What do you like best about Select Star?

The most helpful feature for my team has been the column-level lineage that gives us end-to-end visibility into our pipeline all the way from source to dashboards. What used to take us 20-30min to do, hopping between different apps, now takes less than 1min and we can do it all within just the Select star UI. This saves a ton of time and prevents a lot of mistakes! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Select Star?

There is nothing to dislike about Select star! However, I wish there would be some more features around data quality and possibly a home page that lists all newly added tables (for the top 50 maybe) after the last sync with the DW Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Great to be able to track data lineage. When we have changes pending to our dbt model, one of our standard steps is to check the Select Star lineage to evaluate impact. I use it almost every day to check stuff. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The thing that makes me think positively about Select star is the Search bar. The search bar at the top of the page allows you to search for any data asset, using spaces as delimiters. The search results page includes filters for Asset Types, Tags, Owners, and more, which can be adjusted to display or hide specific items. This is a helpful tool for data professionals looking to quickly and easily find data objects across a range of sources. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
