**What do you like best about OutSail?**

I like that OutSail helps evaluate HRIS options, ensuring the systems integrate well with our existing software and align well with our stated needs.  OutSail was recommended to me within 2 different HR Slack communities. I was able to quickly connect with the founder, Brett, who provided evaluation support fitting our lean team's criteria. I was able to meet 1x1 with a member of their team to discuss what was not working with our current vendor and what we needed in a new provider. After the call, they distilled our conversation into a scorecard format and populated it with vendors within the space that aligned with our stated criteria. This report card template was easy to read and documented everything needed to ensure our compliance team was ept up to speed on our evaluation. Additionally, their deep expertise in the market also provided us with insight into what to expect in terms of fair pricing, which was extremely helpful throughout the negotiation process. Using OutSail made our evaluation process clearer and more efficient. The team was consultative and knowledgeable, never pushing paid services, and their documentation was essential for future audits. They supported us through vendor negotiations, ensuring fair pricing. OutSail's consultative nature and market expertise extended our reach, helping us make a thorough decision on a high-touch system important to our organization.

**What do you like best about OutSail?**

What I like best about OutSail is their deep expertise paired with a truly unbiased perspective. They weren’t tied to any specific platform, so their guidance was grounded in what actually made sense for our organization, not in pushing a particular solution. I also really valued their candor. They asked thoughtful, sometimes challenging questions that pushed us to examine whether we were framing problems and requirements the right way. That honesty and intellectual rigor made the process better and led to stronger, more confident decisions.

**What do you dislike about OutSail?**

There wasn’t anything I disliked about working with OutSail. The only consideration is that adding an external partner requires intentional coordination and communication to keep everyone aligned. In our case, the value OutSail provided far outweighed the additional touchpoints, and their responsiveness made that coordination easy to manage.

Outsail was an outstanding partner throughout our HRIS evaluation process. They helped us clearly define what we actually needed (not just what vendors were selling), guided us through identifying the best-fit solutions, pressure-tested our top HRIS contenders, and supported us through contract review with a sharp, unbiased lens.

We connected with OutSail to solve the problem of the current HRIS no longer meeting our needs and to evaluate a new solution. We were facing a complex HRIS evaluation with competing priorities, strong sales pressure from vendors, and real risk of choosing a system that wouldn’t scale with our business or culture. OutSail brought structure, independence, and expertise to the process. Helping us clarify our true requirements, objectively evaluate and compare platforms, and understand the real tradeoffs between options.

The benefit was a faster, more confident decision with far less risk. We cut through marketing noise and entered contract negotiations informed and prepared. Ultimately, OutSail helped us select an HRIS aligned to our operational needs and long-term strategy, not just what looked good in a demo.

Logan was very helpful.  With OutSail's help I was able to narrow my search immediately to 4 companies.  Logan helped me setup intro meetings with the 4 and I was able to narrow it down quickly to 2.  It saved me a lot of time.

With a background in HR consulting and HRIS implementations, I knew just how overwhelming it could be to select a new HRIS provider. I’d been the one creating complex spreadsheets comparing HRIS options, so when I heard about Outsail, I was genuinely intrigued.

Working with Outsail was a game-changer for my team. Their support was invaluable—they helped us quickly narrow down a shortlist of vendors that aligned with our unique needs, saving us tons of time and effort. Once you determine your needs, start with OutSail before doing your own research on the options.  Without a service like OutSail you could spend hours and hours looking into options (and feeling overwhelmed) without any direction or process for narrowing down.

**What problems is OutSail solving and how is that benefiting you?**

OutSail took all the HR tech solutions available on the marketplace (and there are A LOT of options!) and helped us narrow down based on our needs then provided a comprehensive overview of the options with unbiased reviews of each as well as metric-based evaluation tools to assess them ourselves.  Without OutSail, I was overwhelmed by the options and biased by all the people selling their solutions.  After using OutSail I felt confident we were making an informed choice.

His insight was exactly what we needed to not only find the vendor best suited for our organization, but to get the very best pricing possible. With countless HRIS options on the market, it's easy to get overwhelmed by the daunting process of researching and evaluating different systems. OutSail made it a breeze - we had curated options presented in an easily digestible format, saving me countless hours of research and allowing me to jumpstart the project way faster than I would've been able to otherwise. Knowing that our shortlist had vendors specifically tailored to our company's size and was invaluable and meant we were evaluating solid options from the get-go. Thanks to OutSail, we identified and signed on with our new HRIS provider within weeks - not the months I was expected to have to dedicate to this project!

