## About Sigma
Sigma is the AI runtime layer for analytics, agents, and apps built on live warehouse data. It is a cloud analytics and business intelligence platform that helps business and technical teams explore live data, build reports and applications, and deploy AI agents directly on a cloud data warehouse, using a familiar spreadsheet interface alongside SQL, Python, and AI. - Analytics: Use Sigma for classic business intelligence workloads like pixel-perfect reporting, embedded analytics, and self-service access to data in an Excel-like interface. Build with AI, spreadsheet functions, SQL, or Python. - Agents: Deploy AI agents that act on live data and run multi-step workflows. Build them with natural language and your choice of enterprise LLM or warehouse AI. - Apps: Build AI Apps for operational work like planning and forecasting, scenario modeling, and approval routing, with writeback and governance automatically configured. Every artifact in Sigma inherits the security, permissions, and row-level access already set in the cloud data warehouse. Because governance is enforced at the source, anything a team builds is IT-approved from the start. Sigma solves a persistent tradeoff in enterprise data work. Business teams typically wait on a central data team to build reports and tools, while ad hoc AI and app-building tools produce work that sits outside IT's control. Sigma removes that tradeoff by keeping analysis, reporting, applications, and agents on live warehouse data under one set of permissions, so non-technical users build what they need while IT keeps a single, auditable system of control. Founded in 2014, Sigma is a privately held company headquartered in San Francisco, with offices in New York, London, and Sydney. More than 2,000 companies trust Sigma, including DoorDash, Blackstone, JPMorgan Chase, and Figma. Sigma is the business intelligence partner of the year for both Snowflake (2023-2026) and Databricks (2025-2026).

 ### 4. Amazing dashboarding software, especially for real-time use cases and mobile

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dennis S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

We switched from Tableau to Sigma because its superior real-time dashboarding capabilities. It integrates well with both Databricks and PostGreSQL Databases (We use both on Azure but other clouds are supported). Additionally, it's easy to develop with and distribute to your end users. Lastly, the mobile development feature makes it easy to develop mobile as well as web applications.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

The only downside is that it has this annoying blue bar that runs across the top of each of your objects when it updates that you cannot hide. That's the biggest thing they can change to improve it. Other than that, it's excellent.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sigma helps us develop and deploy real-time dashboards to both the web and mobile devices. It lets our users track and monitor the stock market performance of our portfolio in near real-time, and also lets them see analytics they use to make trading decisions.

 ### 5. Easy to use and powerful

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Recreational Facilities and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2024

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

Very user friendly. It is easy to grasp how to the tool works which make value creation that mush easier.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

The interface does seem somewhat dated. Not necessarily as clean and up to date as other providers but the end result is not impacted.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creasting custom reprots for Customer Success team to use with custoemrs.

 ### 6. The best and possibly last BI tool you will ever need

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2023

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

We evaluated quite a few BI platforms before choosing Sigma. I also have used many of the bigger names in the space. There is nothing out there like Sigma when it comes to the ease of connecting to data sources, the ability to quickly generate fully functional dashboards in a fraction of the time it takes with other tools, the amount of powerful Excel like formulas at your fingertips, and the ability to write data back to the EDW without needing a DBA to create tables. You won't need to write SQL or Python within this tool. You could, but you probably won't. I normally prefer writing my own SQL, but with Sigma I don't miss it at all. You can perform joins and link tables with vlookup like functionality. Oh and it's very fast and can handle millions of rows of data with ease. Also their chat support is fantastic. Best all around BI tool on the market IMO.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

It's hard for me to find something I dislike, but I suppose their license model could be refined to delinate better between technical users and non-technical users, while providing enough functionality for the middle ground users. Make sure you understand the ins and outs of what each license can do.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sigma is allowing us to create a single source of truth for enterprise wide reporting. It's empowering our end users by democratizing data that is difficult to access and curate through the ERP.

