From my perspective, the most glaring feature that was missing out of the box was a search bar. We had to build in a custom search bar on the homepage, which took a few weeks to build. It would have been great if this was something for us to add right from the start. **What problems is Sharetribe solving and how is that benefiting you?** The biggest thing it's solving for us is the general marketplace framework it provides. Features such as the front-end UI, account creation/login/recovery, and booking engine are huge to have readily available. That would take months to build yourself. ### 9. If you are interested somehow, definitely give it a shot. **What do you dislike about Sharetribe?** essential core features, lots of customizability, however i think it need some more corefeatures and lots of general features. But its important to keep in mind that this kind of stuff really hard to develop, and considering they are already the best on the market(for this type of business model & my opinion)it is understandable so i didnt take any point out. In the base no-code subscription model, I think certain UI elements needs a fixing(for example keyword search when selected with location search. it looks like its obvious at the top, right belove the main search bar, however many ordinary users will probably fail to locate it. i think it needs somewhat more obvious location.) I think it would be great if they can make a survey to find out which UI elements are lacking in the no-code version. That would be great. I write a long one because i really like the product and i want improvements. **What problems is Sharetribe solving and how is that benefiting you?** No-code marketplace with lots of customization. It looks like there are a lot of options on the market but I think this is very misleading. And you understand this once you start using them. I was using an alternative Wordpress(I have tried a lot of alteratives as well, that woocommerce and etc. are problematic) powered stuff, and while it had much more options for customization without coding and etc., i run into countless bugs. Even tough i know some coding it consumed my 2 month with no avail. I really loved the UI and features back then, but i know im never going back because I had to wait 2 weeks for a bug to be resolved by the team that provided the main frame. I cant imagine waiting 2 weeks with a broken live product with customers in it. I got a small team and limited resources, so it is essential that we are not dealing with the product itself. Which why I loved Sharetribe in the first place. Seamless integration, everything works as intented.Easy to use. ### 10. We can have a running marketplace where users can list pre-loved toys to be given away in their local community – and keep this free for the end user. There are plenty of choices, but not an overwhelming amount. It keeps you focused on the core of what a marketplace needs to be - a place for buyers and sellers to connect. Other platforms with no-code builds either were too lean, or too complex ultimately negating the mission of no-code. Sharetribe strikes a nice balance, especially for thinking through what functionality is a 'need to have' vs a 'nice to have'. Docs pages, pre-built integrations, and implementation of the marketplace was clear and straightforward (even as a non-technical founder). **What do you dislike about Sharetribe?** It's certainly geared toward physical good and booking marketplace. but their roadmap and product / feature releases certainly indicate a path towards encompassing more diverse marketplaces. Inherent to any no-code solution, there will come a point where code might be required for the final 10% of your specifications, but getting the initial 90% makes developer investment lower and allows you to be very clear with what requirements remain; you're not staring at a blank page wondering what needs to be completed. **What problems is Sharetribe solving and how is that benefiting you?** As a solo founder that is not a developer, Sharetribe has allowed me to build a working marketplace to test the idea, generate user interest, and understand in detail how the workflows and processes need to look. When Flex was released, it was a no brainer. I was already hugely impressed by and confident in the team behind the product and, with Flex, Sharetribe delivered the look/feel we needed to launch a product that had to help us "build trust through design". The built-in features are really intuitive while still giving you enough flexibility to accommodate different use cases. I had a two-sided services marketplace place set up with LinkedIn sign in, custom profiles, payments, messaging, approval workflows, etc. all done within about a day just using the Go product. Most features come default on, and you can just turn off what you don't want - rather than a lot of no-code builders where you have to add every module or extension to get the features you want. The admin tools are also really great out of the box. Help docs and resources are quite robust, and up to date. really nice, clean UI. **What do you dislike about Sharetribe?** Like any no-code builder, you'll eventually run into limitations if the marketplace you want to build has some unique workflows to it. I probably would have switched to Flex if I'd continued with my project, but just didn't have the time to continue. **What problems is Sharetribe solving and how is that benefiting you?** Sharetribe is perfect for people who have a marketplace idea they want to get up quickly and test. Even if you can code, it would take months of work to get the same feature set you get out of the box with this - so unless the marketplace has a really unique set up, it really is the best. ### 23. The customer service is also amazing. **What do you dislike about Sharetribe?** If you're building a products based marketplace, the check-out process is a little bulky because there isn't a shopping cart/one click purchasing option, and the aesthetic could be a little cleaner (I don't like that the text sits on top of the product images) but the overall functionality gives us so much control over the sorting + filtering that we needed, that it was still worth it. A landing page is essential otherwise customers have no idea what you do, but the cost of hosting one page is almost as much as hosting the whole platform. What you get for paying that price is not worth it, it is a very basic, cheap looking, barely customisable landing page. The alternative is to host your own landing page, which is not a viable option for SEO. **Recommendations to others considering Sharetribe:** It is much easier, more cost effective in the longer term and quicker to self host the platform and be free to customise to your specific needs.
