**What do you like best about Papermark Virtual Data Room?**

Papermark has great folder management and access control for files. We just upload our confidential files and financial statements to link for report sharing. It is easy to use and has very simple user interface.

**What do you dislike about Papermark Virtual Data Room?**

Some documents particularly large PDFs takes a while to load then other documents but other than that papermark is a great cloud sharing tool.

**What problems is Papermark Virtual Data Room solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our main concern was the security and papermark offers great encryption protection and the ability to easily restrict access to visitors even after sharing. We now mostly rely on it for sharing portfolio company data.

**What do you like best about Papermark Virtual Data Room?**

Papermark has become my fav tool for sensitive document sharing. The encryption and access control features are great and I trust the tool to keep our important documents secure and monitor the access to it in real time. It is tightly controlled, offers doc permission and great encryptions that we need.

**What do you dislike about Papermark Virtual Data Room?**

It just works but there can few things that can be better, for example, If I upload a new version of a document in an already existing link which I shared, it is not always clear to recipient that they are viewing the latest file unless I tell them in a quick text or a mail.

**What problems is Papermark Virtual Data Room solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I regularly work with sensitive IP and startup materials that should be maintained securely till the deal completion. Papermark offers a secure room where I can manage the document and share it with our team and to the external recipients with peace of mind.

We use Papermark for deal flow and it fits perfectly into our current deal flow pipeline with Tally Form. From receiving the deck from the form, to creating a local backup and to keep records for archive purpose, it does the job well and lets us know when they are being read in time.

**What do you dislike about Papermark Virtual Data Room?**

It supports a huge range of formats and sometimes the document formatting can get off a little, based on the document aspect. That is something we have to check every time before sending, so far Papermark has been a stable tool and works well.

**What problems is Papermark Virtual Data Room solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We wanted more control than a shared document can provide and Papermark offered the solution we been looking for. It saves a lot of back and forth of sending and receiving docs from other teams, thus became a go to for our internal sharing, all over our firm.

**What do you like best about Papermark Virtual Data Room?**

The interface is simple almost notion like and folder management is very much user friendly. The viewing experience is professional like existing cloud sharing tools and it is like a smarter google drive link which tracks our viewers, lets us know what is happening with our documents in real time.

**What do you dislike about Papermark Virtual Data Room?**

The file syncing on Papermark sometimes breaks when multiple people work on uploads at the same time and causes a lag on it, but a simple refresh fixes the issue. Apart from some UX and collaboration issues to fix, nothing much to dislike.

**What problems is Papermark Virtual Data Room solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can upload a pitch deck of our portfolio company in seconds and share a clean link when I reach out with our co investor when we lead the round. We can manage the documents and instantly see when the recipient we shared views it without needing to chase them down at all times, thus greatly reducing the work time.

**What do you like best about Papermark Virtual Data Room?**

I handle a lot of the day-to-day operations and coordination between our partners and portfolio companies, and Papermark makes it easy to receive the documents from the founder and share the documents. I just send the links instead of uploading the whole files for each company every time.

**What do you dislike about Papermark Virtual Data Room?**

Records or logs of the version changes we made inside a room would go a long way in making sure we did not accidently lose some files and to keep track of the document version history. I hope Papermark team adds the feature in the nearby release.

**What problems is Papermark Virtual Data Room solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It saves a lot of time in my follow ups and helps me to prioritise which one to chase first, it is essential when we are involved in an active fundraising. It is a simple tool, and made like other cloud sharing tools but the team designed it for VCs and the complementary data room make it a good choice for early stage companies.

**What do you like best about Papermark Virtual Data Room?**

I like how the viewing experience is made minimal and keeps the focus entirely on the document at hand, it really makes a great difference when we are sending investment memos or portfolio updates to our partners. Also the support team is very responsive and I have noticed they release updates quickly.

**What do you dislike about Papermark Virtual Data Room?**

I would like to see more integrations to the tool, they currently have great integrations with Notion, even with entire page integrations inside the link. So more integrations with frequently used tools will make it a great platform and would also cut some manual updates we’re doing now.

**What problems is Papermark Virtual Data Room solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it daily now and it saves us a great deal of time. I was used to google drive for document handling, but Papermark is like a smart google drive that is actually designed for VC workflows in mind and for most use cases in the startup environment.

**What do you like best about Papermark Virtual Data Room?**

Papermark became a daily tool for us. The standout for me is that is how easy it is to share everything from pitch decks, financial models or notion page into a single place. It offers high storage and great folder management for us to classify files and tag it for use later on.

