"A Consultant’s Take on RatedPower"
What do you like best about RatedPower?

RatedPower has been a reliable part of my toolkit for nearly a year. I use it for bid-phase techno-economic analyses and for early feasibility on in-house developments. The interface is intuitive, onboarding is minimal, and runs complete quickly with results that are consistent across iterations. Its ability to evaluate multiple plant architectures in parallel—layouts, inverter concepts, DC/AC ratios, and interconnection options—materially shortens decision cycles and improves confidence that the selected design is cost-optimal. Scenario management and version control support disciplined tender governance and traceability. Exported outputs integrate cleanly with internal models and procurement workflows. In short: fast, coherent, and easy to use. For EPC/IPP teams that need to converge on bankable designs under time pressure, RatedPower provides a pragmatic balance of rigor and speed. What do you dislike about RatedPower?

Limited flexibility to model diverse high-voltage interconnection architectures; limited granular control for custom components; uneven coverage of country-specific grid codes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"RatedPower is a solid tool for early-stage solar project design."
What do you like best about RatedPower?

I mainly use it for concept designs, and it’s been helpful in quickly generating layouts and getting a sense of project feasibility. The interface is straightforward, and it does what it promises without unnecessary complexity. I use it quite often.

One thing I appreciate is their responsive support team—they’re always willing to help when needed. The webinars are also a nice touch, offering useful insights and updates on the platform and industry trends. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about RatedPower?

I haven't really been able to use it for optimization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Enhanced Efficiency and Accuracy in Solar Plant Design with RatedPower"
What do you like best about RatedPower?

I’ve really noticed how much it has improved since I first started using it five years ago. It’s truly impressive to see the progress that has been made over time. A huge congratulations to the entire team for their hard work and dedication. I’m genuinely thrilled to see how it continues to get better and better with each update. Keep up the great work! What do you dislike about RatedPower?

There are definitely a lot of exciting improvements on the horizon, and it’s clear that the future looks promising. However, I still feel that the grading model could benefit from some further refinement to enhance its accuracy and usability. Additionally, integrating more seamlessly with other design software tools would be incredibly valuable and would significantly improve the overall user experience. I’m really looking forward to seeing how these areas evolve in the future! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Good product for project developers"
What do you like best about RatedPower?

As a regular user, I use this tool almost daily to make power estimates. It allows for a large number of iterations with little effort, which greatly speeds up the work. Additionally, it is easy to implement different types of constraints according to the project's needs. The integration with PVSyst is quite simple and efficient. Without a doubt, the most outstanding aspect of the platform is its customer support, which has always been quick and precise. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about RatedPower?

The layout editor is very useful for adjusting certain aspects of the project, although it can become tedious when it comes to making deeper modifications. For now, it is not possible to integrate existing projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive and Effective with Excellent Support"
What do you like best about RatedPower?

I like that RatedPower is intuitive to use and, in case of encountering an obstacle, it is very easy to contact the team and receive their help. I especially like the Layout editor function to make the layouts resemble as closely as possible what has been built. Additionally, RatedPower gives more freedom to make several designs in the same project and they are constantly improving their product. The initial setup was very, very easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about RatedPower?

It would be nice to be able to minimally edit the plots and restrictions in the layout editor because sometimes you don't know that the roads, for example, won't fit. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Helpful Features for Electrical Estimation, But Room for Improvement"
What do you like best about RatedPower?

This software offers a range of features that are particularly helpful for the electrical aspects, making it easier to estimate the maximum power of a plant or a BESS system. Customer support is also very corteous and efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about RatedPower?

Drawing feels awkward because the design section lacks versatility, and at the moment, importing projects is not supported. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Helpful tool, which still has potential for improvement"
What do you like best about RatedPower?

With RatedPower, it is easy to create layout plans for PV or BESS systems. The program allows users to create layout plans and a rough layout even without a technical background, enabling the calculation of the potential energy generation of an area. The operation is mostly simple and intuitive. By being able to choose between different PV systems, it is quick and easy to plan different layouts to determine the optimal area utilization. The integration of BESS also offers a special added value. This allows for the implementation of storage layouts or PV-BESS combinations. These combinations are a frequently used feature of RatedPower.

The customer support is particularly noteworthy. If you have questions, you will receive prompt and comprehensive assistance via email or phone. The RatedPower team is also open to suggestions for improvement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about RatedPower?

One point I don't like about RatedPower is the ability to customize layouts individually. It is just difficult to rearrange modules or paths within the planned park. This function is unfortunately completely missing in BESS. Additionally, components like storage or transformer stations are missing in BESS layouts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy of use"
What do you like best about RatedPower?

RatedPower is an excellent tool for anyone working in the renewable energy sector. The software is super easy to understand, with a very friendly and intuitive interface. It has everything a renewable energy company needs to design a solar farm efficiently and with confidence. On top of that, the customer support team is responsive and very helpful, making the whole experience even better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about RatedPower?

What I liked the least is that there is no third-party verification of the results presented in the reports, which would add an extra layer of reliability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A great tool for preliminary designs of large-scale ground-mount PV systems."
What do you like best about RatedPower?

Very easy to use, with the ability to run multiple variants quickly. Offers extensive options for output files and comes with excellent technical support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about RatedPower?

BESS is a relatively new feature and still needs improvements to deliver more accurate energy analyses. Shading losses are calculated using a 2D model, which sometimes makes it challenging to match the overall yield results in more specialized tools like PVsyst. "Revolutionising PV Solar Project Design"
What do you like best about RatedPower?

The standout feature of Rated Power is its remarkable efficiency in streamlining the design process for large-scale PV solar projects. The software's intuitive interface makes it incredibly user-friendly, enabling quick adoption by team members regardless of their technical background. The ability to complete projects in a fraction of the time—reducing the design period from months to just one week—is a game-changer. Additionally, the comprehensive functionalities, including automated drawing generation and accurate bills of materials, make it a one-stop solution that simplifies the workflow and enhances productivity. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about RatedPower?

One drawback of Rated Power could be its dependency on a stable internet connection for optimal performance, which may pose challenges in areas with unreliable service. Additionally, while the software is feature-rich, some users might find the range of options overwhelming at first. More guided tutorials or onboarding resources could enhance user confidence and expedite the learning process. Lastly, as with any specialised software, ongoing updates could ensure that the tool keeps pace with evolving industry standards and emerging technologies. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
