design

solves design problems, wireframing, product definition and discussions

  ### 15. UI master software

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rúbrio N. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 08, 2020

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

Ease of use with a clear interface.
Able to create symbols and styles, improving the design process.
Libraries that can be shared throughout projects/files.
Rulers, snap and measurement options based on a pixel grid making all design more precise.
Good amount of exporting options (various formats and device resolutions).

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

SVG import and export limitations (gradients and complex shapes can have unexpected results).
Compound path limitations making it hard to design complex shapes.

**Recommendations to others considering Sketch:**

Sketch is accessible, taking into account its price, usability and amount of functionalities.
Perfect to those who are starting their career as UI/UX Designers, but also very complete for more advanced users.
It is the top software for UI/UX.

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Designing interfaces for multiple devices/platforms.
Save time on editing.
Collaborate with team members.

  ### 16. Great design software at a reasonable price point

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jacob H. | Senior Software Engineer (SDE2), Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 25, 2020

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

Sketch is easy to use and very intuitive for anyone with experience in UI design. Scoping of elements in symbols is useful and makes building out features in components convenient from a developers perspective and UI elements reusable across a document.

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

No integrated CSS exporting feature like Figma does for example. However, this can be achieved through integration with Zeplin.

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Design of UI elements and wireframing of applications

  ### 17. Fantastic design app, but limited

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 07, 2021

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

Sketch is really a easy to use design tool. It has lot of features included.

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

As I said it’s limited to apple products. So apple users can only use the design tool.

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The software is light weight, so there is no lag while using the software. Collaboration using Sketch is nice!

  ### 18. Easy to use designer tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 12, 2020

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

Sketch Provides a range of easy to use tool to design your creatives. Perfect tool for users with the graphic design background and for those without. Sketch is a great choice for the marketers who work in a small team and allow them to design posts, banners, images etc.

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

It would be great if sketch could add CM and MM to size the picture next to the px sizes.

**Recommendations to others considering Sketch:**

Once you start using tool - you can create a different folders and organise your work, e.g.open one window and name it e.g. ”Blog hero” - In this folder you can create each image user the different tab. In that way you can keep all the images and come back to them if they need to be improved.

Also for each creative I would always save the .svg version of the image. Again this would help you to update the image with ease if needed.

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- flexible tool slowing you to create great creatives for your website use
- great tool to create drafts - design mockups
- it helps to create images for gifts

  ### 19. Sketch

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Admir K. | UX Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

Symbols,Cloud, Layers, Preview, Plugins,

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

It's slower then Figma, and it's missing animations

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

UI Design

  ### 20. Sketch Pros and Cons

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2020

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

User experience and Prototyping are the best part of using the sketch. With the new Sketch cloud prototyping, it becomes easy to share prototypes with developers.

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

Unable to import files from other platforms like Figma and XD

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The major problem which I have resolved is prototyping. With the release of the sketch cloud, it becomes easier to share a prototype with stakeholders and receive feedback from them.

  ### 21. The de facto standard for a reason!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2020

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

Sketch is simply incredible. It's the best piece of software I've ever worked with. It's intuitive, complete, and completely substitutes a lot of other programs i've used before in just one easy to use and powerful UI. I design websites, apps, mockups, wireframes, illustrations, logos and more with this, and it just gets the job done every single darn time!

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

There is nothing negative I could possibly say about sketch because this is simply incredible. Every update brings major new features that revolutionize the way we think about digital design and this is just a designers' dream come true: a software company that not only delivers what we want, but also what we didn't know we needed.

**Recommendations to others considering Sketch:**

Just use this! You will not regret a single minute after you make the change because this truly is a game changer in every sense!

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I design websites, apps, mockups, wireframes, illustrations, logos and more with this, and it just gets the job done every single darn time!

  ### 22. No better way to validate your proof of concept.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Electronics | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 26, 2018

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

I'm not an app developer, but when I was working on my idea, it was important to have something to show potential customers and investors. Enter Sketch. with their mockup templates, and with a somewhat fleshed out brand identity, I was able to create my vision of what the app *might* look like. This helped me get some initial traction to hire the development team needed to bring the app to reality.

