**What do you like best about Regula?**

Regula’s technology has enabled us to achieve a 100% reliable identity document authentication process for all our clients in the financial and fintech sectors, both in Mexico and across Latin America, and for a wide range of use cases. These include verifying identity documents at bank branches and through digital channels, as well as supporting the origination process for financial products on web channels and in mobile apps.

The straightforward integration of their technology—either through their SDKs or via a robust set of APIs—into our onboarding products and financial platforms (factoring, leasing, consumer finance) has helped us meet requirements for identity document authentication and identity validation, including the use of their advanced, certified facial biometric technology.

We also have strong confidence in Regula’s technology because of its continuously updated document database, which allows us to validate documents from around the world, as well as local documents in each country.

Their technical support and service are excellent, and we work with a team of Regula experts who handle our requests quickly and effectively.

The price-to-performance ratio of their technology has also allowed us to win projects very aggressively.

Overall, performance for document validation and facial biometrics is outstanding, and the AI and intelligence capabilities align perfectly with our AI solutions portfolio.

**What do you dislike about Regula?**

We’ve run into several operational challenges with our clients, especially in Mexico and across Latin America, where identity documents can change very quickly. Regula’s main opportunity is to better handle these exceptions and incorporate them more smoothly into its products. Facial biometrics also has room to improve, particularly in the graphical interface and in how it relies on liveness verification for demanding deployments where everything needs to remain on‑premises.

**What problems is Regula solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have addressed the need for identity document validation and authentication across various digital channels. In particular, by applying security checks based on AI, visible-light validation, and infrared or ultraviolet light (in combination with a Regula document reader), we can assure both the process that integrates with us and the end customer that we deliver complete, effective, and secure validation within their flows.

A couple of drawbacks of using Regula are the occasional false positives and false negatives that can come up during ID verification. That said, this is fairly standard across the industry, and the low rate at which it happens hasn’t been a major issue for me.

Cost effective solution for our IDV product. Solves the issue of having to wait for manual reviews that we had with other providers. Also easier to implement saving our developers more time to work on other products

The product is available both on-premises and as a cloud-ready solution, which makes it suitable for small and large-scale deployments alike. The standout feature for me is the identity verification, which accurately matches selfies with ID photos. In addition, the technical support team is highly knowledgeable and does a great job resolving complex cases. It’s also easy to get started, while still being ready for deep customization when needed. Users have granular control over verification thresholds, allowing for a highly 'strict' configuration of document processing.

Regula has streamlined our user onboarding process. It is fast, reliable, and well-documented, allowing rapid implementation without direct support. The team also made tailored adjustments that delivered measurable improvements. We were confident enough to recommend it to another potential client, and it has fully lived up to its reputation — dependable, professional, and impactful.

As a technical provider being asked as a reference on was their support helpful – Being able to answer I cannot answer that as I have never been required to use them is a clear indication of their technology and solution with us growing our signoff ability by 300% in the last 3 months.

**What do you dislike about Regula?**

No significant drawbacks to date. Integration was seamless, and the system has remained stable and effective. A built-in analytics dashboard would be a welcome addition in the future to really understand usage and flow, an alert functionality on usage to allow simple everyday action with their teams.

Before Regula, onboarding was slower, error-prone, and resource-heavy. The solution delivers fast, seamless, automated identity verification, improving end-user experience, reducing operational load, and accelerating speed to market. **What do you like best about Regula?**

I like that Regula seems to work as expected for document authentication and text extraction. It also covers a wide range of countries for passports, which is really useful.

**What do you dislike about Regula?**

It would be helpful if there were documentation showing the field codes that relate to each document type, because at the moment we are having to guess which codes cover things like id number, name, country, state etc as the codes vary depending on the ID, but there isn't a way to identify this. Not having a map of ID doc types to text fields.

Regula authenticates IDs by verifying if documents are genuine. It works well for document authentication and text extraction and covers a wide range of countries for passports.

Honestly, not much to complain about. Sometimes documentation could be more detailed for edge cases, but it's a minor thing

Easy integration, flexibility, depth of settings allowing to adapt software to company needs. Prompt customer support. Good pricing. Stable performance as we had zero downtime during one year of operations.

We encountered that OCR quality is somewhat behind of what an LLM like ChatGPT can provide. But given that Regula is special software dedicated at validating ID including security elements etc. - this is probably not always related to OCR per se.

We’ve been using Regula for over two years as part of our identity verification product that includes facial biometrics — all within a fully conversational experience. The WebSDK fits well with our needs, enabling OCR, security layer checks, and manipulation detection — all without requiring the user to leave the chat. The Regula DocReader mobile SDK is very fast with the recognition of identity documents and the OCR is extremely reliable and accurate. The NFC reading capability is the best in the market, robust and provides great user guidance and error management. 
No other mobile solution I know offers so much flexibility for customisation for the user guidance and the UI. 
The consistent implementation of a zero trust model concept is another great plus and what you need for mobile centric  identity verification.
The SDK documentation is comprehensive and comes with useful examples, very helpful for the developers.

Maybe that the flexibility comes with some complexity, however the default settings are always a good starting point.

Amazing OCR and authentication solution with an extensive coverage of identity documents globally. I have recommended for multiple use cases for several organizations. Their support services are fast and responsive. Never faced any delays in responses. Their SDK can be easily integrated with web or mobile applications. Advantage is their SDK availability for windows, android, IOS and web platforms.

Always helpful and supportive since we switched from a competitor solution a few years ago.  Integrates with all the main mobile dev tools as well as a web based sdk (which we also use).  Integration is easy enough and the tech support is second to none.

The best value and top upsides of the Regula solutions are the huge and comprehensive document database, support of practically all countries and documents and the ability to run the processing on premise or on device. Great support service. Very good Dev. Hub with documentaion and examples. Really good business model for partnership.

Communication regarding the new features with the SDK updates can be further developed and presented to the customers and partners in addition to the standard release notes.

Automated data extraction and validation of documents combined with Face Match and Liveness detection - processed in an easy and intuitive way - solves all the issues and answers all the requirements related to digital on-boarding tasks and projects.

Regula solutions provide great value with several key advantages, including an extensive document database  and flexibility to run processing on-premises or on devices. Their customer support is very quick to reply any doubts or queries. Extensive and detailed Developer Hub with thorough documentation and examples.

**What do you dislike about Regula?**

My minor drawback I can find is the customer management in terms of new feature releases. Proactive communicate them via newsletter of the account manager would furhter increase the adoption of the product.

They are experts at what they do. Our clients who use Regula have claimed their solution is easy-to-use, simple and effective.

It saves them a lot of time with their reliable scanning tools. Their software is able to recognize and validate a vast array of travel documents (if not all of them) from several coountries.

I personally like their team, how friendly and transparent they are. They are also quick to respond to us.

Nothing to report. I haven't received any complaints from our clients using Regula.

It saves our clients a lot of time. It helps them scan and validate various travel documents from various countries.
