## About ClockOut
ClockOut combines an employee time clock and shift scheduling in one app, built for US businesses with 10 to 50 hourly workers: restaurants, clinics, home care agencies, cleaning companies, security firms, construction crews, hotels, and nonprofits. TIME CLOCK Employees clock in from the native iOS or Android app, from a shared tablet kiosk using a PIN or QR badge, or from the web. Every punch records a GPS location stamp and the resolved address. Geofencing (Starter and Pro) blocks clock-ins outside a defined work area, with a radius from 10 to 10,000 meters and a 50-meter accuracy buffer. Punches made offline are queued on the device and synced when the connection returns. Punch limiting stops early clock-ins before a scheduled shift and can require a scheduled shift to clock in. Auto clock-out and missed-punch reminders keep timesheets clean. SCHEDULING Managers build weekly schedules from recurring templates, post open shifts that staff claim from their phones, approve shift swaps, collect shift confirmations with automatic reminders, and see availability and approved time off on the schedule board. Positions and fair rotation requests, employee groups, and a schedule change log are included. TIME OFF Time-off requests and approvals on every plan. PTO policies, accrual balances, carryover, company holidays, and blackout dates on Starter and Pro. Approved leave removes the employee from assigned shifts. APPROVALS AND PAYROLL Employees submit completed weeks, managers approve or reject with a note, and edits keep a before-and-after record. An exception inbox flags missed punches, no-shows, late arrivals, early departures, geofence violations, break violations, and auto clock-outs before payroll runs. Hours export as CSV on every plan. Pro adds pay runs with lock and export, and formatted files for RUN Powered by ADP, Gusto, QuickBooks, Xero, and Sage. ClockOut does not process payroll and does not push data by API. PRO CONTROLS Multiple locations with a geofence per site (up to 20), device and IP locks, photo proof of work with client share links, a compliance pack with daily overtime, double time, and seventh-day rules, job costing, and an AI schedule draft. SECURITY AND PRIVACY Passwords are hashed with PBKDF2-SHA256 at 100,000 iterations with a random salt. Sessions use 48-byte random tokens with 30-day expiry, and a password change invalidates other sessions. Login is rate limited. Location is captured only at punch time, never in the background, and there are no biometric time clocks. All records are scoped to the company account. PRICING Free for up to 2 people. Starter is $19 a month for up to 5 people, then $3 per extra person. Pro is $39 a month for up to 5 people, then $6 per extra person. Annual billing saves 20 percent. 14-day trial, no credit card, no per-location fee.