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

I really don't like how it only works on Mac. This limitation set me back a bit on my timeline because I had to engage with someone who works primarily on a macbook, and eventually had to make the switch myself.

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mockups, Design iteration, Proof of concept, Validation

  ### 23. Best software for UI/UX Design, needs some fixes though.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Saurav P. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2019

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

The ease with which you can work around in Sketch, plus the developer community that's constantly making awesome plugins.
The new components feature helps in a way more better way now.
Drawing vectors is easier in some ways compared to some of the software.
Files are low in size which makes it easier to share.

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

Lack of collaboration and also how some updates make the app slow.
Real-time collaboration and prototyping is something that should be looked upon more extensively by the team at Sketch.

**Recommendations to others considering Sketch:**

One should go for it, there are competitors in the market but Sketch is doing all that it can and as soon as it can to beat the competitions and provide all the features that are lacking at the earliest.
It is a great software if you're considering to work around the interface of any mobile application or any website. The ease of drawing vectors also comes in quite handy.

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm solving the problem of providing the best shopping experience to the next million shoppers online.
Sketch provides the benefit of creating a really beautiful UI while keeping the experience for the users in check.
Sketch and its tools help a lot in being up to date with shift/trend in the UI Design.

  ### 24. Absolutely brilliant, although creating interactive prototypes is tedious

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Juan Carlos D. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 27, 2020

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

Regarding the design and components part, it is very flexible. I love the way Sketch handles components; they are very flexible, and it is the best program that manages them, as well as the color libraries.

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

It is not possible to create interactive prototypes with variables, actions, it would be great to be able to generate complex prototypes, I have to

**Recommendations to others considering Sketch:**

It covers all design needs but for prototypes you will need support from plugins or other software.

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is very flexible to create a system and apply it to all your designs.

  ### 25. So far the best UI and Wireframing design tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jordi L. | Senior Product Designer / Researcher / UX, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 25, 2020

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

Symbols, smart symbols allows you to design complex apps, or design systems without becoming crazy. Once you start using it, you can modify the source symbol and update all of a sudden. Sketch have a great third parties plugins to integrate with Zeplin, abstract or whatever you might use.

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

Then animation are very limited, you cannot add html snippets to create better one, they are working on it, by so far, you cannot make really interactive prototypes with just sketch.

Text styles maintenance still needs some improvements.

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

From wireframing, wireflows and final designs, I have designed both web, app a wearable apps. The learning curve is not bad, and the usage of svg and slicing is amazing when you have to handoff to developers.

  ### 28. Excels in prototyping, lacks collaboration features

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ramesh P. | Fullstack Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2019

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

Sketch is a well designed design tool that can make anyone into a user experience / user interface designers. It is used by most of my colleagues to designing user facing features and interfaces. It supports multiple export and import formats like JPEG, PNG, SVG, PDF and the native .sketch extension. It helps segregate and group components. However my favourite feature is the mobile app interface where the prototypes that are build with the help of sketch can be user tested on a real mobile phone. The creation and editing of vector graphics is a big plus that works in favour of sketch. Sketch lets me reuse multiple components. I never have to repeat myself with the liked group components feature, where if I make a change in one instance of a component, it gets reflected in all places where that particular component has been used. Overall sketch helps a newbie designer like me rub shoulders with the pro designers.

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

Sketch does not come with many inbuilt stock components that enable rapid prototyping. Users need to buy components for extra on top of paying for sketch, I would strongly recommend anyone that uses sketch to also invest in an icons pack. Sketch is way behind the competition when it comes to collaborative editing. The collaborative editing is a paid feature on top of the software licensing fee and it does not work seamlessly.

**Recommendations to others considering Sketch:**

Use Moqups if you want awesome collaborative features.

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sketch helps me build deep fidelity prototype that looks as close to the final product at the same time allowing me to make quick changes!

  ### 29. One of the most easy-to-use design apps available

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2020

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

It's very easy to use. You can bring in images and edit them without a hitch. Great for creating a user engagement path. I guess it's called prototyping for UI design. But I use it to map website viewer journeys. It's very easy to use, even for those without a design background.

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

There's not really much to dislike. I like the app.

**Recommendations to others considering Sketch:**

I'd recommend Sketch to those who wish to design their own stuff but don't have the skill set. I'm not sure how it fits in heavy-duty design use cases.