**What do you dislike about Papermark Virtual Data Room?**

While the Papermark syncs well on all devices even on mobile, sometimes simultaneous uploads fails. When multiple team members are uploading simultaneously on the same folder, things go wrong since we have a single room where we manage all files.

**What problems is Papermark Virtual Data Room solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As an associate I reviewing dozens of pitch decks a week from founders who outreach to us. Founders most of the time send multiple versions and it is hard to keep track of what is the latest one, but now we switched to a Papermark link upon the deal flow which keep us updated.

What I like most is the simultaneous editing, it allows us to have a single data room for the entire team and we can work on the latest version without any confusion and collaborate on confidential financial documents, due diligence reports, and internal memos to edit them in real time.

**What do you dislike about Papermark Virtual Data Room?**

What could be better is sometimes switching between multiple documents does not display well and needs a refresh on the web interface to load completely. I would also like to see more file format support, more data specific file format support would make it best suited for data related applications like ours.

I would say this is a great tool for anyone who handle sensitive documents or manage things for administration. The setup very easy and it just takes a minute to create an entire link with its link access settings properly. Turning the sharable link off is simple and I make sure everyone sees the latest version with papermark without sending any attachments.

**What do you dislike about Papermark Virtual Data Room?**

It functions well but if I have to pick one to say, I would say there is a noticeable lag sometimes when large files are being opened and also the large files takes a while to upload and slows down the browser performance.

We now don’t have to worry about our PDFs being forwarded or accessed by the wrong people who are outside of the circle and get real-time tracking of the visitor when someone opens the memo document we created.

**What do you like best about Papermark Virtual Data Room?**

The thing I like best is that I can upload large files, I just drop all the documents and videos proof our founders send us in a single folder. The entire due diligence team looks up the data room and make notes, keeping the entire deal in one place. It also supports multiple file formats and has very good folder management.

The mobile experience should be made better, I used to view the documents on my phone and the viewing experience could be made a lot better like it is in web version. The web version is very user friendly and looks simple keeping the focus on the document at all time.

It’s a great tool, the team create this tool with having both founders and ventures firms in mind, it has all the features we need to maintain the entire deal flow and it offers both tracking and data room facilities. It saves us a lot of time and keeps all our files in one place.

We have been using Papermark to track and manage all our deal documents, its has been a great tool. What I appreciate the most in it is the end-to-end encryption it offers. That way we can safely share sensitive financial files in a single shareable link to our LPs and our founders.

**What do you dislike about Papermark Virtual Data Room?**

It is a great platform but I have noticed some occasional upload lags when I try to upload files, for me it happened on large zips. When I upload smaller files of zip, it uploads quickly and successfully all the time. The same files load up quickly when seeing at in viewing.

From my experience Papermark is a reliable tool for document sharing and turns out a good decision that our firm switched to Papermark and it happened recently. In a short time period, it helped us greatly in both sharing our documents externally and helping us manage our entire deal flow.

It helps our internal process and provides us with real time data on who is viewing the docs and how they are looking at it and where they lose interest. We review each pitch analytics and send out portfolio founders notes on their pitch decks so that they can improve the sections of pitch.

**What do you dislike about Papermark Virtual Data Room?**

A few interface tweaks, performance speed and better control over email notifications would make it a great platform that could handle documents but even as right now it does its job well and our firm uses it for both document sharing and tracking.

Before Papermark the documents control was a night mare, with each of us have accidently to work on different versions. We have a source link where our founders sent the latest deck and the entire diligence team share the same live link with the latest version deck and work on without any versioning issues.

I love how simple the product is and the tracking features were very useful in understanding the partners engagements. We like the custom branding and the ability to put our logo onto the document when the visitors see, it gives a professional feel when we send out links to our investors.

**What do you dislike about Papermark Virtual Data Room?**

There are few file formats we use that are still missing and needs to be added, we just zip the files and upload it currently. Once in a while it also takes much processing when having web dashboard open on multiple tabs, it really takes much and it could be made better (it happens on firefox so i switched to chrome).

We now mostly share confidential files with both our founders and LPs with a shareable link and skip doing email threads. It helps us keep the documents from leaking unintentionally when being shared and the analytics data from the dashboard helps us identity who are really interested & where leads to follow up.

Papermark works really well and I love how the documents links are automatically copied to our clipboard when it is done uploading. It is really a simple thing but makes a great difference when we handle documents and decks all day. The tracking and page analytics are very helpful in understanding how our viewers react.

