"Strong Spend Controls, Intuitive Workflows, and Excellent Support"
5/5
What do you like best about Payhawk?

Payhawk gives us strong control over company spending while keeping the process straightforward for employees. The card management, spend policies, approval workflows and expense tracking features allow us to maintain financial controls without creating unnecessary administration.

As a finance team, we particularly value the ability to create tailored card policies, set merchant restrictions, automate approval workflows and gain real-time visibility over spend across the business. The platform is intuitive to use and provides a good balance between user experience and governance.

The support team has also been excellent. When we had a complex query regarding merchant restrictions and the interaction between recurring spend requests and card policy resets, the team investigated the issue thoroughly, escalated it internally, and provided a clear explanation that enabled us to configure the controls exactly as required. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Payhawk?

While Payhawk offers strong spend controls and approval workflows, some areas could be more flexible. Certain configuration options, such as merchant restrictions, can be difficult to manage when merchant names don't exactly match how transactions are presented by card providers. More granular controls and clearer visibility of how policies interact with spend requests would make administration easier.

The Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central integration is also an area where additional flexibility and documentation would be beneficial, particularly for organisations with more complex accounting and approval requirements.

That said, the platform is continually improving, and the support team has been responsive whenever we've encountered challenges. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Expense submission after category selection."
4.5/5
What do you like best about Payhawk?

I started working under expense category to submit my expense for Reimbursement. which liked me a lot in terms of uploading document and data field enter value automatically. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Payhawk?

I would say there’s nothing to dislike, just a quick suggestion.

Once the document is updated, the data is captured correctly in terms of value, currency, and data & time. However, when it comes to choosing the expense category and selecting the cost center, people pause for a second and have to think about it. Based on my own usage experience, I’d suggest a design change in the Add Expense window: let users choose what kind of expense is being uploaded and add the bill screenshot, and then have the system automatically fill in the category and cost center which makes quite faster and not worried about it after adding them and once file is uploaded they can just review it and save it.

Here, as an service Desk point of view, employee reach to us asking on what category and cost Center to be selected for Particular expense, because here we have only two team who approve major, once is the HR team and other is service Desk manager for the equipment purchased. "Effortless Expense Management with Payhawk"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Payhawk?

I love how Payhawk saves us time and reduces the need for chasing since employees can easily add expenses as they go. Most expenses are now added on time, reducing the accounts team's workload significantly. The easy-to-use interface and the feature that allows us to return incorrect expenses to employees with comments are very useful. Previously, we had to use separate communication for providing reasons for rejected expenses, but Payhawk allows us to handle this in one go. The integration with Quickbooks is seamless and makes the process so easy. Payhawk was also very easy to set up from the start. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Payhawk?

The only issue I can find is that sometimes when importing into QuickBooks it will bring a receipt number in as a journal number which throws our journal numbers out of sequence. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great Support, But Shipping and Categories Need Work"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Payhawk?

What I like most about Payhawk is that they're present when we need help, and that's great. I had an issue where my employees were not able to login even after the verification was done, and I requested support to help me with that. They were able to resolve it as soon as possible. I also had an issue with importing the report on physical and virtual card status, but now I can download it from my end. I had an issue with a fund transfer too, and I received the fund. Overall Payhawk is good. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Payhawk?

{"I had issue with importing the report on Physical and Virtual card status. But now I can download it from my end.","Another I had issue with the fund transfer and I received the fund.","My employees were not able to login even after the verification was done.","Regarding the Payhawk Physical card shipment, I want it to be shipped as early as possible. Physical card shipment nearly takes 10-12 days to get shipped.","We still can't able to enter the category in the Payhawk app even after the issue has been raised, and the backend team is working on it but there is still no update.","It really affects all our employees to categorise the expenses and it is very hard for the validation to validate the expenses under category."} Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fast, Intuitive, and Fully Automated: The Ultimate Tool for Scalable Finance"
4/5
What do you like best about Payhawk?

Having used Payhawk, it is clear that this platform is designed for companies that want to stay ahead of the curve. It strikes a rare balance between deep functionality and a user-friendly interface. We use the software intensively on a daily basis, and it has become an indispensable part of our workflow.

Smooth Implementation & Support

One of the biggest hurdles with new financial software is the setup, but Payhawk makes this surprisingly simple.

Easy Onboarding: The implementation phase was remarkably easy.

Expert Guidance: We were backed by excellent support throughout the process, ensuring that the system was tailored to our needs from day one.

User Experience & Performance

The software feels truly future-proof. The interface is modern, intuitive, and—most importantly—fast.

Seamless Navigation: You can switch between different views and entities almost instantly. Whether moving from card management to invoice processing, the transitions are smooth, keeping your momentum high.

Low Barrier to Entry: Because the tool is so easy to use, employee adoption has been high across the company.

Automation & Control

For a finance team, the "magic" is in the automation.

Top-Tier Accounting Integration: The integration with our accounting software is outstanding. It eliminates manual labor entirely, allowing for a "hands-off" synchronization that saves us hours of data entry.

Robust Approval Flows: The customizable workflows ensure every cent spent is authorized without creating bottlenecks.