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm able to set up workflows between different webpages that I'm designing.

  ### 30. Awesome vector app with minimal learning curve.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joseph M. | Client Executive, Internet, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2019

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

Firstly, Sketch is simple. Really, really simple. It's possible to go from constructing slides, graphics, and diagrams in PowerPoint or Slides in a matter of hours, and endless integrations - e.g., invision, craft - extend Sketch to even the most advanced users.

Recently, Sketch implemented a 'data fill' tool, capable of using JSON data from a persistent data base - google sheets for example - to fill your designs, slides, etc with real text and data at ease. Laurel Ipsum no more!

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

Occasionally buggy, at times crashes.

At times, it can be hard to export from sketch into other programs, such as Adobe After Effects or Illustrator, as your layouts and vector settings will change. Whilst some extensions attempt to address this, an individual already heavily in the Adobe ecosystem would likely be better served remaining there.

**Recommendations to others considering Sketch:**

It's free to trial, give it a go!

If you already have extensive Adobe Illustrator, or similar, experience, then the simplicity and lightweight nature of sketch will likely impress you, filling a niche in your daily work as a result. However, if you're heavily invested into multiple Adobe workflows, sticking Sketch in the middle of these pipelines will only complicate things.

Even if your only experience of designing anything is via the production of some 'death by powerpoint' slides, you should still have a play. You'll surprise yourself!

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sketch allows me to make highly professional slides, pitch decks, diagrams, etc., on the fly using external data sources, templates, and custom resources. It's lightweight and versatile whilst also being far more powerful, easier to use, and successful in generating quality output than Powerpoint or Google Slides.

  ### 31. Sketch pairs well with other plugins

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Political Organization | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2020

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

I really enjoy the plugins feature. You can seamlessly upload all your UI screens to Invision and then there create a prototype.

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

I dislike that the actual application does not have prototyping tools so you dont have to export it.

**Recommendations to others considering Sketch:**

I would explore other similar software especially if you are a UX Designer. Every one has their reasons why they enjoy working with one more than the other.

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Great for designing UX screens especially when you need to create elements that all the screens will share.

Sketch is jam packed full of incredibly features for Designers from all walks!

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

Certain learning curves make it harder to switch from ADOBE products completely to sketch.

**Recommendations to others considering Sketch:**

Sketch is an incredible platform that is packed full of features as well as excellent plugins and opportunities for integration with other software. It has allowed me to create some great things within fractions of the time it has taken me in the past with other products. I really enjoy using Sketch. I would highly recommend that you use the trial version of sketch and compare and contrast it to what you currently use. You may find that it is 100% the choice for you!

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sketch allows me to solve issues such as the amount of time that it takes to get something ready for review/production.

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

Cloud libraries. The performance is very slow even with the fastest gpu.

**Recommendations to others considering Sketch:**

Determine if your team (ux/design/frontend/product) is meant to use it first based on internal workflows, otherwise it may not be suited for your needs.

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Problem: Product Design and Team Collaboration. The benefit is the symbol library, its instrumental in not doing duplicative work for ui components.

**Recommendations to others considering Sketch:**

There are a lot of tutorials online if you need more help using the software. I recommend Youtube for specific things.

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Sketch for any design needs I have- for my work I am often designing icons or one sheets, and I also just used it to layout a new apartment I am moving into to see how my furniture would fit.

  ### 36. Good product

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

It works fantastic in MACOS.

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

The vector drawing mode is not intuitive enough at first glance. It takes time to get used to it
When an element is in the artboard layer but it is placed outside the artboard canvas is hard to select.
We do have some users that cannot use Sketch because they have Microsoft environments, and Sketch is not available for windows.

**Recommendations to others considering Sketch:**

It is an essential tool for web/app designers. It has a lot of features that help your design to be applied nicely in real environments by developers.

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easing the design process and change control is key for us. You can reuse elements like buttons, text styles, etc... and the changes apply to every element.

The possibilities of the symbols that make your life so much painless.
That it has so many disponibility of extensions that elevate the app and can facilitate your workflow.

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

Maybe it could have more possibilities to make vector forms.
If it could be translated into other languages, it would be a plus.

