Sage can allow you to document quantities in all different organizational formats from being the project/area type (new, remodel, etc.) to uniformat or masterformat division organization. Sage does not have a system for actually doing the quantity takeoffs, so my company uses other PDF readers to count the items, then transfers the information into Sage. If you can imagine, this is a long process and can be fixed by incorporating a system like OST or Bluebeam into the program. It also doesn't look visually appealing, compared to other programs it is lacking a few years.

We are a relatively small company with an emphasis on renovations and remodels. In our model we don't use a vast majority of the horsepower behind Sage 300. So...I guess this isn't a knock on the software so much as it's a statement about it's usefulness in a given application.