Very transparent and eager to help. There wasn't a single point where Brett wasn't available to help push our needs and leverage anything he could to get partners to aid us on any additional requirements we had. He also had many key documents that helped make the RFP process that much easier.

Can't say there is much here as Brett is committed to the best service he can give and willing to even jump on with the broader team to make things happen

If you have a concern or need in the HR technology space (whether ATS, Employee Engagement platform, HRIS or others), they are an absolutely excellent consultant to work with to understand your pain points and help you really hone in on what alternatives are available.

We were having trouble with our current HRIS and our setup. We needed to consider a new solution to keep up with our accelerated volume and size. They were able to get us several vendor options while also providing great resources to draw comparisons and get a wholistic view of what the best HRIS solution looks like for you.

We worked with OutSail to determine which HRIS made sense for our company as we scale from about 50 people to up to a few hundred. We had a lot of constraints including integrations with existing systems and nuances with our org structure and employee distribution. OutSail helped us find appropriate options and gave us meaning criteria and scoring to make the decision making easier, and then introducing us to the right teams at each company.

Brett is very responsive and was diligent in checking in on us during our process! He was there to guide us through this very quick turnaround and help us keep on task even during demo fatigue! I also have appreciated receiving vendor recommendations to assist us with implemenation. OutSail has continued to guide us through all stages of the process.

I do not believe there were any downsides to partnering wit OutSail.

I definitely recommend companies partnering with OutSail. The support and knowledge expertise that OutSail brought to our table will assist us in being succesful in our quick turnaround implementation.

My company was in a very difficult position withour our current HRIS. We were struggling and not receiving the service we need to be successful. We made the decision to start the process to find a new system on a short timeframe. We could not have accomplished this huge lift without the assistance of OutSail and Brett! We were able to narrow our search to 3 top matches which in the end saved us countless hours of searching and viewing demos!

The shortlist report was a detailed report which highlighted features and strengths of the vendors - some we had already seen, and some new ones. The information was very valuable and the tips on preparing to evaluate solutions and preparing to negotiate pricing were also very helpful.

Nothing to dislike - no downside that we could see.

**What problems is OutSail solving and how is that benefiting you?**

OutSail helped us sift through so many similar HRIS solutions and make sense of their strengths and weaknesses. We also found this to be a useful addition to our information when making the case for our ultimate choice. We found OutSail halfway through our HRIS search, and wish we'd known about it sooner. Unless you've got a seasoned HRIS person on board, this is a very useful service.

Be honest and transparent with what you are trying to solve, the budget, and potential roadblocks. Be vulnerable to asking for guidance if you don't have 100% experience in a massive HCM overhaul.

**What problems is OutSail solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mid 2023, I had a project to review potential solution providers for HCM and compare them with our current HCM to determine the best fit and pricing. On a peer network blog someone recommend it to reach out to OutSail. I didn't, and the review tile says everything that I experienced through the process.

I highly recommend OutSail if you're shopping around for various HR technologies.  They are FREE and they do a great job of listening to requirements and recommending various technology based on your needs.

**What problems is OutSail solving and how is that benefiting you?**

OutSail assisted me in selecting the first ATS for my company.  I had implemented several ATS's in previous roles, but I was always the one who reached out to various ATS systems myself and requested/scheduled demos.  OutSail listened to my requirements and sent me back a list of several ATS's with a ranking of their fit based on my needs.  They actually scored one ATS I had not previously heard of at the top of the list.  After several demos we selected that ATS.  We're currently in the implementation process, but we expect the ATS to meet our global needs very well!

OutSail took the burden of researching, interviewing, shortlisting, demoing, etc., off our plate. Our OutSail representatives listened to our concerns and pain points and made meaningful recommendations to meet our needs. They saved us ample time and money.

Nothing comes to mind regarding dislikes of OutSail. We initially had trouble connecting, but that was on my end, not theirs. We had a great experience overall.

OutSail landed that processor after very thorough and intensive research, which helped us save a ton of time for navigating.

Highly recommend OutSail if you don't have a big HR team to run those tasks.

OutSail helped us to find a great processor to manage our international contractors' payroll. That processor's platform is very straightforward and well-functioned. Their support team is super responsive.

Outsail did a full analysis of our HRIS needs and returned a detailed report including ratings, recommendations and comprehensive product insights to help us choose an HRIS for our small and growing company.  

This solved the challenge of trying to navigate a sea filled with solutions about which it would have taken me countless hours of my time to get information and I'm not sure I would have ended up at the end understanding the landscape as well as I did with Outsail's assistance.
