Great CFD Software **Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Hardware | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2018 **What do you like best about Simcenter STAR-CCM+?** StarCCM+ is very easy to use comparing ANSYS fluent, and it always gives you a reasonable result even if your boundary condition is not perfect. **What do you dislike about Simcenter STAR-CCM+?** The geometry preparation part can be improved better (especially considering that its competitor - ANSYS has acquired a CAD startup who is really good at geometry preparation). **Recommendations to others considering Simcenter STAR-CCM+:** Compare it to ANSYS Fluent and pick the best for yourself. Either one has its own advantages and disadvantages, Fluent is more popular and may get you a more accurate simulation result, but StarCCM+ is more user friendly and for most of times its simulation result is as good as Fluent. **What problems is Simcenter STAR-CCM+ solving and how is that benefiting you?** I was using StarCCM+ to solve fluid heat transfer problems for computer heat sink, it take less time to train a new engineer to use it than ANSYS Fluent, and it's easier to prepare geometry in StarCCM+ than ANSYS Design Modeler. It saves engineer's time to get a relatively accurate simulation result.
