## About ProsperOps
ProsperOps is a fully automated, multi-cloud cost optimization platform for AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. Eliminating cloud waste and managing spend is one of the most persistent challenges for FinOps teams. Cloud usage is inherently elastic, but the financial instruments used to manage cost like Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, and Committed Use Discounts are rigid. ProsperOps bridges this gap by integrating automated rate optimization with intelligent workload optimization, allowing organizations to continuously align cost with usage without manual oversight. Founded in 2018, ProsperOps helps FinOps and engineering teams reduce costs, mitigate financial risk, and eliminate the operational burden of cloud cost management. The platform is governed by customer-defined controls and operates autonomously in the background to execute thousands of real-time optimizations that respond to evolving usage patterns, architectural changes, and business demands. This allows teams to reclaim time and reinvest their cloud budget into the initiatives that move the business forward.

## ProsperOps Reviews
  ### 1. If you're not using ProsperOps, what are you thinking?

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Larry H. | VP, Product, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 12, 2023

**What do you like best about ProsperOps?**

I've used ProsperOps in three organizations now and I plan to do so every time. In summary, PO is "hands free" from human management, extremely effective at what it does and easy to integrate into process.

Firstly, ProsperOps is so incredibly simple to use and almost entirely hands free after setup. You just let it run and it manages everything for you in a completely automated fashion. We had a person doing this for us and were able to retask them on more useful functions like reporting and analysis because this workload was no longer a concern!

PO is SUPER effective at managing cost savings. Obviously Savings Plans are easy but the way they manage RIs enables us to save super high dollar amounts and ALSO to have a low time commitment. It's hard to explain but PO manages commits on cadence that eventually only has a 30 day renewal. That is, you can get 3 year discounts but only effectively have a 30 day commit to AWS. Trust me, I do not work there and have no reason to lie. It really does work that way.

Lastly, integrating PO into our stack was super easy. They prebuild the CF templates for you and have a bunch of detailed reporting so your accounting/finance folks can handle the "true up" to the books. It's super easy to make this all work from both a human and technical perspective.

All in all, you're nuts if you're not using PO. If you don't save at least 30% on your EC2 costs, you will save money. If you already save that much, you'll instead save a lot of time not having to babysit your RI commits. In either case, you win.

**What do you dislike about ProsperOps?**

There's really not much to say here. The only thing I've had issue with is that the explanation of what they do is really hard to understand because of how AWS does RIs. It's difficult to get buy in within your org because so few people can actually understand the technique and it sounds too good to be true. Have faith and persist and I promise you'll look like a hero once it's deployed.

**What problems is ProsperOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PO manages our RIs and SPs on AWS completely hands off. We don't need a FinOps team to manage this part of the work at all and we can retask our limited personnel toward value adding work like cost accounting and reports for app teams.

  ### 2. All-around great experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gregg C. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 12, 2023

**What do you like best about ProsperOps?**

The staff are always thorough and very knowledable about the services they provide and the nuances of the public cloud providers. Integrating the ProsperOps platform into our AWS accounts was a very easy and quick process, and something that just continues to work without any intervention moving forward.

In a world of automation, GitOps, IaC, container orchestration, and auto-scaling events, it's great to rely on a platform that responds in near real-time to infrastructure changes without any user intervention.

**What do you dislike about ProsperOps?**

There isn't anything to not like about ProsperOps. However, it would be great if their service supported AWS managed services, as well as other public cloud providers, such as GCP and Azure. All of which are probably part of a future roadmap, so it's hard for me to hold any of this against ProsperOps.

**What problems is ProsperOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing reservations, savings plans, and other cost saving offerings from public cloud providers, including AWS, can be an arduous task. ProsperOps offers a service to not only manage all of these, but constantly poll the resources that are provisioned at a given time and make adjustments to existing reservations and plans based on the results. The platform is also tunable in the sense of defining the level of coverage and potential risk you want to carry throughout a planned time frame, which makes it flexible for changing/growing organizations.

Most of all, ProsperOps is saving my organization money.

  ### 3. An easy way to reduce your AWS bill

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Games | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2023

**What do you like best about ProsperOps?**

ProsperOps has a fairly simple one-time setup, after which we've seen monthly savings with no attention required on our part. I get an email each month highlighting the thousands of dollars saved by using their service. There is also a web dashboard to review how savings are calculated in great detail.

Cost optimization of EC2 instances on AWS can be a complex and time-consuming process. ProsperOps has devised an AWS-approved way to automate most of this and get those discounts without ongoing attention or effort.

The onboarding team at ProsperOps was also extremely helpful - they answered our questions thoroughly and did a lot of the heavy lifting to get the product set up on our AWS accounts.

