What is Simba Embedded Analytics, and what problem is it built to solve?

Simba Embedded Analytics is used to add interactive dashboards, reports, and analytics to existing applications. It helps teams present data in a usable visual format and offer self-service reporting without building every reporting capability from scratch.

What customer support options does Simba Embedded Analytics provide, and how do users find the overall support experience?

Support is available through email/help desk and phone, alongside self-service resources such as a knowledge base and FAQs. The support experience can be helpful and responsive, particularly for implementation and technical questions, but users also describe slow responses and uneven resolution times.

Switching to Simba Embedded Analytics has helped teams replace constrained or aging reporting tools with more flexible dashboards, embedded analytics, and self-service reporting. Previous systems include legacy report writers and BI platforms such as SSRS, Power BI, Tableau, and Crystal Reports; users describe gaining more control over reporting and integration, though setup and learning the new environment can take effort.

What features or capabilities could make Simba Embedded Analytics even more useful?

Simba Embedded Analytics could be more useful with clearer guidance and a smoother experience for building and maintaining reports, especially for teams tackling more advanced use cases. Users also point to opportunities to improve:
  • Make documentation, examples, and training more detailed and easier to navigate.
  • Simplify complex workflows and make common tasks more intuitive.
  • Improve report and dashboard performance, particularly with large datasets.
  • Expand and refine reporting and visualization options, including more flexible formatting and interactions.

What do you like best about Simba Embedded Analytics?

The support is good and usually responsive. You don't have to be a javascript or coding expert to create fantastic visualizations out of the box. However, you can expand on the native functionality by javascript and C# code if you are so inclined. Very flexible and mostly intuitive to use. They actively add new features that are genuinely useful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Simba Embedded Analytics?

When getting into the visualization creation a bit deeper, you can find occasions where the visualizations do unexpected things. There is normally a very good reason for the actions, but it can be difficult to figure out without calling or emailing support. Because the product is so robust and feature rich, there is a semi-steep, yet short, learning curve for new users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Simba Embedded Analytics?

At every level, it is a pleasure to deal with Exago from CEO downwards, the team are helpful, accessible and knowledgeable. The communication is clear and frequent and the product is easy to use with an excellent support team. The product is continually evolving, very robust, and I would say best of class-based upon feedback from my customers and team of BI developers who have worked previously with a wide range of BI products. What do you dislike about Simba Embedded Analytics?

Nothing really, perhaps since covid the number of webinars has declined, which are very useful features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The embedded analytics is programmer centric and while easy to use is dependent on the availability and skill level of developers Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Simba Embedded Analytics?

Very easy to use especially for rapid development and great support. It also complements other development tools such as .Net to provide reports that take less time to develop and provides our customers a graphical representation of the data with drill downs to the raw data. They have made exporting graphs and data very easy for the developer and customer. Their support is amazing and I have yet to have a problem they could not solve. Most of my issues are solved within a day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Simba Embedded Analytics?

Having to deploy the entire engine for new application... needs a smaller foot print. Because we use the tool mostly for application development it would get great if you did not have to deploy the whole engine each time you deploy an application... you can circumvent this by creating projects for each department where we create multiple applications in the one deployment Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Cost effective analytics solution"
4/5
What do you like best about Simba Embedded Analytics?

The pricing for Logi is very attractive compared to the major players out there. We primarily use the report designer to provide scheduled PDF style reporting and aren't currently using any of the embedding options, but those seem more intuitive than some of the bursting functionality for email report generation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Simba Embedded Analytics?

If you are looking for a basic analytics tool, Logi does the trick. It doesn't have nearly the bells and whistles of a platform like Tableau or Looker. Getting started is a bit unintuitive between using the designer and the server functions. Support was good to start, then waivered while they went through an acquisition, and then solid again. The transition hampered some of our development time, but it seems they are back on track now. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Dundas Bi offers users great flexibility Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Simba Embedded Analytics?

The training for Dundas BI is fundamental and doesn't cover scripting. There's a lot that can be improved in this area. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Embedded BI with graphical and non-graphical options, but neither awesome"

What do you like best about Simba Embedded Analytics?

Logi Info uses XML-based text-files so it is easy enough to edit and copy them. Logi Info Self-Service Reporting Module (SSRM) is more visual and thus easier for non-tech staff to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Simba Embedded Analytics?

Besides the self-service module, the rest of Logi is neither intuitive nor graphical with a heavy basis on using XML files to specify report formats and functionality. The Logi Info editor requires you to really know what you want to do in Logi already and how you would lay it out. It's not intuitive, not user-friendly, and not welcoming to exploration. It is not a product you use to explore data but to simply add visualisations into web apps - but why wouldn't you use a more conventional / superior web app environment anyway, such as (e.g.) Visual Studio / ASP.NET ? Many things you want to achieve in Logi Info require you to rely on JavaScript or CSS. Support is only available in specific northern hemisphere timezones. Only one person is allowed access to the licensing section of DevNet. Not all products are loaded into the licensing portal. The self-service module itself is an app sitting on top of Logi Info and while it is a better option for non-technical folk, it's still slow, sub-performant and doesn't offer meta-data facilities out-of-the-box for ODBC-based data sources. 3.5/5
What do you like best about Simba Embedded Analytics?

Their API for the tool is excellent. There are so many customizations that can be done with it. Also, their support for Docker is great addition as it would be easier to deploy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Simba Embedded Analytics?

Some of the features are still in the early stages (Docker) and might not be working as expected. Documentation is also a weakness, especially that they have so many API's exposed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