Budget Monitoring: Real-time monitoring allows us to stay on top of departmental spending effortlessly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Payhawk?

Even the best software requires a helping hand occasionally, and this is where Payhawk truly shines.

Outstanding Support: The speed of their support team is exceptional. Responses are quick and professional, which is vital for financial operations.

Proactive Development: While there is room for improvement in areas like more granular customized exports and supplier change warnings (to further enhance security and data handling), the Payhawk team is remarkably agile. They are constantly shipping updates, and given their track record, these features will likely be optimized in the near future. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Raquel Orejas of Payhawk

Wow, Keoma, thank you for such a thoughtful and detailed review, this really made our day! 😊

It's wonderful to hear that Payhawk has become such a core part of your daily workflow, and that the onboarding, automation, and accounting integration have all been hitting the mark. "Reactive to proactive" is exactly the transformation we aim for, and it's great to see it playing out in practice.

Your feedback on granular exports and supplier change warnings is well noted, we're always working to push the platform further, and input like yours helps us prioritise what matters most.

Thanks again for taking the time to share this. It means a lot to the whole team!

"AI-Powered Expense Tracking with Seamless Xero Integration"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Payhawk?

I use Payhawk for tracking employee expenses and reimbursement. I appreciate that it helps in processing employee expenses easily by allowing employees to attach receipts directly into the system. I love the AI auto-detection feature that not only suggests the correct account code but also reduces manual entry, making the coding process much faster and maintaining accuracy. The smooth integration of Payhawk with our accounting software, Xero, is invaluable as it allows all reviewed and approved expenses to sync to Xero without any extra work. The direct sync to Xero from Payhawk is a significant improvement compared to our previous system, Kloo, where we had to manually export and import statements. The initial setup of Payhawk was quite easy and the user-friendly interface made it even easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Payhawk?

In our company, we recharge employee expenses to different portfolio companies, and we need to recharge them. However, in the case of multi-currency transactions, the FX fees, when exported to Xero, go to a different account code. But for our requirements, we want it to go to the same code as the expense since we need to recharge the whole cost along with FX fees. So when an expense is exported to Xero, we need to manually change the FX fees code to the cost code to recharge the accurate amount. I also reached out to the Payhawk team for this, but they don't have such a feature. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Robust API, Smooth Onboarding, and Excellent Technical Support"
5/5
What do you like best about Payhawk?

From an IT and implementation perspective, Payhawk has been a genuinely positive experience. The onboarding process is well-structured and the Payhawk team provided excellent technical support throughout — they were responsive, knowledgeable, and proactive in helping us get set up correctly. The API capabilities are robust and have allowed us to automate several workflows that previously required manual effort, which has been a significant win for our team. Overall, the platform integrates well into our existing tech stack and the implementation timeline was reasonable compared to similar tools we've deployed in the past. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Payhawk?

The initial configuration can be somewhat complex, particularly when setting up approval workflows, custom fields, and integrations simultaneously. It requires careful planning and close collaboration with the Payhawk support team to get everything right from the start. Additionally, the mobile app, while functional, still has room for improvement in terms of user experience — some of our end users have flagged occasional friction when submitting expenses on the go. These are not dealbreakers, but areas where we hope to see continued development. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Raquel Orejas of Payhawk

"Streamlined and Easy way to Manage Work Expenses"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Payhawk?

Recently, I’ve noticed how much smarter the platform has become with the introduction of AI features. The AI Agents, especially things like the Financial Controller and Payments workflows, make everything feel much more seamless in the background.

As an end user, the biggest benefit for me is how easy it is to just drop receipts in or quickly approve expenses without thinking about the process. It feels like a lot of the admin is handled for you now.

I’ve also seen improvements around procurement, which makes requesting and approving spend much clearer and more structured than before. Overall, it feels like everything is connected in one place rather than jumping between systems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Payhawk?

Notifications can still feel a bit overwhelming at times. While I understand why they’re useful, it would be great to have more control over what I receive or a way to summarise them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Expense Management with Flexible Control"
4/5
What do you like best about Payhawk?

I find Payhawk easy to use for both end users and admins. I appreciate the simplicity in controlling, checking, and making changes. It only takes a few clicks to block cards, order new ones, create new users, and establish workflows or approval processes. The ability to create expense categories and set or change limits is also very useful, allowing for personalization based on our needs. The initial setup was quite easy and straightforward too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Payhawk?

The different currency management is not ideal as the exchange rate used is not the best one and if we want to have a multi-currency card we need to add several cards. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Ease of Use and Efficient Expense Control"
5/5
What do you like best about Payhawk?

I like the ease of use and adaptability of Payhawk. Each department can upload their expenses and Amazon invoices are automatically fetched via API code. I find it very useful that only two people handle the payments, and that limits can be set on transfers and cards. Additionally, I value that Payhawk makes updates every four months, which always leaves room for improvement. I greatly appreciated the help we received during the transition to Payhawk. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Payhawk?

There were no specific mentions of negative aspects, but I mentioned that there is always room for improvement and suggested connecting Claude's AI or ChatGPT to automatically record some payments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
