"They won't let me upgrade to a more expensive tier"
1/5
What do you like best about Photoroom?

Their product performs well and I like the API Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Photoroom?

I have been a Max user, who paid annually up front, for many years. My business has grown out of this tool and I have been trying to switch to their API membership instead, which is MORE MONEY per month than what I currently have. Photoroom is refusing to let me upgrade to a more expensive membership. They want me to wait a full year to change my policy, or to double pay for two products when I only need one. I have been going back and forth with them for weeks, and they are making it clear they could care less if I stay or go. I guess this is how they treat their long time loyal customers. Totally backwards. I have cancelled my membership renewal and have decided to switch to Pixelcut. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fast, Easy Background Removal and Pro-Looking Product Photos"
5/5
What do you like best about Photoroom?

Automatic background removal that works quickly and usually requires little manual editing.

AI-generated backgrounds and shadows, which help create professional-looking product photos.

Batch editing, making it convenient for sellers who need to process many images at once.

Templates for marketplaces and social media, which simplify creating content for platforms such as Instagram, Amazon, or Shopify.

Mobile and web availability, allowing edits from a phone or computer.

Ease of use, since many tasks can be completed with minimal photo-editing experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Photoroom?

Many advanced features are locked behind the Pro subscription, which can feel limiting for free users.

AI-generated backgrounds are not always accurate, occasionally producing unrealistic details or requiring manual corrections.

Background removal can struggle with complex subjects, such as hair, transparent objects, or cluttered scenes.

Limited fine-grained editing tools compared with more advanced software like Photoshop. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Extraordinary Background Removal That Saves Me Hours"
5/5
What do you like best about Photoroom?

I have almost 4 years of experience as a visual and graphic designer. I have been using Photoroom for the past two years mainly for background removal, and it gives extraordinary results for me. It saves a lot of time compared to manual image cutouts.

In my previous company, we had a subscription for catalog templates, which I also used for bulk background removal. The shadow creation is excellent and helps achieve very accurate and professional-looking results. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Photoroom?

For my purposes, I haven’t faced any major issues with Photoroom. The only minor issue I experience occasionally is when copying and pasting an image—it doesn’t appear properly, and I have to add the image again. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Photoroom?

I really value how easily I can generate AI backgrounds and batch-edit multiple images in no time. The ready-made templates for banners and collages save me effort, and the smart expansion feature helps me adapt visuals to different formats while keeping their original look intact. What do you dislike about Photoroom?

When photos have loose hair or delicate details like sheer fabrics, the auto-crop struggles with backgrounds, leaving uneven edges that need manual fixes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Photoroom is known for its AI-powered background removal feature, allowing me to easily and accurately remove backgrounds from photos. This provides me with a quick and efficient way to edit photos, particularly when it comes to background removal—the accuracy of background removal, makes the process smoother and more precise. What do you dislike about Photoroom?

It can be quite frustrating when Photoroom, inadvertently removes the main part of the subject, particularly when it's an essential element of the image. The removal of crucial details can significantly impact the overall quality and intended message of the photo, diminishing the user experience and creating a sense of dissatisfaction. "An alternative photo editor/image creator with cool features but not too user friendly"
4/5
What do you like best about Photoroom?

What I like best about PhotoRoom is its simplicity and effectiveness. It isn't hard to make a couple of clicks on my selected photo and easily remove the background, add new background. It works seamlessly. After spending years struggling to manually remove backgrounds using Photoshop or other photo editing apps on my phone or laptop, it's incredible how accurate, precise, and natural this auto removal is. Of course, PhotoRoom doesn't only remove backgrounds. It has multiple other image creation and editing options to make creative and inspiring works of art out of your personal photographs. With its different section heads where you can select what you wish to do or create, it's pretty intuitive so you don't need to be an expert or even familiar with the software: PhotoRoom is easily accessible to anyone, regardless of their photo editing skills. Other cool features: -AI-powered editing: pretty cool to type in exactly what you want done or what you want your image to show or what you wish to create and AI follows your commands! -customizable templates, including t-shirts and other templates not usually included in a photo editor! -versatility: good for a wide range of apps of product images from e-commerce to social media posts to marketing. -easy to use and convenient on mobile app so you can save time and create wherever your phone is! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Photoroom?

Downsides of PhotoRoom include: -Limited advanced editing: mostly designed for basic photo editing and background removal. Might not offer the extensive photo editing capabilities of more advanced software like Photoshop, for users requiring detailed retouching or advanced design work. -Subscription costs: while the app offers a free version with basic features, many advanced functionalities require paying for a subscription. Subscription costs can be weekly, or annually and are definitely an important consideration especially if the user only has need for occasional and basic use of an editing app and only occasional access to premium features. Of course, you can get a free trial of the premium version for a week or several days. -Learning curve: PhotoRoom is pretty simple and user-friendly, but it still has a learning curve for users new to photo editing. It can take some time and effort to become familiar and comfortably proficient in using the app effectively. -Internet connection: access to certain features requires internet and users with limited connectivity will face limitations. -Template limitation: users looking for highly specialized or unique designs will find PhotoRoom's templates somewhat restrictive. -Mobile only -Watermark on free version Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Game-Changer in Photo Editing!"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Photoroom?

PhotoRoom impresses with its intuitive interface and powerful editing tools that cater to both novices and professionals alike. The application’s standout feature is its unparalleled background removal capabilities, which work seamlessly to provide crisp, high-definition images. The diverse range of templates and design features offered by the app further enhances the overall user experience, allowing for quick photo transformations that cater to a plethora of needs. Whether you're looking to create product listings, social media content, or simply edit personal photos, PhotoRoom ensures a smooth and enjoyable editing process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Photoroom?

While PhotoRoom offers an impressive array of tools, its subscription-based model might deter occasional users who don't require frequent edits. Some advanced features also come with a learning curve, and the app could benefit from more detailed tutorials or in-app guidance for beginners. Lastly, while the automatic background removal is impressive, there are rare instances where the tool might not perfectly differentiate between the subject and the background, requiring some manual adjustments. "Quick Edit via Mobile Devices"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Photoroom?

My first impression was the speed in which the app recognizes the subject of a photo and isolates it for use. It does a pretty decent job at cropping out a product and allowing user to add background and/or text while providing various media-specific templates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Photoroom?

The cost seems high at $89 per year. Furthermore, the app should provide an option besides simply removing background immediately when a photo is uploaded. Maybe prompting user with "What do you want to do?" and providing options. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
