I am a WordPress website owner and plugins and themes already make my site heavy. I have used multiple plugins and services including ShortPixel and EWWW. But none come close to the might of Optimole.
My favourite part about Optimole was the straightforward dashboard that gives me information at a glance about my usage, billing, traffic, and various other metrics.
I use Cloudflare CDN, but the fact that this it is a CDN ensures helps better serve my geographically distinct userbase. I have used the free version in the past as well, and even that was quite robust.
I used it to lazyload images for better website loading times as well. The native tools help convert my images to WebP without consuming extra storage. This is especially advantageous to people with limited storage on their website hosting plans.
The compression levels are automatically adjusted to balance performance and speed. They say they use some ML algorithm to optimise compression, I never understood how it worked, but all I would say is it gets the job done. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Everything happens on Cloud. This means even for the smallest images the server connects to cloud. For a low budget hosting owner, this is quite taxing for my limited bandwidth and I/O. I understand that even for on-device optimisation CPU/RAM are consumed. But, generally, the services are always capped at I/O and bandwidth rather than CPU, which makes Optimole not a good value for money.
Furthermore, I have personally faced some struggles with plugin compatibility with LiteSpeed Cache and various other plugins. But that might be just specific to me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