**What do you dislike about ProsperOps?**

When ProsperOps first explained how they achieve their savings, it sounds like they are exploiting a loophole in AWS's pricing structure. However, it appears that AWS approves this method and expects it to be used.

Beyond that, we have not had any reason to dislike this service!

**What problems is ProsperOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

On-Demand EC2 instances are easy to deploy, but they are also the most expensive. Taking advantage of reserved instances saves a lot of money, but requires long-term commitments and ongoing attention from developers. Other methods of saving money on EC2 instances are also complex and require close attention.

ProsperOps solves this by automating the application of cost-saving mechanisms to reduce the cost of EC2 instances. As a result, we benefit from cost savings without having to commit time and resources to thinking about reserved instances or other savings strategies.

  ### 4. Hands-down the best AWS EC2 rate optimisation tool out there

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** P B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 12, 2023

**What do you like best about ProsperOps?**

The amount of effort we have to put into it: close to none. Starting from the implementation all the way to supporting our business at times of change. The team is knowledgable, on-point at what they do. Feature wise the tool exhausts the technical capabilities offered by AWS for rate optimisation. As users we only provide a couple of parameters and strategic choices.

**What do you dislike about ProsperOps?**

The only downside of PropserOps is that it is not cheap (it is reasonably priced).

**What problems is ProsperOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

EC2 compute rate optimisation when having fluctuations in the fleet both in horisontal and vertical sense.

  ### 5. Effective Cost Optimization, but Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 05, 2023

**What do you like best about ProsperOps?**

ProsperOps streamlines cost optimization with its intuitive user interface and clear, step-by-step guidance for implementing cost-saving measures. It stands out for its automatic cost optimization recommendations, which effortlessly lead to noticeable savings. Additionally, the platform offers valuable insights into cost allocation and spending patterns.

Customer support from ProsperOps is consistently responsive and helpful, adding to the overall positive experience. In terms of cost-effectiveness, ProsperOps significantly reduces cloud infrastructure costs, often exceeding its own pricing. This makes it a strong recommendation for businesses seeking efficient cloud cost optimization without a substantial time investment.

**What do you dislike about ProsperOps?**

ProsperOps could benefit from better intuitive features and customization options, while maintaining a robust core functionality. Enhancements in advanced customization and detailed reporting would be valuable. Additionally, the platform could improve its documentation and self-help resources for users seeking guidance. Pricing transparency also needs attention, as estimating costs in advance can be challenging. For users requiring highly customized solutions and more advanced analytics, exploring additional options may be worthwhile.

**What problems is ProsperOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ProsperOps primarily addresses the challenge of managing and optimizing cloud infrastructure costs. This benefit is significant as it helps our organization save money by automatically identifying and implementing cost-saving measures. ProsperOps effectively optimizes cloud expenses, ensuring we get the most value out of our cloud resources without the need for extensive manual intervention. The platform's automatic cost optimization recommendations have proven to be highly beneficial in reducing our overall cloud spending, allowing us to allocate resources more efficiently and invest those savings in other areas of our business.

  ### 6. Automated AWS Savings

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rob M. | Chief Technology Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 12, 2023

**What do you like best about ProsperOps?**

We were introduced to ProsperOps by a partner of theirs, CloudZero. ProsperOps analyzed our use and immediately provided a great deal of advice on how to improve our savings. We were already advanced on the savings front but ProsperOps took us to the next level with incredibly smart and informed people and then automated savings that work in a safe and reliable manner without any funnel or security concerns.

**What do you dislike about ProsperOps?**

No downsides. It's a no brainier if you're on AWS.

**What problems is ProsperOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automation of AWS savings

**Reviewed by:** David S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2023

**What do you like best about ProsperOps?**

It saves us a great deal of money over the long term by helping us not waste cloud space which we used to do a great deal of.

**What do you dislike about ProsperOps?**

No negatives to speak of so far, we've had quite a good experience.

**What problems is ProsperOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our cloud costs were legitametly unreal, so ProsperOps has really helped us a lot in lowering these.

Simple onboarding, Simple integration , Ease of using dashboard & see the actual savings

**What do you dislike about ProsperOps?**

Nothinh much as of now, would like to see more products getting support of commitment like Dynamo DB, RDS etc..

**What problems is ProsperOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are mainly using this to manage our commitments for EC2

  ### 9. ProsperOps EC2 Cost Optimization

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael B. | Global Director of DevOps & SRE (Acting CISO), Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 12, 2023

**What do you like best about ProsperOps?**

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matthew J. | Sr Staff DevOps Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 02, 2023

**What do you like best about ProsperOps?**

As a relatively sophisticated user of AWS, we were already well over 90% coverage from RIs and savings plans before we started working with ProsperOps. We've managed to cut our EC2 rates by almost 20% more thanks to them, and significantly reduced the overhead on the DevOps team into the bargain.

