As a professional marketer and amateur digital creator, Pixelmator gives me the features, usability and training information to make compelling images to add to our website. features I use regularly: image editing: cropping, selecting regions, correcting, recoloring, deleting backgrounds, adding text to images, layering images.

Pricing, usability and value created ... Pixelmator is perfect for my use case. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Its origins are in creating digital images, which is why I chose it. Now I’m creating print images as well, and in that area its functionality feels less flexible than other tools that are optimized for print production. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What I like best about Pixelmator Pro is how fast, clean, and beautifully designed it is — especially for Mac users. The interface is intuitive and minimal, but still gives access to powerful editing tools. It opens almost instantly, handles large files smoothly, and offers excellent support for photo editing, design, and retouching. I also love the seamless integration with macOS features like iCloud, Sidecar, and Apple Silicon optimization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

While it’s excellent for most design and editing tasks, Pixelmator Pro still lacks some advanced features you’d find in Photoshop, especially for high-end compositing or animation workflows. It’s also more limited when it comes to plug-ins or industry-standard compatibility. But for 90% of everyday needs, it’s more than enough — and faster. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It's really easy to use and understand compared to other programs I have used. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I wish it had some more features like Photoshop has. Like the ability to generate images from a prompt. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Thanks to its compatibility with different file types I can receive resources from different formats and save conversion time. Also the layered editing is intuitive allowing me to make exact adjustments without changing the whole design; added to this Pixelmator is able to accurately identify specific tonalities and I can create my own organization by predefined personal working environments (illustration or design). I'd like to see an evolution that allows integrations with shared work platforms like Trello through visual plugins without leaving the design ecosystem; anyway this isn't a limitation due to functional shortcomings. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The price! And after that, its simplicity. Photoshop has so many gears, and isn't intuitive in getting to those gears. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Hard to say, but probably more advanced tools that are sort A.I.-like. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

it is easy to use, work for all apple devices, all document connect to icloud Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

had to pay 2 time for the app once on mac and once on ipad Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Pixelmator can do most all the basic functions of Adobe Photoshop but without the price tag or the "cloud" component and leasing fees. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It can be buggy, I had particular difficulties with the text tool after importing some TTF font files. The characters would not be visible and wouldn't take line breaks.

While the colorizing tools are generally very good, the tint/saturation tool always behaved strangely, desaturating some color values more than others. It made for an interesting effect but not always the desired one. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

For quasi-designers, I would never say I am an expert graphic designer and never execute final files for clients. However, I do last-second image edits for ads, email campaigns and other marketing tactics. All Adobe apps on OS desktop are too convoluted and not intuitive for rookies to intermediate design skilled users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Pixelmator and Pixelmator Pro's biggest downfall is scalability via shareability. Figma is live-screen editing collaboration. Photoshop and Illustrator have been the leader in this sector for 20 years. I do not know any professional friend that uses Pixelmator on the reg like I do. Would love to cloud share or email .pxm files. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Pixelmator is 100% native Mac application, which follows all of the requirements to be the solid Mac app. It's functionality is on par or better than any other image editing software for mac. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Nothing really. It is great, and only gets better and better. Plus, it is not a subscription, so with just a one time payment, I am getting all features for life. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Pixelmator is a powerful program that is still easy to use. Obviously you can't expect the full functionality of Photoshop for the Pixelmator price tag, but it is also a lot easier to get into, especially for the user with less experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There is no great automation for deleting backgrounds from photos. There are tools you can use, but you have to decide between not perfect or not fast. Also the repair tool is very limited to easy things to repair in a picture. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
