I have tried other recognized online editor platforms, and while others (like VEED.io) are more advanced in some areas, Wave.video has more templates, features, and a better studio for live and streaming (which also replaces other solutions like OBS, Streamyard, and Streamlabs). **What do you dislike about Wave.video?** Visually not as attractive and modern as VEED.io Being used to editing in Final Cut and Adobe Premiere, a downgrade in editing dynamics is noticeable. - The stock videos are not the same quality as those on VEED.io or Envato Elements - Their stock music isn't the best, either. - In both cases, finding files with a watermark is possible. - There is no possibility of doing color correction in a file. - There is no possibility to edit or mix audio beyond turning up the volume. Tools like a compressor or equalizer are necessary for audio and video editing. It is noticeable that it still has some features in development. Its competition already has some superior features that I would love to see Wave soon, such as: - Remove silences (cut out dead air and okay pauses) - Full access to all GIPHY Gifs (and not just overlays and stickers) - Possibility to add several audio and video tracks in the timeline without being attached to the file below. - Ability to use Mac trackpad gestures to reduce or enlarge the editing timeline. **What problems is Wave.video solving and how is that benefiting you?** As a Macbook Air user, I value the possibility of editing on the cloud, instead of having to clean my disk because it's full in the middle of a project. I had to pay a lot for a famous annual subscription like Envato Elements to download all kinds of Final Cut templates, but Wave.video includes templates for all sorts of stuff. Overall, it's a great tool that has helped me save time and money. ### 5. It is an all-in-one video editing software. It is easy to use and has features like captioning, audiogram creation, text to speech, and other useful addons. You can also adjust the size easily for your video. I love that I can edit individual details within the video which is something I can't do in Canva and other video editing software programs. **What do you dislike about Wave.video?** Wave.video glitches quite a bit and has a tendency to run slow. For example, the video freezes while keeps playing making it nearly impossible to edit a video accurately. This did not happen when I first started using the software several years ago. Also, there is no way to easily monitor how GB space I am using based on the plan I have. This software has the potential to be a gamechanger if the glitches are eliminated. You can access your creative work from any device anywhere. The video tool itself is simple & easy to use, but packs some very good features which make it comparable with full feature professional video editing tools. Video editing is as simple as upload your assets, pick a template, drag & drop your assets (videos, images, logos, audio, etc.), add some text, music, animation, transitions, etc & your video is ready. The features I loved are auto resizing of video to suit different platforms - it just saves a lot of time straight away. The stock library of images, videos & audio is large - suited for most common video requirements is another good feature that makes everything happen right there on one platform. You can also have your own video landing page & video hosting service that comes with the tool. These make it very easy to create videos for all requirements. **What do you dislike about Wave.video?** There are certain features for advanced users like it doesn't have an ability to edit images & videos - like say you want to correct contrast or brightness or add a hue. But again as I said if every feature is there - it may not be that easy to use. I appreciate Wave's presets because they're already optimized for various social media platforms, and switching between them is easy as a mouse click. Social media integration is also a nice touch. I typically use my own music library and video clips, but Wave's massive library is still impressive, with a ton of flexibility to suit multiple businesses and brands. **What do you dislike about Wave.video?** Even with the various presets, the program still seems to favor 16x9 by default, which is only really useful for Youtube. It would be nice if text layers were automatically adjusted when switching to square or vertical video templates. The paywall is also a turn off. I like to keep local backups of everything I make, even if it's a short social media promo, but I can't afford to pay an extra $20 per month just to download the clips I make using Wave. I never had issues with Wave's online storage, but I still prefer the extra security of a local backup. Rendering can be sluggish at times, which I'm told is due to Wave diverting processing power to paid users. Totally understandable, but I can't confirm what render speeds are like on the other side. **Recommendations to others considering Wave.video:** If using your own clips, make sure they're optimized for vertical and square videos as well. **What problems is Wave.video solving and how is that benefiting you?** Social media versioning, online marketing, text overlays. Due to the above mentioned storage/subscription issues, I've since reverted back to Premiere for most of my versioning needs, but Wave is still a solid option. **Official Response from Yulia Shevardenkova:** > Garret, thanks for the review! I would not fully agree that our app favors classic landscape videos, it's just not that easy to automatically change the layout after you resize the whole project. Especially when you changing it from the horizontal to a vertical one. I have found some very high quality videos that enhanced my marketing video. The text animation features are limited, but do the trick. The best feature of Wave is the one-click changes to the size of the video to fit various social media assets -- square for Insta, FB header dimensions, etc. **What do you dislike about Wave.video?** I wish there was search filter for free photos/videos/audio. I need to keep my costs low so I usually have to use the free assets, though I'm glad to have such high quality free assets. The music search can be cumbersome since I am very discerning about the quality of the music I use, so I wish there was a way to save favorite music, or be shown more music by the same composer. **Recommendations to others considering Wave.video:** I used Animoto briefly a few years ago but I did not get access to the stock photos and videos. That was a big selling point for me, and also a great special offer for those who follow Mari Smith. **What problems is Wave.video solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro and had been creating all of our marketing videos myself, with my own templates. Even though I can create videos myself, I love that with Wave I have access to the high quality stock photos, videos, and audio, and can make a short marketing video very quickly.