 ### 7. Sigma for Operational & Analytical Reporting

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Roopesh A. | Senior BI Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 24, 2023

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

All Industries run by Excel, but when we are in the cloud, Sigma is alternative.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

Not yet to Savy as Excel and should also be able to crate a Single Page Web App for Data Referential activity.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mainly to move the Excel Savy people online.

 ### 8. Ease of Use Meets Functionality

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stephanie B. | Data Engineer, Financial Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 24, 2023

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

In my time using Sigma Computing, I've been particularly impressed by its cross-platform functionality. This feature has streamlined our internal data delivery processes, making collaboration between teams smooth and efficient. Externally, it's been a game changer for report access. Regardless of the device or operating system, stakeholders can effortlessly view and interact with our data insights. The seamless integration and adaptability mean that our insights are always accessible, consistent, and up-to-date. For someone keen on efficient data visualization and sharing, Sigma Computing is genuinely transformative.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

Very few times have I run into issues with using the Sigma Computing UI but when I have, these problems have been centered around occasional lags that hinder fluidity.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Visualizations! Sigma Computing has revolutionized how I access and visualize data. Before, sifting through massive datasets was daunting, especially for our non-technical team members. Now, Sigma provides a seamless interface where data is not only easily accessible but also effortlessly transformed into intuitive visuals. This has bridged the gap between our technical and non-technical consumers, fostering a cohesive approach to data analysis. The tool empowers everyone in our team to draw meaningful insights, making data-driven decisions a natural part of our workflow. For me, Sigma's solutions have not only streamlined processes but also enriched the quality of our data interpretations.

 ### 9. Sigma is very powerful, but missing "nice to have" features.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 09, 2024

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

Sigma is very easy to learn if you are new to building dashboards. The live customer support is very helpful, knowledgeable, and quick to respond (within minutes). Sigma is easy to implement and integrate into your existing solutions.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

The number of "nice to have" features is fairly limited, however Sigma is constantly adding new feautres.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sigma allows us to visualize our data from a live connection instead of stale csv files. It gives our clients an alternative view to receive our data.

 ### 10. Sigma Dashboard review

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jessica C. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

The support team is absolutely phenomenal. Whenever I have questions about how to do something that's unclear to me in Sigma, they're super friendly and quick to respond to me in the live chat feature. They go above and beyond to check that I truly have fixed my issue.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

The UI is difficult to navigate. Inserting elements and editing the text in them is not intuitive. It's weird to me that if you paste an element from one page to another, it pastes the data source along with it. The autosizing element stuff is also a little weird to me. I come from a Google Data Studio/Looker Studio background so I'm used to the UI there.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Sigma when we need to make ad-hoc dashboards that visualize data straight from a source query and not fully modeled out in Looker. It's a faster way to create dashboards for us that bypasses the version control additions we need to go through when using Looker.

 ### 11. Brief experience using Sigma

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Felipe F. | Financial Accounting & Reporting Supervisor, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

I was surprised to see the responsiveness of Sigma in the projects I worked on. Unlike other visualization softwares I tried, Sigma allows me to continue working on different areas of my project while the data is refreshing on the back, or while it is applying the filters I create.
Also, even if the interface and functionalities are very familiar (some like MS Excel) which allows for a quick 1st interaction, I found extremely helpful all the tutorials created. For every doubt I had, I was able to find the answer I needed.
The support team is great, there was no delay in the responses, I received the help I needed and even recommendations to help improve the performance of what I was building.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

The tutorials and help section have some screenshots or videos that refer to a prior version, however the explanations are correct and easy to follow.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sigma is helping me create visualizations and reports from data stored in warehouses. I'm experiencing faster response times compared to other softwares.

 ### 12. Sigma Elements and Layout

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

I love the new layout feature. It's gives a lot of flexibility in terms of sizing elements and adjusting spacing between elements.

I also love the new KPI feature

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

Spacing constrictions:
I wish I could set the margin for my workbooks instead of small, large & full
As much as I love the grid, I would love to adjust the grid size myself

Font flexibility:
Inside elements I can adjust the font size at a pixel level but for text elements I have very limited options.
Is there a way to set heading, para sizes as part of the theme?

