"ProII Simulator Essential tool for decision making in operations and design."
What do you like best about PRO/II Process Engineering (powered by SimSci)?

Pro II is a process simulator that allows me to have an operational analysis of plants, therefore it helps me to carry out various engineering studies, which allows us to put it into practice, this simulator is of great importance in the industry, because the processes cannot be altered in reality, to avoid unfortunate accidents since hydrocarbons are handled, a highly volatile product. It is necessary to simulate the processes in their various areas, exploration, extraction, treatment, fractionation, transportation, etc. Due to the high risk of accidents, ProII is perfect for simulating processes in steady state. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PRO/II Process Engineering (powered by SimSci)?

It is a very complete simulator, however, the only disadvantage is that the simulator gives you an approximation to the solution of the problem that is being solved, since the reality is different, sometimes the result is quite close, but we must understand that everything will depend on the environment, the useful way of equipment and some internal parameters of each one that we cannot observe that they are occurring in reality. "Simulation and creation of reliable industrial designs."
What do you like best about PRO/II Process Engineering (powered by SimSci)?

PRO II It is a complete software with which I can solve any problem that arises, its interface is very wide and versatile, with which I can create new designs, for my Pro II it is the first option when creating new designs, in fact With this software he designed a Natural Gas Fractionation plant, from scratch, taking into account the errors currently existing in the plant, I would find myself simulating the design with new equipment and parts from flanges to compressors, pumps, among others. What do you dislike about PRO/II Process Engineering (powered by SimSci)?

Pro II is a very complete and easy to use software, to date it is the first software I choose when designing, it is ideal for industrial processes. It can be difficult for those who do not have a chemical background. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"One of the best tools to simulate industrial plants"
What do you like best about PRO/II Process Engineering (powered by SimSci)?

Its environment is quite easy to configure and use. The way in which the initial data is entered is quite intuitive and there are many systems of units available. The convergence calculations of the flow currents do so at a fairly good rate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PRO/II Process Engineering (powered by SimSci)?

The acquisition price is high but it is justified since the simulation of processes, whether steady state or non-steady state, are being very useful to know in advance the correlation structure between several unit operations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"One of the most comprehensive process simulation solutions available on the market"
What do you like best about PRO/II Process Engineering (powered by SimSci)?

It has an interface that takes a few hours to learn to fully handle, where it also has an integrated environment for process flow diagrams of unit operations and a package of reaction kinetics and thermodynamic package that makes it very powerful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PRO/II Process Engineering (powered by SimSci)?

I think it has no unpleasant points but it only mentions that hopefully more components and equipment could be added over time Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"PRO II Excellent for extrapolating ideas"
What do you like best about PRO/II Process Engineering (powered by SimSci)?

PRO II for us is the easiest simulator to use with a very friendly interface, it also has different interactions such as Excell for process optimization, for us it is an indispensable tool that helps us extrapolate reality, we see with previous studies what we want Obtain, The best thing about PROII is that it can simulate any process, from Gas or Oil Fractionation, compression plant, gas treatment with Amines, gas distribution, reactors, etc. All in one simulator. With this we have the advantage of playing with the product specifications, testing possible mathematical models to solve an existing problem without risks, there would be many risks that would be taken when wanting to manipulate a variable in a process in reality and with PRO II we have optimized all industrial processes and tests. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PRO/II Process Engineering (powered by SimSci)?

PRO II is a steady state simulator, I would like you to add a dynamic environment where you can observe the movement of fluids throughout the process. It really is very good but with this tool I think it is even more powerful than many others. Nothing disgusts me is an indispensable tool in our processes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Excellent software for process simulation"
What do you like best about PRO/II Process Engineering (powered by SimSci)?

ProII is an amazing software for process simulation, it is designed in a very intuitive way by using a color scale that lets you know when you are missing information (red), when you can use default data or actions which can also be changed (green), and it lets you know when your information was used supplied and satisfies the requirements (blue). The GUI is neatly organized in a way that in the express window you know to first define the units of measure, then component selection, followed by the thermodynamic model that governs the simulation to then run your process. It never feels complicated. Even the specific windows of each of the processes are really intuitive, sure you still need advanced chemistry knowledge to run it, but it is still pretty easy to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PRO/II Process Engineering (powered by SimSci)?

There is nothing I can say that I truly dislike about this software; overall it has been an amazing experience. I can however mention some things to keep in mind about this program:

It is not the cheapest software you will buy; keep in mind that simsci sells top notch programs and this usually translates in them being expensive.

It is not for everyone; even though I mentioned that it is simple, behind the simplicity of the software lays a lot of chemistry knowledge that you need to have to make the most out of this incredibly powerful software.

You need good hardware for it to run smoothly, otherwise you won’t have the best time while using it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A software that any Chemical Engineer must have"
What do you like best about PRO/II Process Engineering (powered by SimSci)?

This is a software extremely use by Engineers studying and at work as well because it allows you to simulate by a steady-state process simulator the most common and important processes in industry for chemical or polymer industries. Pro II is a complete and integrated tool with several packages with thermodynamic property prediction methods as well as a component library and the models to recreate processes with the equipment needed in unit operations; like compressors or reactors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PRO/II Process Engineering (powered by SimSci)?

Is a steady-state process simulator, if you need to work with a process in non-steady-state conditions there are other software to do that but this one is great for the first mentioned ones! I have years using it and every engineer I know have a least use it in several opportunities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simulation software to have in mind for engineers"
What do you like best about PRO/II Process Engineering (powered by SimSci)?

It's a simulation software really use in engineering processes and in the University where I work and stdudied, one of the two most commonly used as well. As a student i used it and I still do as a Professor in the Unit Operations Department because is not so difficult to use and also is highly useful to work for process design and operational analysis, fundamental things to chemical engineers Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PRO/II Process Engineering (powered by SimSci)?

It only applies to steady-state processes simulations which is a little bit restricting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