**Recommendations to others considering Sketch:**

It's very easy to use and can help you in your business on the improvement of the designs of your clients.
The app has an easy learning curve, at the beginning can be difficult seeing it has many options, but it's extremely simple as soon as you soak a little in it.
The possibilities of the symbols that make your life so much painless.
If you are a student, the discount that Sketch offers is fantastic it allows you to have three years of actualizations.

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It gets me to create wireframes and interactions easily.
With some plugins or extensions, I can export presets and code, which is wonderful to create websites after, using that code.
I can imagine animations and bring them to life with other plugins.

  ### 38. Sketch is an alternate to Photoshop for web designs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Suraj D. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

Sketch is a great tool which let us make layouts for websites and web applications. This is a Mac only tool and comes with great library of various elements. The designs looks professional using Sketch.

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

The only downside is that the Sketch is only available for Mac operating system. It will be great to get the tool working on Linux and Windows sometime.

**Recommendations to others considering Sketch:**

Sketch is good to design graphics for the web. It can be used by anyone who has design skills.

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sketch is a great tool to design graphics and the web payouts. It has full capability to make designs for your website. Its good for any designer who is using Apple computers.

  ### 39. One of the best

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Murilo B. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2020

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

It is really easy to use and it is very light.

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

Doesn't have free version and collaboration

**Recommendations to others considering Sketch:**

If you have a digital interface, just change to Sketch. It is much better

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use to design digital interfaces

  ### 40. Leading tool for Designers

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ramla M. | Not for all roles, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2019

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

I like the ease of use. There's a bit of a learning curve but once you figure out the main features it's much more intuitive than learning the Adobe Suite. I use it daily in my work as a product designer. There's also a cloud sharing feature that allows for sharing clickable prototypes.

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

There's a lot of updates and sometimes it causes Sketch to lag or break some plug-ins. This is usually fixed quickly but it is a bit of an inconvenience when it comes up.

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating wireframes and hi-fi mocks. I like that I can save high resolution work and share it easily to stakeholders. I use it from the initial ideation phase to the end development, so throughout the entire design process.

  ### 41. Design with Sketch

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eltac P. | Marketing Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2019

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

What are Sketch Advantages?
Ready Artboards and Templates, Both Vector and Pixel Based Work Partnership. Easy to open. Grid property. Sketch 3 is a UI / UX design program created by Bohemian Coding and is currently used by many companies such as Apple, Facebook, Dropbox, Twitter, and others to design their own applications.

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

Sketch; It is not a program that can do all kinds of creative work like Photoshop. One of the most important criticisms I have brought about Sketch is that it does not work on multiple platforms.

**Recommendations to others considering Sketch:**

The sketch is much cheaper than all Adobe software, and is specially made for digital design and is a great choice for mobile and web designers.

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

You can easily make changes to the objects you create. For example, to change the radius value of a rounded rectangle, you don't need to delete it from scratch like Photoshop. You can export in multiple sizes and formats at one time.

  ### 42. Great, intuitive app for interface design

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aaron G. | Partner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2019

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

Hands down the symbol library/system. Being able to make design changes & updates that can quickly be applied throughout a document makes workflow move so much more efficiently. I would say a close second would be the intuitive interface. Sketch has its own set of shortcuts & tools, and while I've been conditioned to the Adobe way of things for years, I find it easy to figure out the interface & workflow. Last thing I love is the transparency/overlay effects available (multiply, screen, overlay, etc.). These aren't available in XD and played a huge role in our decision to switch to Sketch.

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

There are a couple of features in Adobe XD that I find missing in Sketch. The prototyping feature could be integrated more seamlessly. Being able to generate and share prototype links with clients is a huge advantage in XD. Adobe XD also has a really great "Repeat Grid" feature that makes things like eCommerce page mockups very easy. I'm also having a hard time getting comfortable with the plugin environment. I struggle to use the plugin library as a go-to resource for features not readily available in Sketch.

**Recommendations to others considering Sketch:**

Definitely worth the trial run. We had client proofs ready the same day we opened Sketch for the first time. Super intuitive.

