What do you like best about Sapio LIMS?

What I like best about Sapio LIMS is how intuitive and flexible the platform is. From the very beginning, it’s clear that the system has been designed with both the end user and the broader scientific workflow in mind. The interface is clean and easy to navigate, which makes onboarding and daily use much more efficient — even for users who aren’t deeply technical.

Another standout feature is the level of customization available. Sapio LIMS adapts to the specific needs of our lab rather than forcing us to fit into a rigid structure. Whether it's configuring workflows, setting up data entry forms, or integrating with other systems, the platform provides the tools to tailor processes exactly as we need them.

I also appreciate how Sapio LIMS helps ensure data integrity and traceability, which are absolutely critical in regulated environments. The audit trails, role-based access, and overall structure give us the confidence that our data is secure, consistent, and compliant.

The trainers were knowledgeable, patient, and made sure we understood both the technical side and the bigger picture. It made a difference in how I engage with the software — not just clicking buttons, but actually understanding what I’m doing and why. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sapio LIMS?

What I’ve found most challenging about Sapio LIMS so far is that, while the platform is very powerful, it can feel a bit overwhelming at first — especially for users who aren’t familiar with LIMS systems. There’s a learning curve when it comes to understanding how all the pieces fit together, and sometimes it takes time to feel fully confident navigating certain modules or settings.

That said, I wouldn’t call this a flaw, but rather something to be aware of. It’s a complex tool designed for complex environments, and the training sessions helped a lot in bridging that initial gap. With continued use, I’ve grown more comfortable with the system, but I do think a bit more user guidanc Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Sapio LIMS solving and how is that benefiting you?

One of the main problems Sapio LIMS is solving for us is the centralization and traceability of laboratory data. Before using Sapio, managing sample information, test results, and workflows could be fragmented or reliant on manual processes, which increased the risk of errors and made it harder to ensure consistency.

With Sapio, everything is captured and organized in one system, which helps improve data integrity, traceability, and operational efficiency. It’s much easier to track where samples are in the workflow, maintain standardized procedures, and generate reports when needed. "Detailed Oriented Team Delivered"

What do you like best about Sapio LIMS?

The flexibility. I enjoy having access to a system that allows us to design digital workflows that work with our labs. In the past, with much more rigid systems, it was more re-work of laboratory practices to work with a system. Not with this ELN! In addition, utilizing agile workflows, we were able to test and implement individual workflows as well as to test integrations along the way! "Customizable LIMS System with Good Customer Support but Poor Documentation"

What do you like best about Sapio LIMS?

Sapio comes with a lot of good to decent apps out of the box that work within our system. What's especially great though is the fact that we can add our own plugins and webhooks that interface with our other information databases and accurately map out our experiments. What do you dislike about Sapio LIMS?

I really dislike the documentation of how Sapio Apps work. Most of the App Setup backend is obtuse and can require either a lot of trial and error or multiple demos to fully grasp, and that's just for 1 user. If we have to train another user then we have to rely on our own documentation or try to refer to the barebones Exemplar End User Documentation.

Thankfully, over the last year there has been a concerted and much appreciated effort from Sapio to expand their documentation and simply our ability to ask questions. The Sapio Sciences Support Portal is a great step forward, but still lacks much of the necessary documentation for specific apps. I look forward to more pages written within it. What do you like best about Sapio LIMS?

Sapio provides a foundation - the platform that guarantees the reliable storage of records. There is a ton of tools they provide on top of that for keeping track of experiments, materials, and data. What do you like best about Sapio LIMS?

The web-based access allows access from any instrument in the lab. This is great for rapidly uploading data at the point of creation into the database. The fundamental ability of the system to represent complex biological workflows is the single most important and attractive feature of this system. Combined with the ability to tune it to our specific needs, this makes data tracking for large numbers of entities very easy in the system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sapio LIMS?

Building views and generating reports is a little too dependent on the support from the team. While we appreciate the rapid turnaround and fantastic product support, features that allow us to glean data as is from the system would be nice to have in the future. What problems is Sapio LIMS solving and how is that benefiting you?

Exemplar is agnostic to the numbers of data elements that move through the workflows, which means it lends itself to high-throughput implementation from the get-go. This is critical to our workflow in the biologics space and we are able to provide the discovery process with an informatics backbone like no other. In addition to the speed, this system allows for easy data parsing and analysis, which allows us to examine our process and trends like never before. Most of our workflows are request-driven, so to have timeline data associated with a variety of requests empowers us to address age-old inefficiencies and even new challenges as the science evolves.
