What do you like best about Simcenter STAR-CCM+?

The best part about STAR-CCM+ is its automation and workflow integration. The ability to link simulation steps with Java macros and the pipeline-based approach significantly improves efficiency. The meshing tools are excellent, offering polyhedral and trimmed cell options, which provide a good balance between accuracy and computational cost. What do you dislike about Simcenter STAR-CCM+?

While the tool is powerful, the initial learning curve can be steep for beginners, especially those coming from other CFD platforms. Also, it is quite resource-intensive, requiring high-performance computing hardware for larger simulations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Simcenter STAR-CCM+ solving and how is that benefiting you?

STAR-CCM+ is helping me simulate and analyze complex fluid flow and thermal problems in internal combustion engine components. These are multiphase and often transient problems that are difficult to solve analytically or through physical testing alone.

The biggest benefit is that I can virtually prototype and optimize component designs before manufacturing, which saves both time and cost. What do you like best about Simcenter STAR-CCM+?

The best part about star CCM+ is the Tree based approach and the access of 3D CAD cleanup , Meshing , Solver Setup and post processing all included in one window. This makes going back into a previous step and making changes very simple. In case a new physics or a new process needs to be evaluated , customer support is always available with quick response times. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Simcenter STAR-CCM+?

What is also a strength that makes it easy to use is also a weakness. Where the Cleanup, meshing, solver setup and post-processing are all included into one window under one license, if cleanup or meshing needs to be done on another project, an additional STAR CCM+ license would be then required. The Simulation Speed is very good good. I would like to create like in NX CAD a feature meshing template. For example of repeating geometry I would like to immediately have it meshed based on a template Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