**What do you dislike about Papermark Virtual Data Room?**

Sometimes the upload stops without any error notifications, the browser pages just stops mid upload, it happens when we upload bulk files of large file size. We just have to make sure that the files we selected are correctly upload after it finish every time to ensure we have everything.

We required insights into how our LPs are interacting with the founders pitch and which sections are peaking their interest and which ones are they skipping, Papermark offered a great solution to this problem we faced. We securely share sensitive firm materials and decks to partners in a single link regularly.

One of the biggest pain points we used to have was to keep track of which version of the deck or report we sent to LPs and whether they opened it. Papermark basically solved the problem we had and even offers understandable data which our analyst team use to create reports for our partners.

While it is not perfect on the collaboration side, its performance and tracking features are strong enough to make it a great sharing tool we used so far. With a few more updates and bug fix it can become the best tool for early-stage investments.

I love how simple it is, there is no learning curve at all from the basic to the advanced features all of them are made to be used by both legacy users and people who are new to the tool. We use it regularly to keep the portfolio company updates with our stakeholders and LPs.

**What do you dislike about Papermark Virtual Data Room?**

Few of the recipients we used the link with to send mails said our mails with the active links lands the mail in spam folder. I wish there were some more feature existed like more visualising like the exiting dashboard and batch settings to be applied on the entire folder subdocuments.

If you are at an VC firm or a founder who is currently raising and still sending PDFs using email or having hard time with google drive permissions, give Papermark a try and it will solve most of your sharing problems.

I handle the high volume of pitch decks sent to our firm and sometimes involve in due diligence, I found the bulk upload feature for Papermark really useful in both case.  The document search also works well and help me locate files from months ago without digging through email threads.

The mobile experience needs some improvement, it is not as the same level as of the web interface. I sometime review docs on my mobile between meetings and it not the same. The documents take a while to load but it occurs occasionally.

It is better than sending documents as attachments via email. It saves me a lot of time when uploading and organising the documents. We mostly use Papermark to receive decks from founders and share decks with our LPs. The link is trackable and the viewing data is retainable so it is a reliable tool for organising and sharing documents in cloud.

We were always searching for right file versions across email threads, the thread was endless with mismatching versions of the same document when the deals are moving fast on the final stage of negotiations. Now we share dynamic legal documents with single link and just monitor the access.

Currently the access control either restrict the entire document or allows it on proving the recipient, but we need to have more control. I would like to lock down specific sections of the document we shared and only visible to the founders, and their counsel. In this way, we can a single sensitive doc.

It reduced confusion and miscommunication in diligence and deal flow. I share one link and know everyone is working on the same version. The access control and viewer tracking are very helpful and it brought the entire deal flow and keeps legal in sync with the investment team.

Papermark is very simple, has easy interface and brings must needed features to the sidebar and have the visitor dashboard right where we login, these are my favourites features. What I love is the updatable link with password and access control, we can just share a link that never changes and keep on tracking.

It needs more permissions, when various departments use same document room. We currently have separate rooms for each department, so it is kind of a double work. I would also like to see tag features with color and icons for easy document filtering.

Started as a document sharing tool, Papermark has become an important part of how I manage the internal operations of our firm and all the founder materials. The best thing I like about Papermark is that we can pin point which sections of the memos our LPs are skipping and compare the data with previous quarters. This helps us to prioritise follows up to the LPs and adjust the interest accordingly. It gives them a personalised touch on our memos, keeping them engagement with active fundraising.

The tracking is powerful but Papermark needs more integrations with other data tools. Right now, I manually export the document data and clean the data before using it in our existing tools. Right now, it has only one visualization for the view data, a bar chart. It would be great if there can be dotted matrix and such data representation visual which we can direly import to memos.

The problem Papermark solved is that our reports are backed by data and has more clarity than before. We have an internal dashboard that is driven by the few key data it provides. It is a great tracking tool and shows visibility into how our viewers are doing.

A perfect platform for collaboration. If I send a document to a founder and the partner wants to weigh in, they can see all the activity with just the same shared link, with no email forwarding. I like how simple it is to use and they kept all the advanced features to the setting page and only the frequently used up on the dashboard.

Not much, but better version control and notifications would make the entire tool more useful. Only the only to keep track of the document tractions is from the dashboard and the notifications only informs the document has a view from the email address, nothing more than that.

We review dozens of pitch decks a week and create internal memo once and the tool keeps us from losing track of the decks in email threads or team folders. The analytics has solved most of our discussion when someone spends 12 minutes on a memo vs. just 30 seconds it helps us understand the interest.

