As it is now, we have to use multiple pages to get the information needed. **Recommendations to others considering OpenGov Permitting & Licensing:** Opengov has saved us time and effort **What problems is OpenGov Permitting & Licensing solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have gone all online, bringing our system into a current trend. I believe it is easier for our residents to use and is more straightforward for us to use. The visual workflow tells customers and employees exactly where a permit is in the review process, and the ease of configuring new forms and making tweaks to the workflow allows us to continually improve the customer experience and our reviews. **What do you dislike about OpenGov Permitting & Licensing?** If there is a weakness (and that is a real "if") it is with reporting across different permit types. It is possible to do, but mostly by aggregating data in Excel after it is exported. **What problems is OpenGov Permitting & Licensing solving and how is that benefiting you?** It has fully digitized our permit submission process and allowed us to digitize our review processes as well. The biggest issue I've seen would be multiple breakdowns for one address. I love the fact that this program has streamlined our timing on applications and permits by a large margin. I also really appreciate having a support team online and available every day and they are always very quick to respond. **What do you dislike about OpenGov Permitting & Licensing?** We are still fairly new to the program, so most of our issues can be solved after asking a quick question to support. Right now the one thing I would like to see is the ability for an applicant to electronically sign a document that is sent to them at the end of the application process. **Recommendations to others considering OpenGov Permitting & Licensing:** This program can do so much for your business, regardless of industry. **What problems is OpenGov Permitting & Licensing solving and how is that benefiting you?** This program has immensely streamlined our permitting process by allowing all departments to have 24/7 access, ability to comment and review applications for all to see, and by shortening an application turnaround time by days, even weeks in some cases. ### 17. Flexibility and configuration ability with product. View Inspect product. Reporting capability. **What do you dislike about OpenGov Permitting & Licensing?** 1. Enhancement acceptance and ability to meet new needs (beyond configuration capability) 2. Other than Inspection Services permits of building, electrical, gas, mechanical and plumbing many permits/licenses in the Online Permit Center have bugs/ issues and cannot be used. It has taken 2 + years to get several Fire Permits to run successfully and debugged. Many issues are with default values and editing of input data. Many data field are not appropriate for the specific permits and the required/ not-required data fields are not setup for all permit types or for all screen fields. Custom data fields are not available for all permit/ license types. We need configuration setting to manager both availability for new permits and renewal of existing permits. We need configuration setting to ignore licenses for renewal for a specific date or before. Express permits do not have correct expiration dates in OPC (default to entry date not the specific configured expiration date) Many customer what more permits/ license to be support online but these issues stop this from happening. 3. Communication. Release changes. Only recently has the release notes come out before the actual release date. This should happen at all times. No release notes are provided for small fixes but are needed. Example:. only recently did we become aware of Inspector assigned capability for Fire Permits. Communication of contract expiration dates and new fees only appear near end date. Municipalities have budgets that are set 6 or 12 months before. Providing online services for permits/ license to residents, contractors and local businesses. Providing tablet based services to field inspectors for productivity and to improve data quality and timely data. Providing over the counter support for customers of permits/ licenses, inspection and certificates. Timely receipt of payments and transfer to Municipal bank accounts. Providing permit/ license information for pubic access and use. ### 18. Good project management function, and easy to create new permit types, reports, etc. **What do you dislike about OpenGov Permitting & Licensing?** The primary desktop screen is too busy and can not be manipulated or altered to only include the fields you need. The text is also too small. Also do not like the outside "report builder" program that is used to create forms, letters, etc.; it is extremely difficult to use. **Recommendations to others considering OpenGov Permitting & Licensing:** Pay to have on-site training if you have cumbersome processes. **What problems is OpenGov Permitting & Licensing solving and how is that benefiting you?** We've been able to streamline our permit intake and project tracking process.
