"Star CCM+ used for Tractor under hood & Components Thermal management"

What do you like best about Simcenter STAR-CCM+?

Star ccm+ was helped for many projects for tractor thermal management. Few projects are Tractor under hood thermal management, EV tractor PDU design like fan sizing, Battery thermal management for EV tractor. Star CCM+ GUI is good and easy to use. Tractor under hood thermal management with stage V Tractor norms in Europe and for keeping underhood temperature less than 80 degC to protect wiring harness system. "Simcenter STAR-CCM+ Combustion Analyses at Siemens Energy Large Gas Turbine"

What do you like best about Simcenter STAR-CCM+?

Simcenter STAR-CCM+ has helped the Combustion department at Siemens Energy standardize our analyses across our global organizations. We have CFD analysts in Canada, USA, UK, Sweden, Germany, India, and China. With all these different time zones, languages, and individual experiences, quality control is challenging. However, when we chose to use one CFD tool, Simcenter STAR-CCM+, we found that all our experiences and expertise could be leveraged into one process establishing best practices. The pre-processing and post-processing using Java macros has been the key method to implement our best practices where any engineer can communicate their results in consistent manner to our customers. What problems is Simcenter STAR-CCM+ solving and how is that benefiting you?

Simcenter STAR-CCM+ is used in analyzing ALL our Combustion products in the Siemens Energy portfolio. The analyses of our combustion products include steady state and time-accurate reacting flows with heat transfer and acoustics. Through these analyses, we can understand our designs and optimize them with the models and features within Simcenter. With the CAD integration to NX and Java macros, automation and time-savings are achieved. Quality is controlled through the Java macros where we share and improve out pre- and post-processing best practices. The Support Center is an integral part of using the tool correctly and the Knowledge Base articles keep one up to date in the best practices across the users. The software can be somewhat challenging to learn, and it may take a while to get the hang of it. However, once you do, it's definitely worthwhile.