Adding formula to text within elements:
When I add text to charts/KPIs I would like to include a formula in the title name like I do when I add text to the pages.

Would be nice to have tooltips instead of adding text to provide context to different sections on a page (wastes page real estate)

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping our clients without their own data teams answer important questions using our dashbaords

 ### 13. Great Business Intelligence & Reporting Tool for Companies of all sizes

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dan S. | Director, Accounting & FInance, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 16, 2024

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

User experience, ease of use and visualization capabilities

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

Some limitations surrounding linking datasets coming from different sources/connections even if they have a unique identifier

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Comprehensive business reporting tool

 ### 14. Like Excel / Google Sheets on Steroids

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Erik J. | Data and Analytics Mentor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2023

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

Sigma is incredibly easy to use from both a technical and non-technical perspective. My non-technical stakeholders love it because it looks and feels like excel or google sheets. And it runs incredibly fast on top of Snowflake.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

Not really a downside as there are other tools that do this much better, but Sigma does not have its own sematic layer so I need to rely on dbt or some other tool for a semantic layer.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Self serve analytics. I have rolled out Sigma workbooks to our entire organization because they are incredibly easy and intuitive to use for both technical and non-technical stakeholders alike. Sigma is also replaceing Looker as our primary dashboarding and reporting tool.

 ### 15. Extremely powerful tool for reporting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2023

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

Sigma allows us to visualize and analyze complex data without coding skills. The UI is intuitive once you spent some time in the app, but they provide great training where they teach you everything you need.

They offer a lot of customization to create compelling charts and dashboards to communicate insights effectively.

However, the highlight for me is their support team. They offer live chat and the team is knowledgeable enough to help you build just about everything you can think of, in just a short chat. If things get more complex they often hop on a call during this chat and help you build what you need. It is really impressive!

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

Due to the way how you can create new columns (using functions), it can be difficult to motivate end users to start creating their own reports or exploring what you built.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sigma allows us to preview and visualize data. All data visible in Sigma comes from our data warehouse, SnowFlake, which is our one and only source of truth for all data. Having Sigma helped us addressing discrepancies that we faced before, when teams were reporting out of different tools.

 ### 16. Excel on Steroids

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stephen S. | Product Analytics Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

- The Concept: I think it's brilliant that Sigma leveraged the idea that everyone knows and understands Excel/Google Sheets. Then accessed data in Snowflake and leveraged compute in Snowflake to create a tool that allows more non-technical users to be highly effective analysts with only Google Sheets/Excel skills.

- Support: Their support is second to none, though I'm skeptical of its scalability. For now, having someone real and competent on the other side to answer questions immediately is fantastic.

- Speed of Delivery: They have a solid product and development team, as seen through their velocity of major feature releases.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

- Cost: It's expensive to upgrade once you're in. Recommend knowing what you'll need immediately, but negotiate for what you need in 2 years.

- Visualizations: Solid enough for rudimentary visualizations, but has a lot to catch up on, especially if they want to compete with the BI giants.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a two-sided platform in the FinTech world, some of the problems that Sigma is solving for us are:
- Making analytics and visualizations available externally for all of our customers.
- Securitizing the data to ensure that we only provide access to data that the customer should see.
- Allowing our customers to explore their data and build their visualizations based on the available data.
- Enabling our customers to export data through emails or file drops on a scheduled basis.

Internal utilization:
- Data democratization - Everyone in tech knows how to use Excel and Google Sheets. The bar to entry is shallow.

 ### 17. Incredible Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 01, 2023

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

Closest thing to genunine excel experience for high volume data!

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

Visualizations. You might need to layer on custom visuals.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Threading the needle on high volume business data crossprofessional financie. It's the best tool we've come across after evaluating multiple and having an intense procurement process

 ### 18. Making Life Easier

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chuck M. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 04, 2023

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

The sopped and the queslity of the results I receive.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

I would love more training, it is such a robust tool I feel I am only scratching the surface.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A better overall view of my current inventory and contrasting what I carry versus other like markets.

