What I like best about HandBrake is that it's completely free and works on Windows, Mac, and Linux with no watermarks or hidden fees, which is rare for something this powerful. It handles almost any video format I throw at it and lets me compress large files down to a fraction of their size without losing noticeable quality. The batch processing feature is a huge time saver when I need to convert entire folders at once, and the preset options make it easy for someone like me who isn't a video expert to get good results quickly. What I dislike about HandBrake is that the interface is overwhelming at first; there are so many tabs and settings that it's easy to get lost if you don't know what you're doing. It only outputs to MP4, MKV, or WebM, which is frustrating when I need a different format for a specific device. Converting large files also takes forever, and I've noticed my computer slows down significantly while it's working. Sometimes the preview window glitches or shows corrupted images, which makes me worry about the final result until it's done. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
