I like that Octave Imagine (ERDAS IMAGINE) can handle different tasks like remote sensing, photogrammetry, and lidar analysis all on one platform. It lets me build visual, graphical workflows for complex tasks like image classification and orthorectification without needing heavy coding. As a geologist, I use it to process multispectral data to map hydrothermal alteration zones, identify minerals through spectral signatures, and perform target detection using sub-pixel classification. It also helps in detecting anomaly zones and lithological mapping. Additionally, I can quickly create mineral composite and alteration maps using band math multispectral data. The initial setup was easy for me since I've been familiar with it since the 2012 version. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's an expensive software and time-consuming to process the multispectral data. My team is switching to ENVI and other software due to the price and need for more processing power of a computer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
