That experience has been consistent across the whole team, from Aimée’s excellent onboarding to Henry’s expertise in Science-Based Targets, and everyone in between. The GHG portal itself is well designed, intuitive, and easy to navigate. We were able to migrate nearly 5 years of data with minimal support, which was a real testament to the platform’s usability. Some standout features for me include: - a climate transition action plan that can be shared publicly, supporting greater transparency; - built-in surveys to easily capture employee data; - helpful resource and signposting pages; and - AI-matched supplier surveys, which should support us in reducing our Scope 3 emissions over time. The platform updates in real time and allows you to filter data by scope, category, location, and intensity targets. The step-by-step structure makes it clear what actions are needed, and the ‘Climate Action Committed’ badge provides a tangible milestone once these are completed. It really feels like a one-stop shop for building robust, audit-ready carbon metrics. We developed a business case for the board comparing Seedling with several similar platforms, and it didn’t just come out on top—it stood out by a significant margin in terms of both cost and overall value. I would wholeheartedly recommend Seedling to any B Corp or purpose-driven organisation committed to continuous improvement, accountability, and transparency, all grounded in science-based methodology aligned to the GHG Protocol. **What do you dislike about Seedling?** I have yet to find something that I dislike about Seedling. **What problems is Seedling solving and how is that benefiting you?** We previously updated our emissions manually, which was time-consuming because we were chasing more than 100 busy consultants and entering granular details for separate offices. Our biggest challenge was figuring out how to establish science-based target alignment that would deliver the biggest wins, while still being achievable for us to implement as a service-only provider. Seedling made it easy to upload spreadsheets and we were also able to include spend-based data. The 1:1, expert-led guidance was the icing on the cake, and we now have a robust plan with clear targets and projections to help us improve our actions more quickly. I also like that you can share the actions you’ve already taken to reduce greenhouse gases on your transition plan, and that you’re not penalised for having already done a lot when establishing your baseline. ### 2. Plus, the Seedling team is very responsive, knowledgeable, and professional, and they guide us effectively when we have difficulties. I find this support very valuable. Additionally, the initial setup was a breeze because everything is clearly available, and it was very easy to input the necessary information. Overall, the experience with Seedling has been positive, and I feel confident recommending it. **What do you dislike about Seedling?** So far, I have no major issues. However, it would be helpful if the Seedling app could provide a more detailed breakdown for raw materials. For example, beef fro. the USA may have different carbon emission factor compared to beef from the UK or Spain, and the same could apply to vegetables and other ingredients depending on their source. It would also be plus point if we could track or input our carbon emissions on a monthly basis, as this would make the data more useful for monitoring progress over time. **What problems is Seedling solving and how is that benefiting you?** Seedling helps simplify and centralized our carbon tracking progress, especially for a restaurant operation where data comes from many different sources such as utilities, suppliers, logistics, food ingredients, and waste. Previously, a lot of the tracking was done manually through spreadsheet, which could be time consuming and difficult to consolidate. With Seedling, it gives us clearer overview of our emissions in one platform and makes the process more organized and manageable. It also helps us identify which areas contribute the most to our carbon footprint, allowing us to make more informed decisions and focus on areas where improvements can have the biggest impact. It makes helpful suggestions and automatically generates reports. **What do you dislike about Seedling?** You can only select one category for each cost, which can have a huge impact on your footprint. For example, we chose IT services for our data centre, but in reality there is a very large electricity cost associated with this.
