"A completely revolutionary database system"
What do you like best about Sheepdog?

Sheepdog is excellent in terms of what its was built for. It is a distributed database like Hadoop but without a single point of failure. It can scale horizontally without needing any proprietary hardware, just your normal laptop and PC will also work if you have space. It uses consistent hashing to decide where to store what. It uses totem ring protocol thus using corosync cluster engine to avoid a store for the metadata of the object stored inside the nodes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sheepdog?

There are two things I dont like about it are: they did not hire a proper ux/ui designer and did not make a user friendly software and the fact that I cant run it on windows server. It was designed to specifically work with QEMU hypervisor thus we had to install that too, heavy task I tell you! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"a decent distributed data storage system"
What do you like best about Sheepdog?

In terms of performance its better than other similar tools which are available.

I loved the close integration it has with git. Its specially beneficial for startups, where they dont need to worry about storage and can focus on their code. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sheepdog?

None at particular, but it needs some tuning to avoid a huge performance lost during rebuild Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
