**What do you like best about Samsung Remote Test Lab?**

What I really like about Samsung’s Remote Test Lab is how it gives developers the chance to test their apps on actual Samsung devices, without needing to own every single model. It’s super convenient because you can access a wide range of devices. I have used it a few times and had a very good experience.

**What do you dislike about Samsung Remote Test Lab?**

One downside of Samsung Remote Test Lab is that the connection can sometimes be slow, especially during peak hours. Also, some advanced features might not be fully available for testing.

**What problems is Samsung Remote Test Lab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Samsung Remote Test Lab solves the problem of not having access to a variety of physical Samsung devices for testing. It lets me test apps on real devices from anywhere, without needing to own them all. This saves time and money, and ensures my app works well across different Samsung models.

**What do you like best about Samsung Remote Test Lab?**

This program enables the user to run their apps on a vast array of emulated Samsung products, including smartphones, tablets, watches, and more, and the list is constantly expanding. This software from Samsung is an excellent way to test any application you are developing on numerous Samsung devices, as owning all of them is simply out of the question.

**What do you dislike about Samsung Remote Test Lab?**

Due to the fact that this is an online testing platform, things tend to be very slow sometimes. Things also get frozen sometimes. The only way to fix this is by someone from Samsung restarting the system, which is not good for your productivity.

**What problems is Samsung Remote Test Lab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For a freelance developer, it's fantastic to be able to test applications on a variety of virtual Samsung devices without having to purchase them.

**What do you like best about Samsung Remote Test Lab?**

Samsung Remote Test lab has been a life savior when it comes to testing out prototypes we are building for our drone delivery services. We have been testing out the features at Remote test lab whi ch are so close to the actual conditions that we get very less error rate. It has a very crisp interface that doesn't confuse the user and is very helpful during knowledge transfer

**What do you dislike about Samsung Remote Test Lab?**

I feel more integrations with APIs like OpenAI and Claude to utilise the power of LLM models in the remote lab for experimentation.

**What do you like best about Samsung Remote Test Lab?**

It’s a great tool for app testing, especially because you get to test the apps on actual devices even if they are running on a past version of Android like 4.1 or 4.4. The best of all, it’s a free resource for developers.

**What do you dislike about Samsung Remote Test Lab?**

Sometimes, connection is faulty but I guess it’s due to high traffic times. This is easily fixed by choosing the device that’s nearer to your geographic location so connection won’t be dropping easily. You need credits to get access but they can also be purchased on the site.

**What problems is Samsung Remote Test Lab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

You get to test your newly created application on actual devices, using a no strings attached service that allows you to register crashes and bugs.
You get minimum connection drops if you only use the 30 minutes test time slot, it makes it really efficient.

**What do you like best about Samsung Remote Test Lab?**

Pretty and easy to use interface. It is easy to choose platform that I need and run the device. I can choose about 100 different devices. I like that I can choose old models of telephones, that hard to find. I only need browser for do my test. I do not need to spend my cloud or server resources, I only need the JRE Java client and new version of browser to run emulation. I can automate some simple repeatable actions by choosing click or install with delay test. I can record screen and I can see come log information when use emulator

**What do you dislike about Samsung Remote Test Lab?**

There is no profiles, that I always want to run. I can only test my application for up to 2 hours, and then need to start again. I cant save my state on device installation. Sometimes there are no blank profiles, and I need to do additional reset of the device before start testing.

**Recommendations to others considering Samsung Remote Test Lab:**

Best practice, if choosen emulator is not previous version of your testing, than do reset device for better performance and test stability.

**What problems is Samsung Remote Test Lab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Testing apk android application on pack of Samsung devices without spending memory, hard drive and processor resources. There are some limitations and restrictions if we testing difficult application, but we can test parts of application for good design and interface responce on the chosen device. We automate some routine test tasks with the out of the box task creator in the java emulator application.

**What do you like best about Samsung Remote Test Lab?**

This program allows the user to test their apps on a very large selection of emulated Samsung devices, including phones, tablets, and watches - and the list keeps on growing all the time.

This piece of software from Samsung is a great way to test any app you are developing on a large number of Samsung devices since owning all these devices is simply not a realistic option.

Not much is required for running this program, simply a computer with Java runtime and a Samsung account.

You also get some useful basic tools to help you interact with your app running on the device, along with the ability to record video- which is also helpful when developing app demos.

**What do you dislike about Samsung Remote Test Lab?**

Since this is a web-based platform for testing, things can get very laggy at times. Things also tend to get freeze - and the only way it can be fixed is when someone from Samsung re-boots the system- not great for productivity!

The time you have to use this service is limited as well to a few hours at a time.

Also, since this is a service developed by Samsung, only Samsung devices are available for testing on.

**Recommendations to others considering Samsung Remote Test Lab:**

I would definitely recommend this program since it is an absolutely free way to test apps on a large amount of Samsung devices without having to purchase them.

**What problems is Samsung Remote Test Lab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to test applications on a large selection of virtual Samsung devices without having to buy them is great for a freelance developer.

  ### 11. Useful and easy to use service with some limitations

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amir N. | Product Development Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2016

**What do you like best about Samsung Remote Test Lab?**

While testing your app on an emulator is easy and useful while on the development stage, it is very important to test the app on a variety of real devices before putting it on the market.
Since buying and maintaining many devices for testing purposes is not always an option, Samsung's Remote Test Lab comes to help solve this problem by allowing you to test your app on a huge selection of real devices (obviously, Samsung's own) remotely.
The requirements to run the Remote Test Lab is a PC able to run Java runtime and a modern browser (JavaScript is needed) and a good internet connection. You will also have to sign up for a Samsung account to be able to test your app. You get few hours a day for testing (which has to be reserved per device).
Device selection is huge. You have access to many Samsung phones, tablets and "wearables" each with all the supported android versions and Samsung keep on adding all their newer devices.
After you install your apk on the remote device via the interface, you can interact with it and test its layout and functionality. You get some basic controls to help you with the tests, including screen capture and video recording of the session. Those can be helpful when reviewing the test session with others or generating reports. (Don't forget to uninstall the app from the device to ensure no one else will have access to it at this stage of testing…)

**What do you dislike about Samsung Remote Test Lab?**

There are some limitations that should be considered, the most important is that all the tests are done remotely over the web, there is a lag, so performance cannot be assessed correctly (make sure to select a server closer to you when you setup your test to get the best performance possible)
Other issues are the lack of ability to make any SIM related operations, such as, phone calls or texting (wifi is available however). Also, access to the camera and audio are not available.
Since the device is remote, if it gets stuck/freeze/locked you have to contact Samsung's support for someone to manually reboot it, which is not ideal with your testing schedule…
As stated before, only Saumsung devices are available for testing.

**Recommendations to others considering Samsung Remote Test Lab:**

it is free, give it a try if you don't have access to android devices for testing.

**What problems is Samsung Remote Test Lab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

testing on multiple real devices while not having to actually own them can help a private developer.

While this service is a good solution for testing things such as layout, images behavior (scaling) and user interface testing this is not an alternative for full QA session of the app functionality.