 ### 19. A lot of option is Great

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** jose v. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

You can create diferent types of sigmas and filter information that will help not only you but other people in yout bussiness. you can also implement options.
I use it everyday to get metrics for my Team

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

sometimes it takes a long time to refresh

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can see how my team is preforming, we our store get hit with QI, M&I or INF, then I can deep dive and get to the root of the problem.

 ### 20. Good tool, helps users to more self-service BI

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Logistics and Supply Chain | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2023

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

Good roadmap of features and regular cadence of releases. Nice visualizations and interface. The "Excel-like" workbooks enable power users to take control of their analytics rather than relying on a central IT or data group to provide those. My team can focus more on data acquisition.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

The licensing model leaves a lot to be desired. Standard functionality in other BI tools (export to Excel for instance) is lacking and you need a more advanced license to use. We've had a number of issues with SSO and SAML. I feel that future revisions of the software could improve this functionality.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Speed of time to analysis. Data validation and quality. Enabling self-serve BI for users and getting my team out of the business of building dashboards and reports but instead acquiring and managing data for analysis.

 ### 21. Very powerful and useful tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rahul B. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

The best thing is that you can perform analytics and create vizualizations and dashboards - so it serves as a one stop shop for all your needs! Highly recommended for creating demos/reports!

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

It could have additional plotting capabilities like combining/superimposing two complex plots like box plots with jitters for more powerful vizualizations. Also if titles/axis on graphs could be dynamic based on filter values you could select, that would be fantastic!

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sigma is helping to answer problems where user needs to input or create data to see vizualizations evolve live. The Input Table editable feature is perfect for this!

 ### 22. Sigma is amazing helps us run our Sites with ease!!!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ruben R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

Best thing about sigma is having the access of data for each individual metric we need to caculate if a site is being run well or how to improve based on those numbers.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

So far nothing about sigma is dislikable

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sigma is tracking issues on a consitent time frame and allows us leaders to deep dive into the numbers and see what we can do to adjust on site level.

 ### 23. Powerful data visualization tool for your business

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

Pulling together visualizations and tables is extremely quick! Manipulating data has become easy and almost enjoyable because of the features Sigma offers. I love that I can quickly pull in columns from other data sets (with millions of rows). I'm excited to start using input tables.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

The only downside I can think of is that it is an entirely different platform requiring a significant time investment. It's not like you can transfer your Excel knowledge and automatically know the Sigma formulas. I do think it is worth it, though. Just depends on your capacity at work.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sigma helps solve our problem of having huge, slow Excel files that constantly crash when trying to pull numbers. Excel also is not an ideal place to have dashboards and visuals but Sigma does it all. I have to pull visuals and data for my presentations so it will save me a lot of time and effort pulling the same data and storing it in slow Excel files.

 ### 24. A Creative Take on Data Storytelling

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

I really enjoy how customizable and creative one can be with data visualization and dashboarding, I feel like this is a great, fun way to tell a story while expressing data insights.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

The least helpful thing about Sigma, personally, is how intimidating it can be for new users. There are lots of features, which is great, but the learning curve for onboarding a new user is steep and can make explaining these features to less tech saavy stakeholders a bit difficult.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sigma is helping our team express data insights and pulse-check feature releases for stakeholders.

 ### 25. Reporting that's easy and powerful even for devs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Guru M. | Cofounder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

Even as software engineers, Sigma is way faster to create dashboards than us building reports ourselves (and not as clunky as other BI tools). Also love how easy it is to integrate with other tools.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

Sigma does have a learning curve — significantly faster than any other BI tool, but still requires at least a couple hours before you're very comfortable with it.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Sigma to track product and customer metrics, so we know who may need our help.

 ### 26. Sigma Computing is an easy to use but powerful embedded analytics platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

Easy to understand spreadsheet motif. Top notch technical support -- support in hours not days. Easy to integrate as an embedded app. Can create PDF's with granular control as well. Quick to implement. Connectors to all the common datasources. Our customers and us use it everyday.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

No integration with source control such as GitHub. No re-usable components -- e.g. a visualization you can create and use in multiple reports.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sigma allows us to provide our customers with key business intelligence including KPI's and actionable insights all embedded within our application.

