**What do you dislike about Openlink?**

Pricing model looks expensive. alongwith upgrades and consultants with subject matter expertise.

**What problems is Openlink solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Openlink Endur eliminates manual data integration and reconciliation work required in trading operations.
Trading companies benefits from timely and accurate information for decision-making. It is single integrated solution for scheduling, trade capture, valuation, compliance and positional limits monitoring, position and risk reporting, collateral management.

  ### 2. Great tool for risk management for anyone doing business consulting

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Deniss M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Openlink?**

I work as a business consultant and have many clients with different cases. I mostly consult finance companies, IT and influencers. Every client has something different they want so one of the most valuable things is reporting tools.

**What do you dislike about Openlink?**

It is a bit hard to get into the tool to make most out of it. Having different clients across different segments means that it will most likely be different things each company wants to achieve, so making the learning process easier would be very helpful.

**Recommendations to others considering Openlink:**

As a consultant it is important to show all the gathered information as easy as possible. Finance is not an easy segment and one of those where you have a lot of data. As I always try to use only couple tools to make it easy to manage for businesses, Openlink helps a lot by providing a lot of solutions.

**What problems is Openlink solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am using tool mostly for it's visualization tools. This being said, I mostly focus on risk management for businesses and to make this kind of information to be easy for any of board members to understand, because usually there are just few people related to finances, so it is important to show all the information as easy as possible to all people. I also try to use tools companies are already using so it is easier for them to keep doing things I show after I am done with consulting and Open link is popular tool across Finance segment,

  ### 3. Evergreen Trading Platform with Up-to-Date Solutions

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stephanie N. | Chief Executive Officer, President » Communications Consulting, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2020

**What do you like best about Openlink?**

I love the new Renewable energy trading on Openlink Endur - it allows transitional energy companies the features to trade renewables and still keep their positions in traditional energy transactions.

**What do you dislike about Openlink?**

Website can be a bit sticky - I clicked on Oil & Gas and the page never moved (from the home page). Otherwise, the site is beautiful! As a sidenote - In 2004-5, I was contracted by an agency, Global Communication Works, to write all the OLF.com web copy, collaborating with a NY-based web writer. I wrote the entire Energy section, and he took the Financial section.

**What problems is Openlink solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Personally, I don't use it - but I know a lot about it having written for them while Shell and Marathon were customers, and have personally talked with traders and originators who use the software solutions - at Southwestern Energy, Oxy as well as the other two companies mentioned - and they are all very satisfied with this trading platform.

  ### 4. OpenLink Integration Analyst At Northwest Hospital from 11/2005 - 6/2007

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Timothy F. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 04, 2020

**What do you like best about Openlink?**

It contains all the HL7 message segments and fields for each version (v2.1 through 2.3.1). Unlike other messaging engines (Mirth, BizTalk Server) the HL7 message structure comes installed with the product and is relatively easy to install.

**What do you dislike about Openlink?**

Built on Microsoft Access which is not very good for automated backups. Very little API documentation (written in C --visual studio 6 if I recall) . I did not use OpenLink for anything other than HL7 messaging and I am not aware of it being used for anything other than healthcare messaging.

**What problems is Openlink solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When I worked for Siemens at a customer site, we were looking to replace the existing messaging engine and integrate with Soarian. For Siemens technology, it worked well and allowed for easy customization of HL7 Messages as well as adding new Healthcare related interfaces at the hospital.

I'm not sure whether Siemens is actively selling Soarian anymore, or if the OpenLink software has been updated to use .NET or a more newer architecture. I also remember that OpenLink was very proprietary and not available to non-Siemens customers.

  ### 5. Why OpenLink

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Oil & Energy | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 07, 2021

**What do you like best about Openlink?**

OpenLink has one of the leading risk and trading products in the ETRM space can model just about any type of financial and physical instrument. On the physical side one of the best for natural gas trading and scheduling some of the largest banks and energy companies manage their business on Endur. Reporting is well suited to manage any type of reporting, database structure (blobs) makes it difficult to extract data for special reports but is manageable. Compared to the remaining ETRM vendors OpenLink is in the upper right quadrant. The investment is expensive on the millions but will provide value across the organization. Keys to success will be investing in a 3rd party integrator that have the experts with a deep understanding of the data model this will guarantee a successfully project.

