SearchUnify Cognitive Search delivers a true unified search experience across all of our knowledge, documentation, and training systems. In an environment where content lives across multiple platforms, SearchUnify removes the burden from users of needing to know where information resides. They simply search and get the right answers.

All results are presented on a single, commingled page regardless of the source, eliminating silos and dramatically improving content discoverability. This has been transformative for both our customers and internal teams, ensuring knowledge is accessible at the moment it’s needed.

Equally important, the SearchUnify team has been an exceptional partner. The implementation was seamless, and their team handled the integration and onboarding with precision and professionalism. They are proactive, responsive, and genuinely invested in our success. It truly feels like a partnership, not a vendor relationship.

**What do you dislike about SearchUnify Cognitive Search?**

Nothing.  SearchUnify continues to actively evolve the platform and is highly receptive to feedback. While there are always opportunities to further enhance analytics depth and visualization, their team has been extremely collaborative and responsive in addressing requests and improving the product. Their commitment to continuous improvement has been a major strength.

**What problems is SearchUnify Cognitive Search solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SearchUnify eliminated content silos by providing a single, unified access point to knowledge, documentation, and training across multiple platforms. This allows users to focus on solving their problem instead of figuring out where information lives.

One of the most impactful capabilities has been embedding SearchUnify directly into our case submission workflow. By surfacing relevant knowledge, documentation, and training at the moment users are describing their issue, we have significantly improved self-service success and increased case deflection. Users are able to resolve questions independently, reducing support volume while improving the overall user experience.

It has fundamentally transformed how our customers, partners, and employees access knowledge, making information easier to find, faster to consume, and more actionable.

The Analytics portion of the search is very valuable for our organization. It helps us track if there are gaps in knowledge or if we have missing information that our users are looking for. In addition to the analytics, having a CSM to guide us through the data and give meaning to it has been valuable.

**What do you dislike about SearchUnify Cognitive Search?**

Some features commonly available on other platforms, such as multi-hit highlighting are not available out of the box with SearchUnify. We explored this gap and, while it can be addressed through customization, the result is not as seamless as we would prefer. That said, we recognize that the organization prioritizes innovation in machine learning and AI over more traditional search feature development.

**What problems is SearchUnify Cognitive Search solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our content was previously fragmented across multiple systems, making it difficult to access through a single search experience. We had a mix of file types, including HTML, PDFs, and both static and dynamically generated web pages which added to the complexity.

With the support of the implementation team, we consolidated these sources and effectively index the content within one unified search system.

We also faced challenges with irrelevant results appearing in search queries on our old system. Since implementing SearchUnify's platform, users are now able to find more relevant, meaningful content based on their searches. Along with the ability to customize their experience.

**What do you like best about SearchUnify Cognitive Search?**

What stands out most is still the quality of the search itself. Results are fast, relevant, and generally do a good job understanding intent instead of relying too heavily on exact keyword matches. Over the past year, we also had more opportunities to see how SearchUnify can support a broader knowledge experience beyond standard site search. As we worked more with structured content and explored AI-related use cases, it became clearer that the platform has a lot of depth. We also had positive experiences with their team. They were engaged, open to feedback, and willing to work through questions with us, which made collaboration much easier.

**What do you dislike about SearchUnify Cognitive Search?**

The main area for improvement is still implementation complexity. SearchUnify is a capable platform, but getting the most out of it takes time, planning, and a fairly strong understanding of the underlying setup. For teams managing multiple content sources, custom experiences, or more advanced configurations, the learning curve can be significant. Luckily, SearchUnify's implementation of their own tool and chatbot/agent "Lumen" on their support site is rather knowledgeable and is a good indicator of what their tool is capable of. That said, clearer documentation in some areas, along with more prescriptive implementation guidance, would help reduce ramp-up time. Once things are working, the product is strong, but the path to full maturity can take more effort than expected.

**What problems is SearchUnify Cognitive Search solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As I've mentioned earlier - we haven't implemented the Cognitive Search in its full potential yet for customers to use - but in our testing - SearchUnify is helping us solve the problem of poor content discoverability. We've always had difficulty with limiting our search to keyword based searches. The results with extra search tuning brings up the articles we think are relevant - but that doesn't necessarily mean that our customers find them useful. But in our testing, we've seen that the results are more relevant and personalized which saves a lot for both myself and (hopefully) our customers. The solution we're currently using does help with content gap analysis though. The admin dashboard provides a pretty user friendly analysis for searches with no results, searches with results but no clicks, and other categories. Our technical writers use this tool to determine gaps in our content that may better serve customers with updates and new articles.