 ### 27. Lead Engineer

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pragya P. | Senior Business Intelligence Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 09, 2023

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

Embedded Analytics and cohort Analysis, easy interface,Pivot table, Input table, Linked Input Table

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

Designing of Dashboards, Tree map not available

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Self service and cost effective

 ### 28. Great tool for projects that have a handful of stakeholders

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

Easily centralize and visualize data for projects with people who need casual check ins for reporting. Can make dashboards very quickly.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

Load times on filters and graphs. Links save with filters/updates applied.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me centralize data for new initiatives that don't have a storied data pipeline, but need regular reporting and standardized views for more than a few people

 ### 29. Sigma is one of the great new business tools

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2021

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

Sigma is incredibly user friendly. Anyone who uses Excel should be able to pick it up very quickly. They also have great tutorials and webinars.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

There isn't anything I currently dislike.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sigma has helped speed up our reporting and data analysis being able to process thousands of lines of data incredibly fast from Snowflake.

 ### 30. fantastic and cross functional!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rohan V. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

I love how creative and cross functional the visualization process is! The tool is very easy to use and there are so many benefits to using this tool when creating visualizations.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

The lack of various types of visualizations makes it rather difficult to increase the granularity of various metrics. There are no waterfall charts or other visuals that Excel has and would incredibly benefit from the rendition of these visuals.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is helping me solve issues pertaining to vehicle sales and vehicle margin analysis. With the implementation of this tool, I have been severely benefitted from this tool!

 ### 31. Changed what I thought possible for teams without expert bi users

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ariel W. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2023

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

This is one of those rare mythical beasts where if you try it you're going to want to buy it. It's honestly that good.

The way I describe sigma is it's a system that makes all the power, speed, flexibility and repeatability of sql based analytics accessible to any user who has moderate experience working in spreadsheet applications like Excel, Google Sheets, or Numbers.

If you can write a formula and make a pivot chart in excel, you can make a live sigma report within minutes with little to no learning required.

Taking ordinary teams with limited Business Intelligence application exposure from complete reliance on a data analyst or BI team feeding them data, to 100% self service is completely possible using sigma. The service is phenomenal, the company is constantly rolling out new features and taking an already exceptional product and making it even better.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

It's a newer company, so compared to say power BI or tableau there are more limited visualization options. But a) those are coming out in product updates literally by the handful and b) the meat and potatoes that blows tableau or power bi out of the water are the user interface mechanics, ease of use, speed and simplicity, and that after you do your data manipulations you can get your resulting tables sql code, with all your manipulations and formulas transformed into real sql you can take and use anywhere

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Sigma to allow team members to access data from our data mart interact tables with each other and create complex dynamic live reports and dashboards. Specifically my team uses sigma for everything from dataset building to financial analysis and P&L reporting, to KPI dashboards and Live iPhone and tablet based interactive presentations for site visits with clients.

 ### 32. Love working with sigma to build dashboards!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Renewables & Environment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

It makes visualizing and manipulating data super easy. They also have a great support team who can quickly help resolve questions/concerns.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

may be difficult to manage complicated workbooks with multiple interconnected tables

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

it is helping us build efficient reporting tools and dashboards that would have otherwise lived on excel

 ### 33. Compelling product with powerful feature set

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

- Live chat (6 am-6 pm PST) is incredible. The support reps are knowledgeable and typically respond in under a minute.
- The UI is intuitive and easy to navigate and learn
- Importing data from any source is a breeze
- Input table feature (premium) is an ideal way to create custom groupings or mappings and join them with datasets
- Building visualizations is as simple as point and click
- The canvas style workbook designer is straightforward to use
- Developing in Sigma is FAST

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

- Optimizing for the compute cost in your cloud data warehouse does take thoughtful intention and doesn't happen by default
- There are only two license tiers. Creating hybrid roles is possible but requires negotiation.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sigma is democratizing data for our organization. We can provide access to curated data sets for users in all teams. A spreadsheet-like interface makes it easy for business users to adopt and be productive quickly.