Papermark is open source and I like to use open-source tools whenever possible. The team actively support the open source initiatives and it is very rare for such a VC tool to be open source. It allows us to hosting inside our firm’s domain using the custom domain features with our branding options.

**What do you dislike about Papermark Virtual Data Room?**

The only thing I dislike about Papermark is the notifications. The email notifications are too basic. The tool needs login every time to view the dashboard for little context about the visitor but the primary dashboard has multiple visitor tracking information.

The best alternative to DocSend and its simplicity saves tons of unnecessary clicks, all the most needed features are just a single click away. It is a great tool for both managing and sharing documents and we use it to communicate with both LPs and our portfolio founders every day.

I would like to see more integrations with other deck tools and data room features, like with Notion. The email logins should be changed, it is great for SSO but it should have password logging regular operations.

What I like most about Papermark is the tracking, we can see when the documents were opened and how long each person we shared to, spent on what part of the document. It also keeps the record in archive, so we can use it to review the required data later on. The user interface is minimalistic and simple so it does not distract the deck view.

There is a strong folder system and has multiple permission access control, so it works well for both managing the documents in the cloud and sharing the documents securely for the intended recipient.

When handling both internal firm documents and deal flow, it is easily getting pile up, for links to get out of hand without grouping options. The tag functions which Papermark recently released helps but I sometimes wish there were more extensive grouping options.

Papermark keeps our entire due diligence on cloud and the access controls keeps the portfolio proprietary information secure throughout our evaluation process. Receiving due diligence process was chaotic with documents via email and its constant needs for version updates, but Papermark seamlessly keeps everything on links.

The platform is great with just some minor performance bugs. The document upload sometimes become non responsive when uploading multiple documents, the issue happens on Firefox. The page becomes stuck and needs a refresh for us to resume work, but it does not occur frequently so that is manageable.

As a Principal I manage multiple due diligence processes simultaneously which taking around 10 companies per quarter. Papermark solved the sharing problems with offering a tool with the ability to track exactly which sections are being viewed the most. I track the engagement and create a summary for each company based on the likes and dislikes of our LPs for each deal that get past diligence.

Papermark makes version control a non issue, a thing of the past. Since I handle documents with data, it is constantly changing so I end up with multiple versions of the same file from our portfolio companies. Now it is just a single link with the most recent data changes.

The detailed engagement analytics is my favourite feature of Papermark, it keeps the comment and tracks activities in real time. I never searched for an email thread after switching to Papermark.

I wish there were more filtering system for documents, once your room holds few dozen documents this becomes a must needs feature. Also, few of our recipients told us that the Papermark document link when embedded in email text, triggers spam and lands the mail to the spam folder.

The email notifications system primarily needs improvement, the feature is one of the most essential but it still lacks to fulfil requirement. We use Papermark every day to share our internal documents with our LPs and to look the incoming pitch decks from founders. We used to request founders to share links with drop box or google earlier on, but we switched to Papermark now. The version control and transparency (who viewed what and when) is very useful especially when coordinating across team.

The documents search options and sorting could be made better, it is hard to locate a required doc when the document mark crosses 100+. Need more integration with existing CRM and LP management software. All in all, the tool does the job well for doc sharing, there are just improvements to be made to make it line with VC operations.

In investor relations, document security and the access control are key in how we do things and Papermark does a great job here. It has an end-to-end encryption and adjustable permission control for when we share sensitive documents from our portfolio companies to the investors.

What stands out is how easily I can embed charts, links, founder decks, and collaborative comments all in one place. It feels like Notion and Google Docs is together, but that’s totally built with a VC use case in mind. There is no learning curve and onboarding existing doc collections is very easy even when we are used to traditional document systems.

The interface is minimal which is great for viewing the documents and for upload & maintenance. The access control in a single place and sorting options makes a big difference when you are writing multiple investment notes a week.

It works well but I wish there were more templates tailored for VCs like memo, landscape maps. The mobile usability is fine but not as good as web. I hope the team can make it better making reviewing pitch summaries on the go much easier.

I love the analytics capabilities the tool offers, we can see how long someone spent on a file, which pages they viewed, and when they viewed. The encryption and customization are also great for maintaining branding and safely share documents containing confidently data.

Uploads can occasionally stall if the entire team is working on the same room at the same time during simultaneous uploads. The document viewing experience on mobile is not on par with the web interface, the web interface is very simple and offers a professional view for our documents.

I manage our ESG reporting with portfolio companies to gather the data. Papermark lets me manage everything from our companies and easily share those files with the LPs. I mostly use the folder tags it saves a lot of time when generating same type of reviews for each company.

