"Oracle as infrastructure for Containers"
What do you like best about Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Container Engine for Kubernetes?

Ease of Use: OKE offers a user-friendly interface and simplified workflows for deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters. It provides a managed Kubernetes service, which means that the infrastructure and operational tasks are abstracted away, allowing users to focus on their applications.

Scalability and Performance: OKE is designed to scale easily and efficiently. It allows users to scale their Kubernetes clusters based on workload demands, ensuring high availability and performance.

Security and Reliability: OKE incorporates security best practices and provides features such as network isolation, encryption, and access controls to protect Kubernetes clusters and the applications running on them. It also offers reliable infrastructure and manages the underlying hardware and software components.

Integration with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure: OKE seamlessly integrates with other Oracle Cloud Infrastructure services, enabling users to leverage additional functionalities such as object storage, database services, and monitoring tools within their Kubernetes deployments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Container Engine for Kubernetes?

omplexity for beginners: Kubernetes itself can have a steep learning curve, and while managed services like OKE simplify some aspects, beginners may still find it complex to configure and manage Kubernetes clusters effectively.

Cost considerations: While managed services like OKE offer convenience and scalability, they come with associated costs. Users should consider the pricing structure, resource usage, and potential additional costs for features or integrations.

Dependency on the cloud provider: Choosing a managed Kubernetes service like OKE means relying on a specific cloud provider. This can lead to vendor lock-in and potential limitations in terms of portability and flexibility.

Customization limitations: Managed services often abstract away the underlying infrastructure and provide pre-configured settings, which may limit certain customization options compared to self-managed Kubernetes deployments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"OCI Container Enginer for Kubernetes"
What do you like best about Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Container Engine for Kubernetes?

OCI is a great cloud platform which provides a plethora of services like other cloud providers. Container Engine for Kubernetes works seamlessly on this platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Container Engine for Kubernetes?

I feel that the user interface of the OCI platform can be improved. It looks relatively dull as compared to other cloud providers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Customised Kubernetes clusters with OKE"
What do you like best about Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Container Engine for Kubernetes?

OKE provides a great set of features for the customizability of the cluster even with using the QuickStart option to create a cluster. The speed at which the cluster is created is good compared to a few other managed Kubernetes providers. Accessing the cluster through the Oracle Cloud Shell or the oci CLI is simple and secure with the instructions from the clusters page. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Container Engine for Kubernetes?

Monitoring an OKE cluster seems almost impossible since there are no vendors that provide out-of-the-box integrations for Oracle Cloud. The experience of creating a cluster through Custom Create is not great because the instructions are not clear and we end up without creating the necessary components but it provides a great level of customizability. Kubernetes is a fast-growing project and has a major release every 6 months but Oracle is not quick in updating these versions for OKE. OKE is still in its early stages, for example, if we try to create a cluster with 10 nodes and we do not have the capacity in our compartment, Oracle will not prevent us from creating a cluster but instead does not create the nodes once it reaches capacity.
