## runc Reviews
  ### 1. runc is docker

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about runc?**

I like how it is a lightweight version of docker. This way it is cost saving for deployments to places such as aws. Due to the structure of aws which everyone is going for. The more space a container needs usually means the more cost it is and also the longer it takes to start up.

**What do you dislike about runc?**

I dislike that because it is a lightweight version of docker some stuff that was made for docker might not work correctly without much changes.

**Recommendations to others considering runc:**

Make sure to first use docker to get an idea of how to make and run a container.

**What problems is runc solving and how is that benefiting you?**

using runc allow the aws containers to be smaller which means extra savings for the company

The level of security knowledge and patch management required to maintain runc components in production code

**Recommendations to others considering runc:**

Establish standardized security and patch management processes for your team prior to onboarding the service in your development or production deployment processes

**What problems is runc solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Launching and managing containers running memcached docker images without referring to Docker. Efficiency and less intervention required for developers pushing local code updates to devel server.

For a developer looking for a simpler model of container execution without needing broader Docker daemon capabilities, then runC paired with containerd, another Docker open source project used in the Docker 1.11 and above engines, may be a good fit.