We frequently use excel and such I wish there were a smooth integration with both excel and google sheets, since many of our ESG documents and templates are of spreadsheets. Papermark supports our required data formats and keeps well with uploads but in preview would be helpful.

**What do you like best about Papermark Virtual Data Room?**

The ease of use, SEO capabilities, and the overall dataroom tracking (and filtering capabilities therein). Compared to the standard go-to dataroom/document sharing platforms, Papermark isn't overpriced and covers most (if not all and more) of what the competition does, without costing an arm and a leg in the process.

We've been using it for our overall data sharing for our fundraise over the last few months and use it every other week when making updates. The overall implementation process has been very easy and works well for both technical and non-technical peers.

The main issue we faced early on was document ingestion and processing for larger files, e.g., PDF decks, which sometimes even got stuck and didn't finish without getting help from the Papermark team.

Outside of this, we haven't really stumbled on any major hurdles.

Papermark’s cloud sharing tool with the data room makes it perfect for keeping our entire deal flow in cloud. It has great access control and separate room creations which allows multiple team members to work at the same time. The expiration system for outbound links is my favourite for sharing and forgetting the confidential files.

They need to make link duplication for inbound links instead of republishing it. We currently download cloud links from other platforms and then upload it to our Papermark room which makes it difficult for processing daily incoming deals. It would be easier if we could just duplicate inbound links directly without having to republish everything.

We used to mostly depend on internal servers for maintaining file management Papermark has greatly reduced the usage. We picked Papermark for its self-hosting capabilities which kept our data safe like how we used to keep it in our internal servers which we use now primarily for backup.

Papermark looks great and it really has a straight forward interface. Since the tool is open source, we host it inside our firm. It provides more ownership and allows us to handle both our internal and external document transfer securely. It also integrates well with our MFT keeping the data in sync with our backups.

**What do you dislike about Papermark Virtual Data Room?**

It is great that Papermark has email notification, but it needs some more work. The notifications are not displayed correctly on browsers and it only shows limited information, like who viewed the document. It would be very helpful if more details of doc analytics can be added to it.

Overall my experience with Papermark is very good with just minor glitches and it is really a must needed tool for VCs. It helped us run our firm operations smoothly and reduce our document handling time.

Simple structure, easy access. No-nonsense functions. Good feedback from external data room users regarding tidiness, structure and simplicity, which is vital when dealing with investors and VCs. Easy access controls to manage data room access and groups.

**What do you dislike about Papermark Virtual Data Room?**

Deleting docs is cumbersome as one has to type the doc name or some similar confirmation. Yes or no would do. A bit more customization in the data room GUI would be nice, the background image is a start but other colours and themes would be great (But nice to have).
For non disclosure purposes, it would be great, to just be able to add a short statement on confidentiality of the data room contents and that the user consents to this by logging in using his email address on the data room login page.

Papermark is my go-to tool for sharing documents internally with my teammates and externally. I can simply change my settings and access permissions while keeping the same link which is very convenient. The read analysis feature is very useful, it helps us understand what is perceived as important and where each visitor lose interest.

The problem is the ability to change the links viewing. The papermark is primarily designed with pitch deck in minds, so it lacks when sharing other documents types though it has many file attachments formats available. Sharing other file formats is fine but working on it while viewing is limited. I hope the team adds more features in the next update.

We internally categorise the visitor analysis, especially when it comes to pitch decks. We send the link with our external advisors who can react on each slide and comment at last, simplifying the entire process. My favourite feature of Papermark is the screenshot protection, it gives us protection to our confidential documents. There are very few tools who offer this feature, it prevents most attempts of screenshot and in many browsers. Also the tool is open source and has very good branding options.

**What do you dislike about Papermark Virtual Data Room?**

I would like to see more integrations with our CRM and get faster document loading times, PDFs, even larger documents do load faster, but file types like zip takes a little longer than expected. These are just minor things to be done.

We were using two cloud platforms for document handling before Papermark, one for storing files for internal teams and one for sharing links to track. Papermark brought both of them together and it saved much of our workflow and now we just share the link faster.

Papermark changed how we share performance updates, quarterly report and decks with our LPs. I like how we can share just one link and update it without resending anything. The viewing tracking is also a much needed bonus and the notifications system to mail is great.

We faced viewing issues with our links on mobile devices and sometimes in tablets too. It is harder to analyse the page view and its timing without exporting the data manually, but these are minor issues compared to the functionality it has.
