"Fast Layout & PVC Output, but CAD/PVC Accuracy and PVsyst Import Issues Need Work"
What do you like best about RatedPower?

It quickly generates the layout, BOM, SLD, etc., with minimal effort. It also generates the PVSC file, which is very useful for the PVsyst layout. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about RatedPower?

There are multiple issues. First, the accuracy of the generated files (CAD, PVC, etc.) needs improvement. Second, sometimes RatedPower seems to use its own default inputs instead of the inputs provided by the user. Third, it does not take into account the shadowing of objects within the specified time window.

Also, when using the PVC file created by RatedPower and importing it into PVsyst, it generates an additional orientation that is different from what we have defined in PVsyst. Because of this, we have to delete one orientation. The problem is that the losses in both orientations are different, so the results change depending on which orientation is kept.

Finally, it lacks several inputs required for solar and BESS projects, and there is no customization available in the BOM and layout sections. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Empowers Non-Engineers, Needs Smoother Performance"
What do you like best about RatedPower?

I use RatedPower for creating PV and BESS site layouts. I appreciate that it allows someone, even without CAD or technical engineering experience, to create accurate site layouts and understand the impact of constraints. It's very quick to see the impact of site design changes. Without needing to pull in an engineer, I can understand how changes to constraints, landowners, or other site decisions impact my eventual production and MW size. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about RatedPower?

Sometimes, RatedPower can be a little buggy or finnicky, but usually, a refresh or a reload does the trick. I also think having better team features, like setting a design as 'active' or having version history of designs rather than all designs being separate, could be good. "A powerful tool to generate fast screening and report for preliminary design of PV plants"
What do you like best about RatedPower?

It's very easy to learn. With a few clicks you can generate layouts, single line diagrams and financial plans for utility scale PV plants. It also has a great customer support. The graphic output can be integrated into CAD software almost immediately.

The last updates allow the designer to simulate a 3D view and have an immediate evidence of the shadowing of the modules.

The layout editor now has new features implemented to tweak every aspect of the design. It is also possible now the editing of the bess layouts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about RatedPower?

Some features require time to be mastered correctly. It could be useful use two different size string inverters as you can do for centralized inverter. Layout editor updated but still with a few bugs (i.e. the streets are not on the ground but "float" on it in some points (maybe because of the terrain topography?). Response from Emilio García Sánchez of RatedPower

Thank you for sharing your experience with RatedPower! We're thrilled to hear that you find our platform easy to learn and appreciate our customer support. Your feedback on mastering certain features and the limitations of the Layout Editor is valuable to us, and we'll work on improving these aspects.

We'll also explore the possibility of incorporating the option to use two different size string inverters. It's great to know that RatedPower is helping you efficiently evaluate different solutions for PV plants. If you have any more suggestions or need assistance, please feel free to reach out. We're here to help! Thanks for your trust in RatedPower and Enverus.

"Quickly Quantify Areas into Power Plants"
What do you like best about RatedPower?

How quickly you can quantify specific areas into actual power plants. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about RatedPower?

In regards to the new BESS-features, I am still lacking the possibility of making a representative financial model of the arbitrage case, as it is not possible to count in tariffs at the moment. Likewise, I am also using the BESS-features for making early design layouts, in which the flexibillity could be improved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simplifying early-stage solar project design"
What do you like best about RatedPower?

What we like best about RatedPower is its ability to quickly compare multiple PV design scenarios in early-stage development. It allows us to optimize LCOE, efficiently generate and adjust layouts considering land constraints, and clearly understand how technical decisions impact both energy production and costs. This speed and clarity make it a very powerful tool for early decision-making. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about RatedPower?

One aspect that could be improved is the management of land and constraints in the layout. It would be very helpful to work more easily with multiple cadastral plots, allowing plots to be added or removed as land agreements evolve.

Additionally, the ability to include custom constraint layers (such as power line easements, rivers, roads, or other exclusion zones) would greatly enhance layout accuracy and better reflect real development conditions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy, Detailed PV & BESS Designs with Flexible Plans and Team Collaboration"
What do you like best about RatedPower?

The ease at which you can generate detailed PV & BESS designs. The improved membership plans that don't limit users and projects. Allows teh entire team to work on a collaborative platform and process multiple projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about RatedPower?

Formating the reports and documentation can be challenging and not user friendly. Also comparing design metrics is a bit clunky. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fast, Efficient Early-Stage Feasibility Assessment tool"
What do you like best about RatedPower?

Easy to carry out early-stage feasibility assessments efficiently when screening land plots by evaluating the maximum achievable capacity without having to employ detail design tools. For our purposes, it is useful that we can retrieve preliminary layouts and plant BOQ for early-stage EPC costing Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about RatedPower?

Currently RatedPower limits how you can edit an existing layout like moving structures and changing block configurations. The biggest downside is having to always adjust the KMZ externally if there are new exclusions, time consuming. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Consultant’s Take on RatedPower"
What do you like best about RatedPower?

RatedPower has been a reliable part of my toolkit for nearly a year. I use it for bid-phase techno-economic analyses and for early feasibility on in-house developments. The interface is intuitive, onboarding is minimal, and runs complete quickly with results that are consistent across iterations. Its ability to evaluate multiple plant architectures in parallel—layouts, inverter concepts, DC/AC ratios, and interconnection options—materially shortens decision cycles and improves confidence that the selected design is cost-optimal. Scenario management and version control support disciplined tender governance and traceability. Exported outputs integrate cleanly with internal models and procurement workflows. In short: fast, coherent, and easy to use. For EPC/IPP teams that need to converge on bankable designs under time pressure, RatedPower provides a pragmatic balance of rigor and speed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about RatedPower?

Limited flexibility to model diverse high-voltage interconnection architectures; limited granular control for custom components; uneven coverage of country-specific grid codes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Quick facility layout planning with the option for detailed elaboration"
What do you like best about RatedPower?

One can plan facility layouts quickly and easily, but also has the option to go into great detail if needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about RatedPower?

Currently, it is not possible to plan different areas with different mounting systems. Additionally, the fence is missing in the 3D representation. Other features are also missing, such as the 3D representation of tracking systems in tilted mode, a 3D view of battery storage, or the ability to place trees to simulate partial shading. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
