Photoroom Pricing Overview

I have almost 4 years of experience as a visual and graphic designer. I have been using Photoroom for the past two years mainly for background removal, and it gives extraordinary results for me. It saves a lot of time compared to manual image cutouts.

I’ve used Photoroom for some quick editing work, mainly for product images and social media creatives. While it’s helpful in many situations, I personally didn’t find it as strong as remove.bg when it comes to background removal accuracy. In some cases, especially with detailed edges like hair or complex shapes, the cutout didn’t feel as clean and required extra manual correction. Another thing I noticed is that sometimes the app feels a bit template focused. While templates are useful for quick designs, they can also make outputs look slightly similar if not customized properly. As a graphic designer, I prefer having more control over fine details, and at times I felt limited compared to using a dedicated background tool plus manual editing. I also experienced that for highar quality exports or advanced features, the premium version becomes necessary. That’s understandable, but if you’re working regularly with many images, the cost can add up. Compared to remove.bg, which feels very direct and purpose focused, Photoroom tries to do many things at once, and in that process, some areas don’t feel as refined. It’s not a bad tool at all, and for beginners or quick marketplace images, it works well. But for my professional workflow, especially when precision matters, I didn’t feel it replaced my usual process. It’s useful, but not something I rely on heavily for detailed design work.
