What do you like best about Rally Software?

The complete requirement of Agile process and workflows all in one tool. The tool has capability of running project on Kanban, Scrum, etc. Well structured and has different view/dashboards and customizable settings that helps each team member as well the Scrum master to view the project user stories easily. Reports can be pulled with various criteria and filters based on the team's need. Reports for technology team, business team, audit team can all be generated based on the need using the customize option. The custom tags are very helpful in segregating the user stories based on the project needs. The drag and drop of the user stories across various phases makes life easier.

The "watchers" option for tasks are very good value adds. This also initiates the email if anything changed on the task. This feature helps to be up to date on the task status. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Rally Software?

Some of the options/buttons are not available when the user story is viewed in the short view at the right pane. Most of the options/buttons are visible in the detailed view only.

Not sure if there is a option to see the list of tasks of a owner or to list the user stories that do not have any tasks attached to it. This makes user to expand each user story to check if tasks are present or not. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Rally Software solving and how is that benefiting you?

The discussion board which is the option available for each user story eliminates the need to send out emails to business team rather the notification from the discussion board can be sent as automated email. What do you like best about Rally Software?

Organizing sprints, making user stories, linking stories, adding details, prioritization, easy to update, easy to use. It is good to easily share the links and user story numbers too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Dependencies on stories are not well reflected. Even though I can make a predecessor or successor user story, it is not easy to see the respective dependencies and it is easy to make them get lost. Also, sometimes ranking does not reflect easily, especially because you cannot multi-select stories and bulk edit their ranking/prioritization. What do you like best about Rally Software?

It encourages continuous improvement by offering retrospective and feedback loop features which enables my team to reflect on our sprint by sprint progress, which enables us to incorporate any necessary adjustments. What do you dislike about Rally Software?

It can be somewhat complex and overwhelming for a person getting newly acquainted to the tool, unless of course detailed training is provided. It's extreme rich with features and this can cause confusion in user minds in terms of usage and the importance of those features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Rally Software solving and how is that benefiting you?

When the team was being set up, we wanted a tool that could help us align our work in an organised manner. A tool that could help us break a big task into smaller ones, help with allocation of tasks, help with tracking the progress of our work in real time, help checkout our team's day to day capacitor real time. And Rally was one of the tools that we evaluated and it fared comparatively better on a lot of parameters as compared to its peers, hence we went ahead with it. It streamlined the processes of a newly established team and helped us in getting automated with our progress. From manual work in excels, we graduated to automation through Rally!
