I am a small contractor; I do all of the estimating and managing of my projects. My estimating time must be efficient and productive. There are many things that I like Best about ProEst. The thing that I'd have to say that I like best is that my estimates are consistent, accurate, and professional. When I submit an estimate to a prospective client, I know that they will recognize it as professional. They'll see my company as a viable business capable of building their project. I love the ability to build assemblies; they are huge time savers. The on-screen take-off module has been very efficient for me. The people at ProEst have been beneficial; they are constantly working on improving their product. It is not a one-and-done program; I've seen it evolve over the last twelve years into a very efficient program. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about ProEst? The challenges with ProEst are two. You have to make the database your own. I've put many hours into editing the database to meet my needs. Recommendations to others considering ProEst: I looked at quite a few estimating programs when I decided to move away from estimating in Excel. ProEst was the only program that had a take-off module and a robust estimating platform. ProEst also integrates with QuickBooks and other programs. Moving my estimating from Excel to ProEst has been the best thing for me. ProEst has sped up my estimating time, limited errors and omissions, and helped me win more projects. "ProEst...good with potential to be great..." 3.5/5 What do you like best about ProEst? There's a lot of features and functionality, however, you need to self train yourself on all the ins and outs which would take years to accomplish to get the program to work to it's full capacity. I generally like to post similar items nearby, but after the missing items are newly created, they can be placed at the bottom of the form, and cannot be placed near similar items. ProEst has a lot of great functions. We are finding new ways to use the software every day. Once the databases are built, it is smooth sailing. We find our estimates to be much more accurate. I like ProEst because it provides a complete estimate with a proper count once you complete your take-off. I enjoy the ease of uploading plans and intuitive way to navigate the controls.
