What do you like best about Reveal (Platform)?

The software is for archiving documents so we've needed it to be steady and consistent over the nearly 20 years of using the product, but I was pleasantly surprised by the new user interface that came with our recent move to the cloud version. Cleverly, it retained its previous reassuring feel but is also so fresh and intuitive to use. Certainly a 'user version' of software in a world where many software providers seem to to design their software to suit themselves and not the customer. Big fan. What problems is Reveal (Platform) solving and how is that benefiting you?

Made to select eDiscovery in a single answer drop down!! why bother asking the question?!

I'm not a fan of jargon or any manufactured words that don't actually mean anything so I'm not sure what eDiscovery means, but in normal people's speak - we've scanned and stored 10's of thousands of paper documents which makes them central, safer, easier searchable and retrievable, from any geographical location, and been able to apply useful and legal requirements like retention periods. The AI-driven features can be extremely great for new users, requiring time and training to completely leverage its capabilities. "All in one package"

What do you like best about Reveal (Platform)?

Reveal has an end to end platform and covers all your eDiscovery needs. Their software is easy to use and user intuitive once you learn the basics. Their visual analytics make filtering and searching very easy, and their generative AI feature, Ask, is particulary helpful when trying to find answers to particular questions within your dataset. What do you dislike about Reveal (Platform)?

Coding fields requires you to enter each document, or apply an overlay in the back end, which isn't terrible but less efficient when you have alot of documents to code. Would love to see something reminicent of Summation where you can code directly in the gridview. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Reveal is compatible with a large catalogue of file types, making review significantly more efficient. It also identifies the most inclusive email thread so you are able to read one email with the entire conversation, rather than 10 emails back and forth, which cuts down review time. What problems is Reveal (Platform) solving and how is that benefiting you?

Reveal allows us to process a large variety of digital data types for eDisocvry, document review and forensic investigations by our clients. We are able to index, filter and deduplicate data prior to review. Once the data is in Review the application of technologies such as an Elastic index, Gen AI, clustering, entity extraction, conceptual search and Continuous Active Learning (CAL) allows our client to rapidly and confidently narrow in o relavant information for their investigation or matter. What do you like best about Reveal (Platform)?

My best like about Reveal is the simplicity in its use. All searching is just one dashboard for keywords, date ranges, or another other criterion. The interface is easy to guide through and very simple for new clients to comprehend and use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Reveal (Platform)?

My biggest issue with Reveal is that the company keeps rolling out new features without fixing the old features. Family members is a big problem which requires addressing. Also, I don't like how there are three separate environments for my data, the Review Manager, Discovery Manager, and the review platform. This all needs to be consolidated.

There are so many bugs, I sometimes hesitate to use it because I know there's going to be an issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Reveal (Platform) solving and how is that benefiting you?

The GenAI feature is great, and I believe this really draws people's attention. Issue at the moment is people are hesitant to try it as they are not 100% confident with it. I believe if there was some other test data, which was not Enron, perhaps created by Reveal, that would help. People have seen the Enron dataset so many times and everything seems to work there. I like that it has default dashboards that immediately give you a big picture of what's in your documents (timelines, entities, clusters, communications). It also has good supervised learning capabilities. It also has a cool feature to update the names of your fields in a dat file for productions - it's very handy. At the moment (they are working on updating this) you have three different portals (not sure what to call them) to use when you are creating a workspace / project, processing, or promoting documents. Occasionally, and especially in the immediate aftermath of a new update/patch, bugs will occur which impact user experience - although these are usually mitigated effectively by the support team through workarounds to implement while the bug is being resolved. "Lot's of potential and cost effective, but issues erode that potential"

What do you like best about Reveal (Platform)?

It's cost effective and it has a fairly intuitive AI for end users. Training and documentation has greatly improved. Our CSM is amazing and he is someone I want to keep working with. Reveal continues to add new features that enhance the tool (i.e. ASK). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Reveal (Platform)?

Continual issues and bugs plague the system. Our team has to put in numerous hours to work around Reveal's limitations/bugs to ensure client needs are met. I am on my third user account because the first two had problems that couldn't be figured out. Reporting is difficult and trying to determine data sizes, etc. is a manual process for our team. The helpdesk at one point improved, but we have seen much slower response times and poor results requiring escalation.

Example issues:

Search functionality changes without clear notice or documentation when the functionality can drastically impact client work (change in indexing of special characters, etc.)

Inability to appropriately lockdown areas of the system to safely allow multiple parties in the database.

Pushing out changes without notification (people started seeing the pdf viewer before we could prepare clients and it was officially rolled out)

Database performance - general slowness; inability to log in at times or receive errors.

Redaction options are poor.

Database sizes drastically changing without being able to determine why.