 ### 34. A dashboarding tool for quickly visualizing analysis.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Publishing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2023

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

Data can be imported directly and very quickly from your data warehouse, and the variety of visualization options and intuitive custom column functions makes analysis easy. Their support chat is extremely helpful, and with their help, nothing stands in your way of telling a story to stakeholders.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

We wanted Sigma as a tool to replace google sheets, but some functionality is not quite fully supported to justify this transition; however, we know that the Sigma team is building out this functionality with Input Tables, and it is only a matter of time.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We wanted a tool to quickly and consistently develop dashboards, and Sigma provided a platform to write SQL and import our granular datamarts to visualize and share among our stakeholders.

 ### 35. Great Experience

nothing that i can think of now but will let you know if it comes up

saving hundreds of manual hours of work by automating a ton of various processes.

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2023

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

Ease of use, implementation, customer support,

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

Would like to have more control on the UI, there are too much of white spaces around, no good borders as the 'divider' come with spaces as well. Would like to have panels which could be hidden and on click so we can effectively use spaces

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Make data for accessible to all

 ### 37. Good online collaborative data visualization tool

Making decisions and answering questions via sigma and demonstrating that to my team on a daily basis

 ### 39. User Friendly BI Tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Farheen T. | Data Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

How user friendly the app is, and the customer support it provides which is different that any other BI tool in the market. This tool is better than Tableau which is not that user friendly

Ease of use but still maintains complex visualization functionality. Also their support team is next level good. Always on hand to answer any question that I have.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

Pivot tables can be a bit slow when not using materialized queries. Would also like to see more visualization tools built into the platform. For example, having combo visualization for multiple groupings.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sigma solves our need for a BI and Data Visualization tool. Sigma dashboards allow anyone in the company to understand how the company is performing. As well as answer complex queries,

The most helpful things about Sigma is that it works for all different levels of experience and people with more or less SQL/programming epxerience can still use Sigma.

Sometimes I feel a bit limited by the tools that Sigma provides unfortunately which can feel frustrated to have to find workarounds to do certain things but overall it's not bad.

Sigma is helping me solve problems with visualizing data and showing the data in innovative and meaningful ways to extract certain insights. It can also handle a lot of complicated processes which is really great.

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

Sigma is like Excel on steroids! Very powerful, dynamic, saves me time, and I'm able to convey data driven insights directly to my customers. No code is needed to find value in Sigma. Sigma also has a very robust customer support team to answer questions whenever you need help.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

The one immediate challenge I've found is for a ConvertTimeZone function, it is a static function. That said, the support agent linked me to an existing ticket and they are working on a solution in the tool for this.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sigma takes all of our data, allows me to add helper fields, and then provides me automated analytics and reporting functionality that I can use to better run our operation.

I need certain parts of multiple sheets to be reincorporated into one workbook. There isn't an easy way that I know of to do this for the end user.

I like the help center! I get prompt responses that always fully answer my questions. I was skeptical at first because I thought I would chatting with bots or something, but it's real people every time!

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

There is a bit of a learning curve with Sigma -- as with any new interface. Sometimes, to customize tables or figures in a certain way isn't always the most intuitive.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Currently working on market analysis of different fix and flip real-estate properties in the United States. Sigma has helped me visualize a lot of this data and create beautiful map visualizatons!

 ### 47. BI tool of the future

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Blake F. | Lead Data Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2022

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

This tool is intuitive and quick to set up and use. It integrates seamlessly with Snowflake. Role and team-based user management come out of the box, ensuring the right data is in the hands of the right people in our organization. It has also accelerated our client-facing analytics roadmap by months.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

The only thing I'm hoping to see in the future is integration with GitHub, allowing for better dataset and workbook version control. Today the difference between 'dev' and 'prod' can challenging to manage.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sigma is where many users across multiple parts of the organization access their data and answer important questions. It is the place where we track our organization's KPIs. We also perform in-depth analyses in Sigma. It satisfies all our data & analytics needs: cleansed and democratized data, beautiful and impactful dashboards, critical ad-hoc analysis, financial planning and analysis, business intelligence and analytics.

