However, with the help of OCS Inventory, we can now efficiently manage all our IT assets in real time. Inventory updates are instantaneous, and we are also able to push and deploy OS patches remotely. ### 4. It is free of charge, yet much easier to use and more reliable than some paid-for alternatives I have tried. **What do you dislike about OCS Inventory NG?** The tool itself is pretty basic, and you'll need to pair it with some additional software or write some scripts to make the most of it. The reports are relatively poor, and the UI could do with a refresh or redesign. **What problems is OCS Inventory NG solving and how is that benefiting you?** OCS allows me to efficiently and reliably perform a real-time inventory of all the discoverable machines (PCs and networked devices) present on the corporate LAN (local area network). ### 5. It's also practical to create agents for different operating systems in a personalized and unattended manner so that a client doesn't need to insert configuration parameters, thus facilitating the tasks of the company's Technology team, simply by sending an email to users and asking them to install the program. Now, the management of doing Deployment with the same tool is quite advantageous. The comprehensive exploration it achieves of every device is vital for when you want to manage good documentation of your organization's technological assets, the granularity with which it reaches each feature of each component is vital for decision-making, saving time and travel. We can even register mobile devices on the platform. Another thing we like about the tool is that you can scan your network and from there start capturing CI for your CMDB. **What do you dislike about OCS Inventory NG?** That it does not have a complete management application from mobile devices. **Recommendations to others considering OCS Inventory NG:** Ocs Inventory delivers everything that the best ITIL practices recommend. **What problems is OCS Inventory NG solving and how is that benefiting you?** Being an open-source tool, it benefits the business by not incurring expenses compared to other tools that do the same or less than this one. OCS Inventory is very comprehensive, and in the evaluation of tools, we agreed on this one due to its easy implementation, stability, and cost savings. ### 7.