**What do you dislike about Openlink?**

OpenLink is lacking deep functionality when it comes to crude oil, NGLs and refined products but can manage these types of commodities. The better choice from ION would be RightAngle for crude oil, NGLs and refined products. The product is in need of a GUI upgrade very outdated with a mix of different looking screens. It has a strong data model but requires a large team of technical people to support onsite but has improved in some of the latest upgrades. The product can be launched in the cloud but has it's limitations. OpenLink pMotion is the power module although it can model power deals for psychical and financial you will still need to invest in a 3rd party power vendor (Adapt2, PCI, OATI) to support your power business. Very expensive and risky for smaller companies with tight budgets and smaller IT staffs, once OpenLink is implemented you will see value across the organization.

**What problems is Openlink solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My experience with customers and there feedback has been the following: Customers have solved integration concerns with gas nominations by building tools that allow them to trade real-time and nominate to the EBB's using OpenLink. Customers have found value in moving complex models from 3rd party systems or spreadsheets to OpenLink to value their positions from one source.

  ### 6. Working experience with Openlink Endur

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ankush S. | Lead Business Analyst-Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 04, 2020

**What do you like best about Openlink?**

Openlink Endur - great product for commodities trading.I worked for more than 2+ years in FO, MO applications for Commodities project. one of the best application used by major commodity trading organizations globally.

**What do you dislike about Openlink?**

Application though good but quite slow. also some feature like finding add in for HP ALM was a cumbersome task while we tried to do some automation in few Endur application for our project. Overall mantenance charge/renewal charge is high. That's why even many organisations these days looking for customized and cheap solution instead of Endur.

**What problems is Openlink solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used work for our commodies trading life cycle, MO related applications for trading activities taken up.

Being a robust, secure and reliable application,Endur was suitable for my project requirement.

  ### 7. The perfect end to end trade management system

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2020

**What do you like best about Openlink?**

The company do provide a good customer service. The solution given is always well informed and with utmost quality. And they really do respond within the time frame expected. In Case of clarifications, it is easy to approach them for a accurate solution.

**What do you dislike about Openlink?**

There was a time when the communication with the company was difficult due to resources lacking expertise in English in specific regions. I think this has been taken care later. I can't think of any dislikes I faced apart from this. And this is a story of almost 8 years back.

**What problems is Openlink solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have worked on Openlink tool Endur. I would say this is the means by which I learned trading. It includes all the aspects of trades in a single system making an easier management of your trades. The integrated solutions it have provides you with almost real time variations in your PNL which makes your decisions quicker

  ### 8. An industry standard, but with need of cosmetic and other upgrades

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Oil & Energy | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 27, 2020

**What do you like best about Openlink?**

The creators have clearly got a lot of knowledge about the industry, they know how things work in energy trading and what is required of such a system. It is customizable to almost any need that an energy trading department needs: trade capture, risk management, specific handling of different energy products.

**What do you dislike about Openlink?**

Does not really feel like a modern, digital product. Outdated, complicated UI. Can only navigate through the required screens after a lot of experience with the product, with limited resources like help functions to aid you learn. Very much like a maze.

**Recommendations to others considering Openlink:**

Not many alternatives out there, it's a solid system not easy to set up or maintain. Will definitely need to source an experienced team in the field.

**What problems is Openlink solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Complete ETRM system, which can be customized to most needs of an energy trading company.

  ### 9. Review of openlink Endur

Openlink Endur a great ETRM tool.I worked on the tool as per my project assignment. For MO and FO, it is one of best in terms of commodity, energy trading.

**What do you dislike about Openlink?**

It is quite costly software. Specially high maintenance cost makes it less affordable for smaller organizations.

**What do you like best about Openlink?**

Well designed platform, customisable for clients needs.
Premiere ETRM platfrom for commodities.
reporting and batch can be customised via C scripts.

**What do you dislike about Openlink?**

The company has changed ownership manytimes. the product is no longer maintained, and expertise on system is lacking. Vendor has monopoly on system, therefore companies would need to be aware of vendor risk.

**Recommendations to others considering Openlink:**

review the vendor risks with this vendor.

**What problems is Openlink solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The advantage of using OpenLink Endur is the platform can be highly automated. PNL, intra, and end of day risk, custom reporting, trade management.

  ### 11. Endur is not very user friendly, sometimes contra-intuitive

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Oil & Energy | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 07, 2020

**What do you like best about Openlink?**

- quite fast
- there's not much alternative on the market

**What do you dislike about Openlink?**

- confusing documentation
- one must remember some procedures by heart (i.e. you must know "where to click"
- lots of things need to be done manually, I would have appreciated e.g. the possibility of importing values for index deals in csv file rather that copying and pasting them

**What problems is Openlink solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used Endur for daily operations stuff in an energy trading department - helping traders and other employees (e.g. back office staff) to maintain the deals, contracts, etc.

**What problems is Openlink solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helped analyze clients' commodity investments, as well as look at the cost analysis of the implementation of the software itself
