The user interface is consistent and easy to navigate across PowerSchool applications, and with Single Sign-On, moving between applications through the app switcher is seamless for our faculty and staff. We have implemented Schoology Learning, and the onboarding support for this PowerSchool product, along with its integration with Professional Learning, has been helpful. The free version of the PowerBuddy AI feature meets most of our needs. Overall, performance across the PowerSchool products has been reliable. Our district uses PowerSchool SIS, ERP, Professional Learning, Schoology, Analytics and Insights, Curriculum and Instructions Records, Special Program, etc., and we have found that these tools work well together. **What do you dislike about PowerSchool?** PowerSchool can be more expensive than some other products, and there are times when support takes a while to respond and fully address certain issues. **What problems is PowerSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?** PowerSchool is helping us bring all of our data into one system so we can better support our students and more easily onboard new faculty, students, and staff. There is a clean, logical flow from the interview process in Applicant Tracker, through hiring in PowerSchool ERP, and into the PowerSchool SIS student information system, which then connects into our Learning Management System, Schoology Learning. The seamless connectivity with Special Programs keeps special education information at our teachers’ fingertips throughout PowerSchool. Open enrollment is also seamless using Records, which houses other district forms such as direct deposit, absence notes, and more. All employees can easily access and review their payroll, tax, and leave information in Employee Access Center. Bringing the major systems needed to run a school district into the PowerSchool family of products saves processing time and reduces training needs, while keeping what our stakeholders need right at their fingertips. ### 2. I can access student information for multiple schools from one site. **What do you dislike about PowerSchool?** Running searches or reports is not always intuitive, it takes some trial and error to figure out. **What problems is PowerSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are able to use it as a student information system and to track attendance. ### 3. The system is robust and will do what you want it to, but you need the know how to do so. **What problems is PowerSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?** PS SIS is a much better product than eSchool plus was. Being able to use SQL instead of being tied down to cognos and a poor excuse for upload and downloads in eSchool makes all the difference. ### 5. I love the reports that I can generate quickly so that I can get needed data. I also love the ease of using PowerScheduler when building the schedule for my school. **What do you dislike about PowerSchool?** I wish there were an easier way to flip back and forth between the Teacher and Admin sides of PowerSchool. I teach a virtual course and have to take attendance and enter grades, but I also use the Admin side constantly. I have to log entirely out to get to the other side, and although it isn't hard, it's just a time-waster. **What problems is PowerSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?** We can make sure that our seniors graduate with all required courses and credits. We use the Graduation Progress as a way to track students and can quickly print a copy of the worksheet for them to keep. I love that I can sit down with a student and, within seconds, have a plan in place so that they can graduate on time. ### 7. It seems that every teacher in my school is complaining about how hard it is to use and manage. We always need to use tutorials in order to do something on power school. There is a big learning curve. **What problems is PowerSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?** It allows you to put in a lot of details about your grades and classroom. It is cool to see so much detail. ### 8. As an educator, I have a massive amount of paperwork that needs to be completed on a daily basis. It is often difficult to remember everything on my to-do list. When I receive an email notification reminding me to complete a task on talentEd, it enables me to prioritize that task and ensure that the documentation is submitted. **What do you dislike about PowerSchool?** I would like the layout to be more modern. It seems a bit old and bland. Rather than having it broken up by tasks completed and tasks still to be completed, it would also be helpful to see which category certain tasks fall under. At times, there are a number of documents. Categorizing them would make it easier to find what has and has not been done. **Recommendations to others considering PowerSchool:** It is a much better system than asking employees to submit paper documents. **What problems is PowerSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?** Talent Ed allows for a quick completion of all HR documents, including contracts, health insurance information, Covid check ins, and more. It is especially helpful with reminding employees to complete documentation before specific and dates, such as open enrollment periods. ### 9. Employees also now have easy access to previous year’s documents ### 10. I can not remember what we had before but I do remember that it was not as easy as TalentEd is. I much prefer using this system. **What do you dislike about PowerSchool?** There really isn't anything that I have found that I do not like. I am still early in the learning process though so that may change as I discover more. So far, so good! **Recommendations to others considering PowerSchool:** So far I have enjoyed using TalentEd to register for my professional developments. They send an email when you have registered or added on to a wait list. It makes it easy to find when I have to search my mailbox for the confirmation, date, time or location when I forget. Which happens all too often. **What problems is PowerSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?** Before TalentEd I struggled with registering for a PD but now that we made the switch, it is a lot easier. I also love that it sends an email when you register or are added on to the wait list for a PD. When I have to go back and search for a PD that I registered for through my email, I can easily find it and be reminded of the date, time or location. That is SUPER beneficial. ### 11. The ability for administrators and teachers to collaboratively share and record feedback is helpful. I don't really like the product. **What do you dislike about PowerSchool?** The interface is terrible. The windows you are expected to type into are tiny and reminiscent of a 1992 Word Processor. It's difficult to review your work in the way it will look until you actually submit to your boss. **Recommendations to others considering PowerSchool:** I would definitely consider products that had more editable features and larger text boxes for data input! **What problems is PowerSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?** The collaborative piece is helpful between administrators and teachers. There has to be a better way though. The interface is terrible. The ability to track progress through the evaluation scenario seems most helpful for administrators. As a teacher I feel the product is not especially helpful until the end. There has to be a better way! ### 12. It is also very easy to use. **What do you dislike about PowerSchool?** There is nothing I dislike about TalentEd **Recommendations to others considering PowerSchool:** TalentEd is a great software! **What problems is PowerSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are able to scan documents directly into TalentEd, which helps us not have so much data entry. ### 13. I like that a chat feature is available when we are having trouble. **What do you dislike about PowerSchool?** I wish we could get notifications when there is a system wide issue instead of us needing to call our Technology department. I do dislike how frequent the system crashes. **What problems is PowerSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are able to view older documents and find ways to make application process easier for our applicants. ### 14. I like the reports function and the help desk is always very positive and quick to fix any issues. I did not get much training when I got into this job so I also like the fact that they offer various levels and types (in-person, online, etc.) of training. **What do you dislike about PowerSchool?** File management and Contracts. Can’t see the emails that the system sends to users which is a problem when a user says they did/did not get a communication. I do not like how we have to create contract templates, I don't really know how the fields are set-up and I keep making mistakes when I create a new template. I have used other CRM systems in the past which were easier to use to template. I also do no know the workflows very well and they don't seem intuitive. **What problems is PowerSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?** Online HRIS; we separated from our parent company three years ago and the company we used to implement back-end support has used this software in the past and with many other schools. They were able to jump right in and not have any hiccups with the help of TalentEd. ### 16. I have to do all my evaluations on this.
