## RED Reviews
 ### 1. Valuable tool for motion graphics artists

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Erasmus i. | Key Account Manager, Higher Education, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 16, 2024

**What do you like best about RED?**

Being a motion graphics artist myself, I have realized that seamlessly the Boris RED works with common editing applications like After Effects. It gave me the capacity to generate good quality 3D title and graphical effects inspite of the editing process.

**What do you dislike about RED?**

When used separately, RED seems to lack some of the features, which might be even necessary for projects that are not concentrated on the 3D works carried out beyond the editing process.

**What problems is RED solving and how is that benefiting you?**

RED helps me to break the bond of having two different programs for 3D titling and visual effects in my editing process. It makes my work more efficient and lets me think about the form and structure more.

 ### 2. Boris's 3D titling and visual effects software | Lost gem but not so relevant in modern times

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Romi K. | App/Game Designer | UI/UX & Prototype Expert | Motion Graphics | Video Editor | GIF | JSON, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2021

**What do you like best about RED?**

Supports both 2d and 3d titles and doesn't matter whether you have a text file, png file, or vector graphics. You can still make some cool titles, lower thirds, and subs. It's standalone render engine lets you preview title right inside the tool so no need to go back to the host application and pre-render everything. Works really well with Adobe after effect, supports avid and other major applications but I have tested it only in AE.
Has a ton of presets to make your work faster.

**What do you dislike about RED?**

Comparing now to other applications or even after-effects default engine/tool to make titles feel more powerful than RED. Overall, the whole software's look and feel is kind of old, and whatever you make from it just looks like 90's movie title.
Presets are very outdated and need something relevant to modern times like the titles we see in the movie nowadays.

**Recommendations to others considering RED:**

Well, use it if you are a beginner and don't have any experience with cinema 4d and other 3d tools in After effects. Other than that it doesn't make much sense nowadays.

**What problems is RED solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used to make titles with this tool and when I was learning after-effects it was cool to mimic those 3d movie titles inside red but now I don't need to have a standalone application to do these titles or in other words, RED doesn't have anything new to offer. Fun tool for begineers.
