I ran a very simple 6-second, single-shot vertical video using an existing character. Director explicitly said it skipped the full script/planning workflow and went straight to a one-shot render. Despite that, the generation still consumed 1,304 credits in total. In my credit history, 652 credits were for the actual media generation (GPT Image 2 + Seedance 2.0), and another 652 credits were categorized as “Director - Agent Conversation.” In other words, 50% of the total cost went to agent/conversation overhead, even though I barely interacted with the agent and had chosen the most direct generation path. I find this billing model extremely hard to justify. The interface didn’t make it clear upfront that a short, simple Director request could trigger hundreds of additional credits in agent charges. Users should see an estimated breakdown of generation cost versus Director/agent overhead before committing to a render. I also ran into a safety-filter issue: my non-explicit character reference sheet, which included ordinary swimwear reference images, was rejected. That forced Director to fall back to a different reference image, which reduces the usefulness of the character-consistency workflow for fashion, swimwear, and creator-style content. OpenArt has strong underlying models and useful tools, but Director’s AI agent - hidden orchestration costs seriously hurt ROI. For now, I’d recommend using the direct image/video tools instead of Director unless OpenArt makes these charges transparent and substantially reduces the agent overhead. **What problems is OpenArt solving and how is that benefiting you?** So far, I haven’t been able to solve any problem using OpenArt beyond what I can already solve with alternatives. ### 2. I subscribed to the 4,000-credit plan and set up a music video project, providing the full scope up front. The platform accepted the setup without ever surfacing the total credit cost. I ran out of credits partway through and could not finish the project I had paid to build. Sometimes they are distorted when it's past 30 seconds. Facial features start to change and become inconsistent **What do you dislike about OpenArt?** It has been 3 full days of no response of lost work and nearly 15000 credits used. Twice I worked on something that suddenly disappeared from my assets or gallery with the new director program. The credits guzzled up is yet to be refunded. I reached out for help with recovery 3 days ago and have emailed since then yet no response. Note that the new creator AI "Ori" confidently said I could leave the work halfway done and continue later. Yes, I asked. Can someone please do something. Get me my videos or refund me or do both given how long I have been ignored? **What problems is OpenArt solving and how is that benefiting you?** Ability to create videos even though the experience can be gruesome ### 4. OpenArt is a very intuitive tool that allows those trained and untrained in editing/graphic work to produce professional and high quality images with ease.