 ### 48. Sigma G2 is a Game-Changer for Data Analytics

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sanjay K. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

What I like best about Sigma G2 is its user-friendly interface and powerful analytics capabilities. The platform is intuitive and easy to use, even for non-technical users. The drag-and-drop interface makes it easy to create reports and visualizations quickly, without the need for coding or complex queries. I also appreciate the ability to collaborate with other users in real-time, which has helped our team work more efficiently and effectively.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

One thing I dislike about Sigma G2 is that some advanced features may require additional training to use effectively. For example, some of the more advanced data modeling and transformation capabilities may not be immediately intuitive to new users, and may require additional training or support to fully leverage.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sigma G2 has been instrumental in helping our organization solve a number of data analytics challenges. With Sigma G2, we've been able to streamline our reporting and analysis processes, reducing the time and effort required to produce actionable insights. ### 49. Sigma - A Game-Changing Analytics Platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shubham p. | Student Internship, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

I love how Sigma makes data analysis easy and accessible to everyone in the organization. The platform's intuitive and user-friendly interface allows even non-technical users to create complex data visualizations and reports without relying on the IT team. Sigma also seamlessly integrates with popular cloud data warehouses, making data ingestion and transformation a breeze. What's more, the customer support is excellent and always available to help with any questions or issues.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

One minor drawback of Sigma is the limited range of visualization options. While the platform offers a good selection of charts and graphs, it would be great to see more advanced visualizations and customization features. Another improvement would be better control over data security and permissions.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sigma has transformed the way we analyze data and make decisions as an organization. With Sigma, we can quickly create reports, track KPIs, and perform ad-hoc analyses, all in real-time. The platform's self-service capabilities have greatly reduced the workload of our IT and data teams, allowing them to focus on more strategic projects. ### 50. Empowering Business Users with Self-Service Analytics - My Experience with Sigma

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chandan J. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2023

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

I really appreciate how Sigma has made data analysis and visualization accessible to non-technical users. The platform's familiar spreadsheet-like interface and simple drag-and-drop tools allow users to create powerful reports and dashboards without needing to know complex coding or SQL. Additionally, the integration with cloud data warehouses like Snowflake means that users can work with large datasets in real-time, without having to wait for data to be moved to other platforms.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

One area where Sigma could improve is in terms of the visualizations offered. While the platform has a decent selection of charts and graphs, other BI tools like Tableau or Power BI offer a wider range of customization options and visual styles. That being said, Sigma is still a relatively new platform, and the team is constantly adding new features and improvements, so I'm excited to see where they go in the future.
Overall, I highly recommend Sigma to anyone looking for a user-friendly, cloud-based analytics solution that can empower business users to make data-driven decisions

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sigma is solving several problems for me and my organization. First, it has enabled us to perform data analysis and reporting with greater speed, ease, and accuracy. With its intuitive and user-friendly interface, we can quickly build interactive dashboards and reports using our familiar spreadsheet skills. This has helped to democratize data access and empower more individuals across our organization to make data-driven decisions.

Second, Sigma has helped us to better manage our data by integrating seamlessly with our cloud data warehouse. It allows us to combine data from multiple sources, perform complex transformations and calculations, and generate real-time insights on large volumes of data. This has helped us to streamline our data management processes and reduce the time and resources needed for data preparation and analysis.

Finally, Sigma has provided us with exceptional customer support. The live chat support feature allows us to quickly get answers to our questions and resolve any issues that arise. The Sigma team is responsive and nimble, constantly updating the platform based on customer feedback, which has enabled us to stay up-to-date with the latest features and capabilities.

Overall, Sigma has helped us to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and make better-informed decisions. It is a powerful tool that is transforming the way we work with data, and we are excited to continue to leverage its capabilities in the future.