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have moved all of our front-end web design work over to Sketch. We were previously using Adobe Photoshop and the difference we've seen in work efficiency is amazing. Layouts are generated quicker, changes are turned around faster. We feel more comfortable, free, and creative in the Sketch environment. We're willing to explore and experiment more knowing that making changes & updates can happen so smoothly.

  ### 43. One of the best Software for UI/UX Designer

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ronak K. B. | Lead Product Designer (Contract via Brewex), Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2019

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

The main thing that I like about Sketch is the Lightness of it in your MacBook or iMac, and speedy execution of control that you do. As a designer, a lot of things needed to be changed repeatedly and It provides us with certain plugins and in-app features to help you with that. also changing property of any shape and grouping them is a very easy task to be done. Exporting your designs is easier and exporting assets is a lot easier then any other software available in the market. Sketch cloud provides you to use the power of the sketch and allows designer to share and get feedback from your valuable client very easily.

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

I've been using this from 3 years now and I have noticed that a lot of other software is coming up with inbuilt interaction design options in prototyping panel, Sketch lacks the same they need to find a way to provide designers with those powerful interaction design tool along with the animations part so the users dont have to buy any other software and pay more for that thing.

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problem I solve with a sketch is of the overall app/web design flow, I can easily connect screens and arrange them in the hierarchy.

  ### 44. Helps newbies design like a pro

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amar S. | Marketing / Product head, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2019

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

High fidelity mockups are important for any product, it helps people prototype fast and ship software more efficiently. Creating these mockups on conventional tools like Photoshop can take long, but doing it with sketch takes far less time. It is a well designed tool and it can be picked up by even non designers quickly. We use this on a regular basis to design our landing pages and outbound email templates.

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

The price can be prohibitively expensive and Sketch is not available for Linux or Tablets. Also the ability to export to SVGs is finicky sometimes and the SVGs are not compatible with other tools like Canva. The app sometimes consumes a lot of memory and so running multiple apps at the same time would be hard.

**Recommendations to others considering Sketch:**

Adobe illustrator is another good option that is available for Windows and if you are tightly integrated with the adobe ecosystem, that would be a better choice than Sketch.

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sketch helps me to visualize interfaces before they are coded and implemented. It helps me identify UX issues even before they arise in the prototypes.

  ### 45. Great design software

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ivan d. | Pix! - Founder and iOS Developer, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2019

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

The ease of use is just amazing. I started using Sketch with 0 knowledge about design software and I just loved how easy it was to learn. The tools panel is not crowded like in other programs which may be overwhelming for beginners so that's a plus. Many of the controls are very intuitive and easy to understand and the possibilities are endless despite its simplicity.

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

It's pricing could be improved for solo or indie studios. Also the way they handle licenses could be better since after one year you stop receiving updates which may (and will) force you to purchase a new one in the future if you keep using the software. This may lead to a bad sentiment towards the "pay to have the best" features.

**Recommendations to others considering Sketch:**

It's great to learn solo but if you check few tutorials online you'll increase your productivity in no time once you realize all the features Sketch has to offer.

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I started using it for trivial problems such as resizing, exporting and converting files, changing and playing with layers, etc. After some time and almost without noticing I was already creating UX and UI prototypes for projects.

  ### 46. Magic for UX

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maya A. | Web Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2019

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

What I like most about working with Sketch is the ease and speed with which I can set up a web or mobile application interface, make the functional prototype, and test the functionality of my idea. It is easy to learn to use, and knowing how to build an interface well, you can save a lot of work exporting your design to HTML. Being able to use plugins for more advanced features and designs gives you a lot with Sketch.

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

There are only a couple of things that I dislike about Sketch: the price can be very high, not to mention paying to use some plugins, and that you can only use Sketch on Mac OS. Although you can use different software to open the .sketch files, it is not always fully compatible.

**Recommendations to others considering Sketch:**

If you work at a design company, suggest they obtain a volume license for the team; it will enhance their work and be more cost-effective. The personal license is pricier but definitely worth it for a freelance designer. For those new to Sketch, explore plugins to bring your most creative ideas to life, as most plugins offer free features.

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Among the things I've achieved with Sketch, I can mention that it has accelerated the UI creation process, allows me to test the UX of my projects before launching them, and avoids delays in production. It's perfect for implementing and presenting design ideas and use cases.

