# Which live blog platforms work best for teams covering major conferences with real-time multimedia content?

For the people here who review live blog and publishing tools: which live blog platforms work best for teams covering major conferences with real-time multimedia content, meaning video clips, photos and audio going up within minutes, not text updates with a picture added later?

"Multimedia" used to mean a photo per post. At a conference now it means a keynote clip, a speaker's social post, a floor photo and a soundbite, all in the same hour, from different people. The bottleneck is rarely the writing. It's the path from a phone camera to a published post, and whether that path runs through a shared drive and a desk editor or straight into the blog.

Tickaroo bets on capture in the app. Arena.im bets on curation from social. storytile bets on the brand site as the destination. Same conference, three different answers.

Tickaroo Live Blog (5.0/5, 5+ reviews): Reporters capture images, video and audio in the iOS or Android app and save straight to the live blog, with social embeds added from a pasted link. Trade-off: video is its own format inside Tickaroo, so clips don't automatically flow to your main site's video player.

Arena.im (4.6/5, 20+ reviews): Strongest when the multimedia already exists on social. It pulls speaker and attendee posts in automatically or through a moderator, and pairs the blog with live chat. Trade-off: less built for original capture; your team's own clips still come in through the browser editor.

storytile: Made for content marketers and publishers running curated multimedia feeds on their existing sites, which is closer to a sponsor or host brand's conference use than a newsroom's. Trade-off: no G2 reviews yet.

RebelMouse (4.4/5, 60+ reviews): Adjacent pick. A full publishing CMS, so conference multimedia lands in the same media library and player as the rest of the site. Trade-off: you adopt a CMS, not a live blog tool.

The phone-to-publish path is exactly what I’d test. Give three reporters the same keynote and see who can get a photo, 30-second clip, and quote live first without touching a laptop. Tickaroo’s in-app capture sounds built for that; Arena.im feels stronger when the conference itself is already generating the content on social.