**What do you like best about SearchUnify Cognitive Search?**

We deployed SearchUnify to provide federated search for our SFDC community, and even with prior experience on our team, the rollout exceeded expectations. Implementation was fast with minimal lift from us: onboarding captured requirements, shared a clear plan, and handled the backend while coordinating smoothly with our Grazitti Salesforce team. We tested in a sandbox, made small tweaks, then moved to production; post‑launch, admins got a quick console walkthrough. Support is responsive and escalates when needed. We’re pleased with the results and are expanding into case deflection and chatbot use cases—expect quick time‑to‑value and low operational overhead.

**What do you dislike about SearchUnify Cognitive Search?**

The solution is very full-featured and complex but has allowed us to really deep dive into our content gap analysis and improve the customer experience. We continue to leverage new ways of providing reccomendations to the customer via our community and even via email support requests. We are also aware of our content gaps and are able to prioritize areas for improvement. As we move forward, we are keen to enhance our search features with AI and customer self-service.

**What problems is SearchUnify Cognitive Search solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SearchUnify solves two issues for us. First, we can provide custom searches across our documentation, LMS, community, and knowledgebase sources. The search results are easily customized, and customers can adopt them quickly. Second, we can provide federated search to our support agents for sources outside SFDC. Agents have easy access to customer-facing articles and internal process documentation to manage support cases easily.

**What do you like best about SearchUnify Cognitive Search?**

The SearchUnify teams are extremely helpful, from implementation on to support. Our Customer Success Managers, in particular, have been an invaluable resource and connection. 

I appreciate the enhanced discovery it provides for our Appinium resources in our learning portal. We've seen an increase in usage that we can directly attribute to the search functionality. 

I also appreciate the level of detail provided in the analytics session tracking details. That has enabled us to take a deeper dive into user behavior and searches by exporting it to Tableau and connecting it to our Salesforce data.

We have also recently conducted accessibility audits on our platforms and services. The SearchUnify team was incredibly quick and responsive in helping us resolve accessibility issues found in the SearchUnify components.

**What do you dislike about SearchUnify Cognitive Search?**

"Dislike" is the wrong word here, I think. SearchUnify generates a lot of data and that can make it a struggle sometimes to turn that data into action. I would like to see more enhancements in the analytics region of the admin dashboard, specifically around admins being able to customize what is displayed on their dashboards and exclude data sets from analysis, when applicable.

**What problems is SearchUnify Cognitive Search solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use the Salesforce platform with a third-party app for our learning content. We could not expose that learning content to the user community because the native search couldn't honor the sharing rules. Our learning content was, therefore, not discoverable in our user community. Implementing the search tool from SearchUnify allowed us to expose this content in the search and it can now be discovered organically and highlighted in case deflection components.

Keyword Search Tuning has been very effective and directing users t the best available content.

We've tried switching over to the newer Vector based Search model, but were unable to get the same success rate as Keyword boosting. We're waiting on an update which should address this.

What we have found is, when compared to other AI driven federated search tools on the market, SearchUnify is the best value in features and quality of results to subscription price.

SearchUnify is helping us see gaps in our customer-facing documentation.  It helps us improve our self-help resources for our customers. With this, SearchUnify helps us maintain a high deflection rate. Also, the SearchUnify chatbot helps guide customers to the best resources, addresses gaps in documentation directly, and helps connect customers to additional assistance.

3. High support volume and poor self-service - It enables strong self-service by surfacing precise answers, deflecting L1 cases, and reducing support load.

The "Context Switch" Fatigue: Even though it’s integrated, the admin console doesn't live natively inside Salesforce Setup. Every time I need to tweak a ranking rule or check an index status, I’m jumping out of my Salesforce flow into their portal. It would be a game-changer if they built a native Lightning App for the backend so we didn't feel like we were leaving home.

Search Unify has a helpful customer success and support team that is responsive and always trying to help meet our unique needs. They are adding a lot of AI capabilities to help make their product more effective and efficient -- it's not even the same product that it was a couple of years ago. It has been an essential component to make our LMS resources searchable in our org's Salesforce Community.

I think the software UI could be more user friendly, but this was also the first SEO I've used on the backend so my learning curve was steep. It used to require a lot of manual time to maximize the search capabilities, but that has really changed with their GPT search.