**What do you dislike about ProsperOps?**

I regret not starting it myself, but they've done it better than I would anyway.

**What problems is ProsperOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automating AWS reservations to improve flexibility, coverage, and utilization, effectively getting us a significantly better discount on EC2 spend.

  ### 11. ProsperOps isn't a instance win but could be in long run

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2023

**What do you like best about ProsperOps?**

The reports they have behind the tool are helpful when you request monthly/quarterly reviews. They are fairly quick to respond and answer any of our questions.

**What do you dislike about ProsperOps?**

For companies with spiky EC2 usage the tool might not save as much are you hope.

**What problems is ProsperOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Suppose to use AI to buy and sell convertiable AWS RIs to save us money.

  ### 12. Set-and-save - achieve maximum savings

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2023

**What do you like best about ProsperOps?**

I love how it's a proper set-and-save solution. Not only did my effective rate increase significantly - but the amount of time I spent buying and laddering savings plans reduced substantially. Also, their support and customer services are fantastic, with rapid response times.

**What do you dislike about ProsperOps?**

Nothing to call out-- they've been just an awesome company to work with.

**What problems is ProsperOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The platform removed the manual process of reservation / savings plan laddering & allowed my organization to receive optimal effective savings rate while mitigating the risk that comes with savings plans.

  ### 13. A good experience while saving money

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Quang L. | SDET | DevOps , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 03, 2023

**What do you like best about ProsperOps?**

The handoff approach where we can see results monthly without much work

**What do you dislike about ProsperOps?**

The initial setup and understanding ProsperOps logic behind their cost-saving approach

**What problems is ProsperOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ProsperOps helped us reduce cost for AWS EC2 instance. We used more AWS resource for development, but the cost increased little.

  ### 14. Best Cost Optimization solution for AWS

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2023

**What do you like best about ProsperOps?**

ProsperOps has helped us realize millions of savings globally. We like that it is an action-oriented managed service. We set parameters around coverage and risk, and they take actions with the best AWS financial instruments to meet our goals. Other platforms just make recommendations vs taking action.

**What do you dislike about ProsperOps?**

It is just AWS today. We would like ProsperOps to support cost optimization on Azure and GCP as well, with Azure being higher priority. We would also like expansion to other services on AWS beyond EC2.

**What problems is ProsperOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ProsperOps is taking action to lower our AWS costs through Reserved Instances and Savings Plans, resulting in lower costs and higher margins for our business, our partners and their customers

  ### 15. Proper Ops

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2023

**What do you like best about ProsperOps?**

They have very personable and helpful. They are responsive when you need them and proactive in monitoring our environments.

**What do you dislike about ProsperOps?**

some of the billing and purchases can be difficult to sort out and explain to others.

**What problems is ProsperOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

they are helping to reduce our AWS Cloud Spend

  ### 16. Tracking our cost expenditures for AWS Compute Resources (EC2, Fargate & Lambda) is brilliant

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ravi C. | Cloud Engineer, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 13, 2022

**What do you like best about ProsperOps?**

The level of access required for ProsperOps is only the least privileged access which gives a sense of assurity & reliability to us. It doesn't require any Agents to passively monitor our compute resources and we give a simplistic IAM role for its cost analysis. This role can be defined in such a way that ProsperOps doesn't have access privileges that could impact our application performance or security concerns which is convenient. It follows a top-notch SP (Savings Plan) Portfolio management which always fulfills our net cloud budget requirements.

**What do you dislike about ProsperOps?**

We have difficulty in dealing with our EC2 capacity reservations as ProsperOps only includes Regional reserved instances. For overcoming this, we opt for on-demand capacity reservation which is undertaken by the AWS platform itself. We can integrate multiple AWS accounts associated with our project into ProsperOps for analyzing all our computational resource usage and provide aggregated cloud savings.

**What problems is ProsperOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The majority of our cloud expenditure comes from the utilization of EC2 instances, Fargate deployments and Lambda executions in our organization. ProsperOps handles our migrating workloads effectively with its automatic discount portfolio adjustments based on the variations at any point in time. Apart from viewing the billing separately in ProsperOps dashboard, we may carry on with purchasing its service from AWS Marketplace in case we would want to see the consolidated charges on AWS billings. Currently, we are using ProsperOps for the AWS platform and we are in discussion with our clients to include it for our Microsoft Azure as well for utilizing its cloud cost management & visibility features.

