## Patreon Reviews
  ### 1. Great Platform to Listen to and Interact with Your Favorite Podcasts

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maria G. | Assistant Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Patreon?**

Is a great platform to listen to your favorite podcast people and to interact with them and to know what’s going on in your favorite podcast. Also the subscription is not expensive at all.

**What do you dislike about Patreon?**

That I have to pay a subscription for each channel of podcast that I want to listen instead of a full subscription for all the ones that I want to hear

**What problems is Patreon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is great to listen to podcast and the amount of episodes that I can listen even more that on Spotify is great

  ### 2. While Patreon has degraded a bit in recent years, it's still the easiest subscription service.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jen F. | Comics Writer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 29, 2023

**What do you like best about Patreon?**

-Flexible posting options (from podcasting to text to images, etc)
-Low monthly fees/losses (I joined early at an early tier, though, before they started their current sillier payment solution)
-Well-known (so users aren't scared of signing up)
-Marketplace lets me also look for other creators who are doing interesting things
-Secure and private messaging options to keep in touch with patrons
-Integrates with a number of other software options--for example, whenever I get a new patron Patreon notifies my Bonjoro, which then lets me send them a video message as a thank-you

**What do you dislike about Patreon?**

-Apparently if you join now, you're given payment options that make you lose more money than if you joined when I did. If I were new, that would make me consider another service, perhaps like Payhip, which I can run myself.
-They got rid of the Goals tier, which I thought was helpful for motivating patrons (but that's okay)

**What problems is Patreon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Like everyone else who uses Patreon, I need a monthly solution that allows me to collect fees from users while providing them monthly support.

  ### 3. A wonderful tool to follow people you admire!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Meryl D. | Content Marketing Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 29, 2021

**What do you like best about Patreon?**

Choosing between different plans and tiers.

**What do you dislike about Patreon?**

Nothing at the moment. Both the web interface and app are easy to use.

**What problems is Patreon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I think Patreon is a good place for writers and podcasters to offer additional services and content. I follow three different accounts and I'm very glad to have access to more content from these creators!

  ### 4. Pateron Is An Awesome Platform for Content Creators

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lindsay H. | Home Educator ( Homeschooling Mom), Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Patreon?**

Patreon treats its content creators very well I feel and the creators get to ask for donations to help them with creating more content and maintaining their channels on Pateron. I feel like Pateron puts content creators in the drivers seat when it comes to controlling what they choose to produce compared to other platforms which are not as friendly to content creators of which I won't mention.

**What do you dislike about Patreon?**

Nothing that I can think of at the moment. The customer gets to decide how much they are willing to donate to a particular content creator which is great and I'm glad that Pateron allows flexibility in this area.

**What problems is Patreon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am just a consumer of Pateron and not a content creator.

  ### 5. Fantastic Way To Connect With Your Customers!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brittany W. | Co-Founder, CEO, and Instructor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 16, 2021

**What do you like best about Patreon?**

Patreon is an awesome way to connect with your customers and make them feel like they're part of a special community. We've done so many great things through Patreon - book clubs, special Zoom events, discount codes. With Patreon, it's easy to really foster a great connection!!

**What do you dislike about Patreon?**

I don't love the comment system on Patreon - I feel like I miss things sometimes. I'm not sure how to make that better though - it's really like posting on a blog post now, as opposed to something more social-media-like?

**Recommendations to others considering Patreon:**

Patreon can be a great way to grow your brand, connect with your customers in a fun way, and get a monthly income for your company (especially when your company typically generates income more sporatically!)

**What problems is Patreon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As said above, Patreon offers a way to connect with customers that's different from other platforms. People pay to access special content, and having that monthly income has helped us beyond our wildest dreams!

  ### 6. This product has taken me from being a struggling artist to having a monthly revenue I can depend on

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Melanie B. | Chief Rabble Rouser, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 07, 2021

**What do you like best about Patreon?**

I love the fact that I can create recurring revenue for myself on Patreon. As an artist, I used to live from feast to famine. Today I can rely on an amount coming in every month.

**What do you dislike about Patreon?**

Some of the features and plug-ins like Stripe do not work for me in South Africa.

**Recommendations to others considering Patreon:**

If you are looking for a platform for creating a subscription-based income and creating great content, then Patreon is for you.