  ### 47. Sketch is top best art software I've used so far

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** crystal h. | Crystal hamlin, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2019

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

Sketch is wonderful it's got so many options to choose.. everything from textured background to a unique variety of tools and brushes u can even modify to ur likings.

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

I dislike the fact that if u accidentally exit the page without saving.. all is lost.

**Recommendations to others considering Sketch:**

Sketch is the way to go to full fill ur every art need.. not only is it adequate but it's user friendly and easy to figure out on ur own

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sketch allows me to provide a unique fabulous art piece to woo people with. Very hard to come across something that has so many tools to use and yet further customize for your every artistic need.

  ### 48. Sketch for UI

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dániel K. | Key Account Manager, Medical Devices, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

Easy to use and intuitive interface, the smart scaling feature and responsive design capabilities. Symbols make work easy as never before, client requests for changing elements or part of elements on all artboards are not a pain in the ass anymore, they can be done in seconds.
The output via InVision is great for designer and developer as well. They can export all the needed css/other codes and all the assets are there as well, in every format that is commonly used.

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

The regular updates are good, but more explanation would be useful about the current changes when upgraded. More and more plugins are available as well but if there would be an official recommendation of them or evaluation of the useful and the bad plugins, it would be great.

**Recommendations to others considering Sketch:**

At first: give it a try and you will love it.

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating UI interfaces from scratch or using templates. The benefits include the speed of completion, the flexibility and the output via InVision. Communication between client, designer and developer is made easier too as clients can comment on the design parts, request changes online. When these changes are made and approved, the developer can download all the assets and style codes that are needed for precise implementation. No need for cutting PSD files or slicing in Illustrator any more. Everything is scalable, the workflow of not only the designer but the whole project has been made easier.

  ### 49. If you're a UX/UI designer, don't work in anything but Sketch

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Caitlin B. | Graphic Designer, Marketing and Advertising, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2019

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

Sketch is a beautifully designed software that makes designing mobile-friendly webpages a breeze. Before Sketch, my team was designing for web and display in Photoshop. Photoshop has its purpose, but that isn't it. The quality differences are insane. The Sketch integration with Invision (specifically Craft Sync and DSM) is phenomenal and makes our workflow about 300x easier. I can't say enough good things.

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

The worst thing about sketch are the type settings. It's really hard to adjust your typography for mockups within sketch. For example, if you go to superscript a number at the end of a line of text. It superscripts the number in exactly the same size as the original text, just on a higher baseline. This makes for HUGE superscripts, which is really weird and not standard. You can always adjust the superscript itself, but this breaks Inspect in Invision and developers are only able to see the size of the superscripted text and not the line of text. Overall, I would like more features for type. Roman hanging punctuation and line level indentation would be great.

**Recommendations to others considering Sketch:**

Try it out! The tools are pretty intuitive, so it shouldn't be hard to implement it. Adobe has its place, but if you're in web/display/UX/UI, Sketch is the only option.

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sketch has made our workflow faster and more streamlined. We're able to collaborate effectively across all channels of our business, as well as with clients because of Sketch's integrations. Sketch is easy to use and produces high-quality files.

**What do you like best about Sketch?**

It's extensibility. It's been around in the product development space for years and thus it's been everyone's tool to make plugins for. To some, this may not actually be beneficial, but the community surrounding the product is what makes the product. It also has the advantage of no Adobe lock in. Sketch files are widely supported by every prototyping tool (and generally offer... you guessed it... plugins!).

**What do you dislike about Sketch?**

Honestly it's approach to 'symbol' management makes me queasy. It uses nested lists, rather than actual docked toolbars or palettes. It is baffling. Maddening. But yes the product is good enough for this to not annoy me as much as it should. For example, Adobe XD actually does this wonderfully.

**Recommendations to others considering Sketch:**

Figure out who you are handing off to and what resources they require. You're going to need a few plug-ins, but the community is great. Also the symbol (stencil) community is fantastic.

**What problems is Sketch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Getting from lo-fi prototype all the way to high fidelity mockups with assets. When used in conjunction with, say, Invision, you effectively have a simple workflow all the way to prototyping AND handoff. I hand off most of this work to my UXD these days, but when I need to - I can solve quickly.