  ### 17. Best service for AWS compute cost optimisation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Slawomir Z. | Chief Architect, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 25, 2021

**What do you like best about ProsperOps?**

ProsperOps is saving me a massive amount of time optimizing our compute spend with AWS so that we can focus on building the product. Since we started, our Effective Savings Rate has increased by 20.1%. ProsperOps cover 96% of your compute on-demand spend, and our saving tools are 99.9% utilized!

What I really love about ProsperOps flexible commitments is the fact that they can be squashed allowing for drops in our AWS compute spend without fear or penaly of overcommitted discounts.

Configuration for AWS was straightforward, and the onboarding process was very detailed. I was amazed at how flexible their instruments can be for the AWS environment. They are indeed experts in infrastructure cost optimization - they even recommended most optimal configuration of our AWS accounts to maximise savings.

I love the personal communication we receive from Chris (CEO). They are SOC2 compliant and AWS Advanced Technology Partner which gives me full assurance of their organizational and technological security controls.

**What do you dislike about ProsperOps?**

I only regret I didn't start working with ProsperOps earlier.

**Recommendations to others considering ProsperOps:**

Don't wait if you have a big AWS compute presence. ProsperOps will save you time and money.

**What problems is ProsperOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ProsperOps helps us optimize our AWS Infrastructure spend. Without ProsperOps, compute optimization would require a lot of time internally. We save time and money.

  ### 18. Love the time and money savings delivered!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brian H. | Senior Engineering Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 18, 2021

**What do you like best about ProsperOps?**

ProsperOps is a set it and forget cost-management tool. In the past, I'm used to staring at RI reports and then spending hours making decisions on which purchses and changes to make. With ProsperOps, I decide what % of compute spend should be in 1 year and 3 year RIs and like magic, it just works.

Ths is a huge time savings and has increased our RI savings too for minimal cost. We are at 33.9% cost savings over on-demand EC2 instances.

**What do you dislike about ProsperOps?**

I'd love to see cost management expanded to other services like RDS and Elasticache (however, I get why that is challenging since those are less flexible than EC2 RIs)

**What problems is ProsperOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ProsperOps is solving AWS EC2 reserved instance cost-management. Prior to ProsperOps, we were manually managing EC2 RIs and spending hours per month doing so. We've seen our cost-savings improve while saving hours per-month of an engineers time.

  ### 19. ProsperOps' Autonomous Cost Optimization Saves Us Thousands!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James D. | Chief Technology Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 16, 2021

**What do you like best about ProsperOps?**

I love how ProsperOps is very simple and easy to setup, requires little to no maintenance or time managing the solution, and yet has delivered significant savings on our cloud computing bills, around 15%!

**What do you dislike about ProsperOps?**

After a full year using the service, I have identified zero downsides!

**What problems is ProsperOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There are opportunities within the AWS ecosystem to generate significant savings, but the time, research, and work required to put these strategies in place and keep them implemented each week would be cost prohibitive. ProsperOps autonomous cost optimization platform automatically identifies these opportunities and has made hundreds of programmatic changes to our account which have generated 15% savings on our cloud compute bill. That 15% is net of any fees paid to ProsperOps, as their service is paid out of the savings we generate. It is truly a no brainer solution for a growing technology startup with significant AWS usage.

  ### 20. ProsperOps is absolutely nailing RI portfolio management for our AWS accounts

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 21, 2021

**What do you like best about ProsperOps?**

ProsperOps follows a plug-and-forget model. They use advanced optimization techniques to always squash the maximum out of the saving possibilities given by AWS.

ProsperOps takes a cut of the savings they generate, which creates a business model with goals that are perfectly aligned with the ones of the customers.

**What do you dislike about ProsperOps?**

Nothing really. I would wouch for a lower rate if possible.

**What problems is ProsperOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ProsperOps manages AWS savings instruments on our behalf and covers 98% of our compute on-demand spend. These savings instruments are 98.9% utilized.
Since starting the ProsperOps service, our Effective Savings Rate has increased by 22.2% (this is net of their charge).

By actively managing our portfolio, ProsperOps allows us to not have to care about RI management.

  ### 21. Great customer service and product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 16, 2021

**What do you like best about ProsperOps?**

The arbitrage works well. The service is really excellent.

**What do you dislike about ProsperOps?**

I have nothing to dislike about the product

**What problems is ProsperOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Since starting the ProsperOps service, our Effective Savings Rate has increased by 15.4% (net of their charge).
ProsperOps manages to cover 95.4% of our compute on-demand spend and the savings are 100.0% utilized.
The service is paid for with savings from our AWS bill. We have saved over $201,094, so far.