**What problems is Patreon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Patreon is a valuable platform for creating online learning experiences. I can shape them in many different ways to suit the different learning styles of my students.

  ### 7. Great software for creators!!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Contact C. | Marketing, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Patreon?**

How easy they make it to get up and running. Selling your membership online used to require building funnels, websites, sales pages, etc. With Patreon, I've been able to sell my membership with such ease!

**What do you dislike about Patreon?**

The fees are a higher than you'd expect to pay if you were using a merchant processing company, so that is something to consider.

**What problems is Patreon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problem I'm solving is being able to accept payments without having to build a complicated website.

  ### 8. Great community and content management with a lot of core features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Patreon?**

Built in merch system is really useful for creators. It's great that you can customize your fan base's level of involvement with tiers and brand elements like color and logo and welcome notes. Very simple to use.

**What do you dislike about Patreon?**

There could be some additional features like event creation. It's great that there is Google Analytics tracking, but there could also be more connectivity to other tools.

**What problems is Patreon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The major problem we are solving is paid community management. It does just that and a little more!

  ### 9. Get Support From Your Fans the Easy Way

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex T. | Creator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Patreon?**

Very easy to use and get set up and started.

**What do you dislike about Patreon?**

Some fees get taken out each month which are pretty steep.

**Recommendations to others considering Patreon:**

Easy to use and get paid by your supporters.

**What problems is Patreon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I get support for the podcasts I make and get to release bonus episodes and other extras to my supporters.

  ### 10. Good concept, not so good execution

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Patreon?**

Being able to support creators financially

**What do you dislike about Patreon?**

Customer support and bad UI especially for security and privacy options

**Recommendations to others considering Patreon:**

If you are a creator, this is a great option! For a user, not so much. Too much hassle to go through the whole process.

**What problems is Patreon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having a reliable platform to support creators, instead of venmoing dubious IDs

  ### 11. Pretty good for creators!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jemaica M. | Freelance Illustrator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 29, 2019

**What do you like best about Patreon?**

The company idea as a whole isnt being done a lot elsewhere! its a great way for fans to be able to support the creators they love, and it is very customizable

**What do you dislike about Patreon?**

I really wish the website was searchable or would recommend new artists to support, so you can be found organically. They are also changing the website TOO MUCH, especially the landing pages of the creators. patreon- PLEASE STOP DOING THIS !! it now asks for money upfront instead of letting you read the creators story first, which makes it look greedy and awful.. They just keep making changes and having issues, when it really was good before and just needed to be improved upon (like the pledges not going through and other issues that really get in the way of the entire function of the website! )

**Recommendations to others considering Patreon:**

just do it! provide good incentives and promote it like hell. If you are an artist looking to use patreon to make more of an income from your artwork check out the show one fantastic week on youtube, or their website, they are super helpful!

**What problems is Patreon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

giving people who want to support artists a way to do so, and obviously making an income as an artist

  ### 12. Support creators or get support as a creator

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David d. | IT Security specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 14, 2019

**What do you like best about Patreon?**

As a creator you can build a connection with supporters. You can set up tiers for monthly support with incentives. It's a very social platform.

**What do you dislike about Patreon?**

At some points there is a lack of guidelines. Almost any project is OK and if the creator don't feel like giving the incentives (promised to supporters), then it's OK too.

**Recommendations to others considering Patreon:**

For artist or innovative projects: please sign up. Great things happend on that platform. Some artists even make their monthly paycheck there. If you are able to boost innovative projects, please sign up as well. You can make great things happen. Even 1 dollar per month can make a project better.

**What problems is Patreon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Patreon for contributing to Creators. More like a donation to innovative and creative ideas. We Don't use it as a business strategy.

  ### 13. I love it

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anita L. | Film Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2019

**What do you like best about Patreon?**

Our colleagues have energized together to bring a portion of their best imaginative plans to the table. Patreon's capacity to for all intents and purposes interface our specialists with other people who are aesthetically and cooperatively disapproved has just helped our development procedure. Furthermore, when we've had any issues, the site's care staff has dependably been inconceivably useful. Straight-forward, open, and a twisted towards tolerance, their client administration has been a noteworthy reward.

