## About containerd
- an industry-standard container runtime with an emphasis on simplicity, robustness and portability.

## containerd Reviews
  ### 1. Powerful and easy-to-use container runtime

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amit U. | Research Assistant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 02, 2023

**What do you like best about containerd?**

I really appreciate how simple and robust it is, as well as its portability across different environments. The support for the OCI Image and Runtime specifications is also a big plus.

**What do you dislike about containerd?**

The only downside I have found is that the UI could be improved. However, this is a minor issue and doesn't really impact my overall experience with the product.

**What problems is containerd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Containerd is a great solution for managing multiple containers, particularly when used in conjunction with Kubernetes. It has made it much easier for me to create and maintain microservices.

  ### 2. good performance

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** shayan a. | Linux System Administrator, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about containerd?**

docker container is easier to manage and run the same tasks as the containerd to get better and more efficient results.

**What do you dislike about containerd?**

Workloads with complex dependencies can be difficult to containerize

**What problems is containerd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

docker container is easier to manage and run the same tasks as the containerd to get better and more efficient results

  ### 3. Lifecycle manager in cloud

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 20, 2022

**What do you like best about containerd?**

Easy to use application for cloud vm/vnf lifecycle actions.
It helps to access all VMs from a single place.

**What do you dislike about containerd?**

Heavy application consuming space. Liscencing is there, cannot use all services without it.

**What problems is containerd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

To manage VM , create, delete, configuration, and automation actions

  ### 4. The industry standard container runtime

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amith K. | Software Engineer (SDE2) - Innovation, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 15, 2022

**What do you like best about containerd?**

Completely open source software, part of the Cloud Native Computing Foundation, support for both Linux & Windows. Works with most of the ecosystem (K8S, Docker etc)

**What do you dislike about containerd?**

Multi arch on windows does not work well (Bugs exist and are being worked on)

**Recommendations to others considering containerd:**

Works well with supported clients

**What problems is containerd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solves the need for a container runtime, used on our kubernetes clusters

  ### 5. The Best Container system

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** sumit s. | Python Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 20, 2021

**What do you like best about containerd?**

The best thing is container creation is ok but during managing all these but Kubernetes it is best. and you will get more images for windows because dockers have more images for linux One more thing you don't need to suffer when you change machine, and it is straightforward to use, and huge support from a community like most of the images already created same as docker but more efficient compared to dockers

**What do you dislike about containerd?**

Nothing for disliking but its UI is not too good

**Recommendations to others considering containerd:**

If you are using any container tool then please try containerd onec when you use I am damn sure you will like it

**What problems is containerd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When we create microservices that time, we need multiple containers for so we need a great container management even we use Kubernetes in docker but here it will support more

  ### 6. Containerd continues to see significant momentum

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Humberto D. | Solutions Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2021

**What do you like best about containerd?**

It supports Kubernetes; there is no need for Docker Shim; Supports Image push and pull Container runtime and lifecycle, Multi-tenant supported with CAS storage for global images

**What do you dislike about containerd?**

No Kubernetes support after 1.22, a little hard to use with persistence data shared between containers. Containerd Image Pull Performance result in Worse Than Docker

**What problems is containerd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automated discovery and monitoring of every containerd container. Automatic discovery of technologies operating within each containerd container. Real-time dependency mapping and monitoring of all applications running across the entire system

  ### 7. The runtime system one must to use

I have been using containerd for quite some time.some of the features I like are OCI Image spec support, multi-tenant support, management of network namespaces

**What do you dislike about containerd?**

There is nothing much to dislike, but I can say soon contained will become the top among all the container run systems

**What problems is containerd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

containerd accelearates development time and feature testing which is very much required in the current agile methodology work mode

  ### 8. Content using container

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2021

**What do you like best about containerd?**

I have been in this business for a long time and I have never seen a more integrated suite of services for simplifying the deployment of an entire container platform. It has everything you need from orchestration to logging, not to mention it's all in one place.

**What do you dislike about containerd?**

It would be great if it handled runtime process debugging along with logstack and Provide necessary information about managing the system when the performance is down

**What problems is containerd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's so much more than just a framework for building container platforms. With it, you can take any number of different approaches to creating your own containers and it will provide the underlying operating system that needs to be downloaded.

  ### 9. Quite possibly the best container runtime

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2021

**What do you like best about containerd?**

containerd is an excellent tool that's simple to use and understand, lightweight, and highly reliable. I enjoyed setting it up while running my home-lab Kubernetes environment.

**What do you dislike about containerd?**

I suppose the configuration can be improved. The use of a huge JSON file to configure containerd can be somewhat offputting and hard to approach.

**What problems is containerd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I chose containerd as my container runtime for my home-lab Kubernetes setup. It was the only one out of cri-o, and Docker that worked reliably on the armhf architecture, while still being light enough for low-resource environments like Raspberry Pis.

  ### 10. Container System

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2021

The best thing is you don't need to suffer when you change machine and it is very easy to use and very large support from community like most of iamges already create

**What do you dislike about containerd?**

Nothing for dislike any feature like and Graphical applications don't work well

**What problems is containerd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As i said many time I changed my system for some reason so i don't need to installment all req again and again instead to creating VM it will take less resource

  ### 11. The Core of Docker

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2021

**What do you like best about containerd?**

As this is the core of Docker, It is literally the best part of running containers since docker is the most popular container runtime.

**What do you dislike about containerd?**

Not much to see for dislikes. Does exactly as needed and archives all goals when it comes to running containers.

**What problems is containerd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lower Memory footprint by not running VMs and allowing faster startup times and reliability for applications.
