SchoolMessenger School Notification is a solid communication system. From email, text, and phone calls, it's our one-stop-shop for communicating with families. We use it both for inclement weather and for general District communication, as well as school-level messages from the principals. I like that you can build out customized and branded templates based on location, so we can have different headers for each school. Having personalization builds trust and increases open rates. We pre-record many of our mass phone calls in a third-party application. The third-party applications allow us to adjust for clarity and length. Occasionally, these messages exceed file size limits to upload to SchoolMessenger and require added time to trim and compress the files to be usable on the mass phone call. Easy access to instant broadcast alerts . the ability to use via internet site, mobile app gives you great flexibility in times of emergency. There has not been much to dislike as the program keep growing and advancing as the overall industry and needs change in regards to communication as a whole. Although user friendly, this app lacks in features. There is no way for a patent to initiate a private chat with a teacher. Because of this, the teacher must private message each parent in order to initiate that with each which is very time consuming. The interface is not very user-friendly at first. However, over the years, they have worked on updating the system. It looks better, but to a new user, it is a bit difficult to maneuver. I don't really like how the SDD works for two reasons. It's great to be able to send merged documents this way, but I wish I could create templates myself rather than wait for someone in support to do so on my behalf. I also don't like that I can't see a preview of the merged document emails as our parents will see them prior to sending.
