# Which Benefits Consulting firms deliver proactive renewal negotiations and documented cost reduction results?

I'm researching which Benefits Consulting firms actually document cost reduction results from proactive renewal negotiations, rather than just administering whatever plan a company already has. Same honest caveat as the last question, the Benefits Consulting category on G2 has very few reviews for firms that are major players in the real market.

G&A Partners Services: the strongest reviewed name here, with feedback touching on proactive account management as part of its broader HR services.

Mercer: known industry-wide for renewal negotiation and benchmarking work, though G2 doesn't have enough review volume here to independently verify documented results.

Aon Consulting: similarly well known for large scale renewal negotiations, with the same limitation of thin G2 review data.

OneSource Virtual: focused more on administration than negotiation specifically, worth pairing with a broker if renewal negotiation is the priority.

Given the review gap here doesn't match how central this work is to benefits consulting, has anyone actually gotten documented savings numbers from a renewal negotiation, and which firm delivered them?

On the documented-savings question, one caution about the documents themselves: renewal savings are always measured against a counterfactual, usually the carrier's initial ask, and initial asks are negotiable fiction that everyone in the room expects to come down. A firm can honestly report large savings against a number that was never going to stand. So the useful thing to request isn't the savings figure, it's the methodology: savings against what baseline, and what happened to plan design in the same breath, since a cheaper renewal that quietly shifted cost onto employees isn't the win it looks like on paper.
