What I like best about Pixelmator Pro is how fast, clean, and beautifully designed it is — especially for Mac users. The interface is intuitive and minimal, but still gives access to powerful editing tools. It opens almost instantly, handles large files smoothly, and offers excellent support for photo editing, design, and retouching. While it’s excellent for most design and editing tasks, Pixelmator Pro still lacks some advanced features you’d find in Photoshop, especially for high-end compositing or animation workflows. Thanks to its compatibility with different file types I can receive resources from different formats and save conversion time. Also the layered editing is intuitive allowing me to make exact adjustments without changing the whole design; added to this Pixelmator is able to accurately identify specific tonalities and I can create my own organization by predefined personal working environments (illustration or design). It can be buggy, I had particular difficulties with the text tool after importing some TTF font files. The characters would not be visible and wouldn't take line breaks.

For quasi-designers, I would never say I am an expert graphic designer and never execute final files for clients. However, I do last-second image edits for ads, email campaigns and other marketing tactics. Pixelmator and Pixelmator Pro's biggest downfall is scalability via shareablility. Figma is live-screen editing collaboration. Photoshop and Illustrator have been the leader in this sector for 20 years. I do not know any professional friend that uses Pixelmator on the reg like I do.