**What do you dislike about Patreon?**

We additionally use Patreon for benefactor financing and entries. Sadly, there have been a few issues with installment preparing, which has caused a couple of social speedbumps. At first, our group was additionally confounded about what substances could or couldn't enlist with the stage. The online assistance segment (beside client support) is as yet inadequate.

**Recommendations to others considering Patreon:**

Apparently still on the ground floor, it feels like Patreon has such potential for all encompassing development with respect to commitment, convenience, stage hybrid, and monetary benefits. Our group wholeheartedly suggests Patreon!

**What problems is Patreon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The stage is generally streamlined and bother free. Our group has utilized Patreon to gather benefactor reserves, sell our very own inventive substance, and interface with different clients for potential advertising and business-disapproved of activities.

  ### 14. The modern way to support content creators

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Evgeny B. | CEO, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2019

**What do you like best about Patreon?**

Simple interface, very easy to begin supporting, ability to send unique content to supporters(patrons) which can be even a podcast stream. The commission is very small and fair as well.

**What do you dislike about Patreon?**

It is not yet so popular, so not all people familiar with words like "support us on Patreon" which I think decreases the conversion and takes a couple tries to convert some people.

**Recommendations to others considering Patreon:**

From the user standpoint, it is currently the best way to support content creators.

**What problems is Patreon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ability to directly support people who create great content is a very good idea for current times, as ads and other ways sometimes do not provide enough support to continue work.

  ### 15. Versatile fund rasing site

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shane M. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2019

**What do you like best about Patreon?**

This is a great format to distribute/share your creations while building a dedicated following and earning some money with it. The better content you create and the better it is the more your followers will want to see and the more they will donate to make it possible.

**What do you dislike about Patreon?**

It is slow to start. It takes a lot of work on the creator side before you start seeing results and you do have to experiment and advertise to get your followers.

**Recommendations to others considering Patreon:**

I recommend you try it. It's a great way to get content out there that only select people can see.

**What problems is Patreon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows us to distribute content directed at loyal customers. We create content that allows them to learn more about our products and use them in ways they might not have thought about before.

  ### 16. An amazing way to create a loyal following

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ana F. | Social media adviser, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2019

**What do you like best about Patreon?**

This gives artists and content creators an opportunity to monetize their work and it gives people who like that content an opportunity to view it while helping the artist. The best part is that you can donate as little or as much as you want!

**What do you dislike about Patreon?**

It's hard to get people to discover your patreon and your content. The leg work has to be done by the content creator usually by advertising on other social media.

**Recommendations to others considering Patreon:**

Give it a try! You don't pay anything to try it and it can turn into a really good income source.

**What problems is Patreon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is an amazing tool to monetize your knowledge/ content so you can create and share with other while making a profit out of it. To me it's way better than youtube in that sense.

  ### 17. Accommodating route for substance makers to adapt

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cristina B. | Miss, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Patreon?**

Patreon has been at the cutting edge of this kind of adaptation for substance makers. They are an answer arranged and advancement centered group, constantly making changes and upgrades to the stage.

**What do you dislike about Patreon?**

I've been utilizing Patreon for a considerable length of time and thought that it was difficult to change over my fans to wind up supporters, and much harder to keep up the advantages I advertised.

**Recommendations to others considering Patreon:**

Apparently still on the ground floor, it feels like Patreon has such potential for comprehensive development with respect to commitment, ease of use, stage hybrid, and monetary profits.

We utilized various typical channels, i.e web-based social networking, and so forth however would have like if there were a few proposals on best practices or research done that was offered to clients of the product.

**What problems is Patreon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We found that contrasted with different destinations, ie GoFundMe, and so forth, Patreon had the achieve we were searching for, just as the providing details regarding how we were changing over with offers and rewards for giving to the film.

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Online Media | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Patreon?**

I like how easy Patreon is to use between a consumer and seller. I can buy access to media from content creators and sell my art to a large audience.

**What do you dislike about Patreon?**

For Patreon to be sustainable, I have to have a sizable audience first. Instead of people being able to find a type of product and buying what they like, it's more about liking a certain creator. So, to be useful, you must have a certain audience first.

**What problems is Patreon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Income has risen as i've been able to commodify my art and content into something with monetary value.
