The tool has capability of running project on Kanban, Scrum, etc. Well structured and has different view/dashboards and customizable settings that helps each team member as well the Scrum master to view the project user stories easily. Reports can be pulled with various criteria and filters based on the team's need. Reports for technology team, business team, audit team can all be generated based on the need using the customize option. The custom tags are very helpful in segregating the user stories based on the project needs. The drag and drop of the user stories across various phases makes life easier. The "watchers" option for tasks are very good value adds. This also initiates the email if anything changed on the task. This feature helps to be up to date on the task status. **What do you dislike about Rally Software?** Some of the options/buttons are not available when the user story is viewed in the short view at the right pane. Most of the options/buttons are visible in the detailed view only. Not sure if there is a option to see the list of tasks of a owner or to list the user stories that do not have any tasks attached to it. This makes user to expand each user story to check if tasks are present or not. **Recommendations to others considering Rally Software:** One stop tool for running agile projects. **What problems is Rally Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** The discussion board which is the option available for each user story eliminates the need to send out emails to business team rather the notification from the discussion board can be sent as automated email. Even though I can make a predecessor or successor user story, it is not easy to see the respective dependencies and it is easy to make them get lost. Also, sometimes ranking does not reflect easily, especially because you cannot multi-select stories and bulk edit their ranking/prioritization. This iterative approach has helped us see higher and better deliverables every sprint. **What do you dislike about Rally Software?** It can be somewhat complex and overwhelming for a person getting newly acquainted to the tool, unless of course detailed training is provided. It's extreme rich with features and this can cause confusion in user minds in terms of usage and the importance of those features. **What problems is Rally Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** When the team was being set up, we wanted a tool that could help us align our work in an organised manner. A tool that could help us break a big task into smaller ones, help with allocation of tasks, help with tracking the progress of our work in real time, help checkout our team's day to day capacitor real time. And Rally was one of the tools that we evaluated and it fared comparatively better on a lot of parameters as compared to its peers, hence we went ahead with it. Story management made easier, It offers a quick way of quickly entering a number of user stories without losing the overview, by just typing the title and selecting a few attributes directly in the overview screen. **What do you dislike about Rally Software?** Workflow is fixed in CA Agile Central & can not be customized as per your team needs, which can be easily carried out in JIRA. Example: In CA Agile Central we have states “Defined”, “In progress”, “Completed” and “Accepted” and there is no way to change those names or add new states into it. Burn down charts can be generated only with fixed attributes. So if your team is not burning hours or your team does not create tasks, you will not get to see burn down charts. **Recommendations to others considering Rally Software:** If your organisation is planning to adopt Scaled Agile Framework Methodology (SAFe) without being worried about cost, CA Agile Central is one of the best tools. Here, you can look at various release trains and how that then flows up to the overall program budget. **What problems is Rally Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** CA Central Agile enables agile delivery with ease and provides comprehensive features to track time-boxes, Work In Progress items of the forecast increments. UI needs improvement. Every screen there are no popup windows. Its single frame UI makes it very difficult to open different tasks/stories & more frustrating if the senior management wants to track various stories or teams. ### 27. Have issues with UI while using it on Internet Explorer or Mozilla. 3. Creating test cases and reporting defects are a bit complicated, for which we normally use HP-ALM integrated with rally. 4. Features with similar or common names are difficult to search 5. It is easy to see how the feature is coming along and see your capacity of when the feature will be complete. I also use it daily for scrum meetings. The iteration feature lets you view each developer and what they have in progress. Easy to tell if they are not focusing and finishing their tasks. CA Agile also has a nice feature to split user stories across sprints. It is good tool for planning sprints. You can enter the capacity for each developer for the sprint and assign them user stories appropriately. CA Agile is also highly configurable you can set up dashboards and reports to how you work. You can create a dashboard for blocked task to focus immediately on blocke issues. It is easy to create and edit features, user stories and defects. **What do you dislike about Rally Software?** I like CA Agile. I would say my dislike would be that sometimes when I am making a lot of changes it doesn't save quick enough and the system thinks their is a conflict with the changes. CA Agile has a different user experience than Jira. Jira has more types of stories that you can build out for filtering and more custom reporting if you know the query language. Not all reports can be exported from the system. I often try to tag items to track them for a release. The release reports don't have an export button.
