# Which applicant tracking systems consistently cut time-to-hire for recruiters managing high-volume requisitions?

The honest answer is that it's rarely the ATS interface itself that creates speed. It's how well it connects to job boards, calendars, communication tools, and the systems downstream that determine whether requisitions move fast or stall.

From reviews in the Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) category with an integration lens:

Was it sourcing speed, scheduling automation, or something further downstream?

Greenhouse combining interview scheduling with candidate messaging in the same view is what I'd want most here. Not having to jump into a separate email thread just to confirm a time removes a lot of the back-and-forth that usually drags out the interview stage. Keeping both pieces together also means a recruiter isn't left guessing whether a candidate actually saw the latest update.

Scheduling automation probably makes the biggest difference once volume gets high. Sourcing can fill the top of the funnel quickly, but interview coordination is where requisitions often start slowing down if too much still depends on manual back-and-forth.

### Comment 3

Something that gets skipped when comparing tools on this: where the clock starts. If time-to-hire runs from requisition approved, a large chunk of it is the intake and approval stage, before the ATS is doing anything at all. If it runs from first application, the number can improve simply because the req got approved faster. Worth pinning the definition down before benchmarking any platform against it, otherwise the metric moves for reasons that have nothing to do with the system.

### Comment 4

The framing that it's rarely the ATS interface that creates speed but how well it connects downstream is honestly the most useful thing I've read on this topic. What's the actual split for people who've seen improvement: is it sourcing, scheduling or something further down like offer management?