Search Unify effectively combined content from Documentation, Knowledge Base Articles, Forum Discussions, Blogs, and other sources to simplify our customer experience. This helps them come to one place and find the correct answer every day, regardless of where the content is posted. They also helped integrate it into our case creation flow so every case is created after a search of resources. This is also a resource that our support agents regularly use to find resources to share with customers.

Their in-depth analysis of analytics and case deflection logic provided us with greater clarity on our case flow, search metrics, and areas for improvement in our search functionality. 

They worked hard with us to ensure a smooth go-live, which included extended hours. We also valued their consistent responsiveness, which ensured that questions were addressed promptly, demonstrating effective teamwork and ownership of the project's success.

Furthermore, the team's agility in implementing feedback in real time and making adjustments efficiently, even during calls, contributed positively to the project's momentum and collaborative nature.

**What do you dislike about SearchUnify Cognitive Search?**

We encountered a few challenges with indexing the ticketing platform. It turns out the rate limit from that provider is relatively low. The SearchUnify team was able to fine-tune and optimize their indexing to keep everything running smoothly.

It's bringing together all of the resources maintained by multiple teams into one place for our customers to find them. They also provide us with actionable insights on searches that yield no results and those with a low success rate. The team has consistently shown flexibility and partnership in the way they support us. Whether it’s tailoring solutions to our specific needs or equipping us with the right information so we can manage things independently, they strike the perfect balance. The SU team were and continue to be engaged and proactive through every step of initial requirements, testing and moving to production. Adding Content Sources to create a diverse searching "database" has been great and very easy to use. The product is in our Customer Portal applications, allowing customers to search from all the varied platforms product articles and resources are hosted in. I like that additional custom APIs are not needed for a task like this. Search tuning is a powerful tool that I personally have not used enough, but working with Saurav Ganguly to help me maximize SearchUnify's value for my position and mission has been great. Saurav really understands my goals and has ideas on how to get there. I use Search Unify multiple times per use to gather metrics and find search trends that my customers are searching for. SearchUnify Academy has also been a great resource instead of going to Support or Saurav for any of my curiousities.

The only thing I have found just "okay" with SearchUnify: the historical reporting issues (for example I could not report back sometimes for a full year or compare 2023 to 2024 from the reporting tool--I will have to rely on my manually recorded historical data).

The experience with the entire team has been fantastic. From initial dealings when we were searching for a tool, contracting, implementation and now rollout. Everyone was transparent, there was no "bait and switch". Each person we've dealt with was genuine and candid in their communication. What we were told we were in for during the sales cycle is what we got from our implementation team. A well laid out plan. When we had questions or requests that perhaps fell out of the "norm", we were never told no, or promised the world. The team was honest and would investigate options and come back with well thought out responses or options. 

The application itself has been very helpful in meeting our initial goals (improved search capabilities, one-stop-shop search capabilities, ease of use, LOTS of metrics for analytics). We now have insights into the path our customers take in our help center, what are the exact terms they search, what is the sequence of their search terms proving greater insight into the actual terms they use/what they do vs what we assumed they do. We are still only a couple of months from go live but we will be leveraging this information to improve our content and also work on reframing our own mindset/assumptions.

The Admin Panel is well laid out and easy to navigate. You can really go down a rabbit hole! Some of the features we are most eager about are:
- auto spell corrector/did you mean (something so simple but very helpful for end users to return relevant content)
- Synonyms - two parts here, suggested synonyms makes our lives so much easier vs having to define on our own and being able to create synonyms allows us to capture the terms our customers actually use/understand vs our standard or more technical terms

Perhaps we are still in the "honeymoon phase" but nothing stands out as a dislike. A few feedback or featur requests that I have yet to submit regarding some oddities noticed when switching to dark mode in the Admin Panel and ability to add commentary to actions on searches with no clicks.

The support, product management, and customer success teams are all very responsive. We have seen our suggestions and requests for enhancement accepted and incorporated into the product.

**What do you dislike about SearchUnify Cognitive Search?**

The administration UI is not as intuitive as it could be and there are, at times, multiple save buttons on the UI to accomplish a single action or update. Some of the client configurations seems to require contacting SearchUnify.

**What problems is SearchUnify Cognitive Search solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are solving a knowledge sprawl issue within and external to our organization. We have multiple sources for product information and have now begun to make sure they are all sourced through the SU instances we have incorporated.

A more coherent and adaptable approach to implementation across different environments could help overcome such hindrances.
