Nutanix Cloud Infrastructure (NCI) Reviews & Product Details

Easy 1-click upgrades of VMware ESXi (or Nutanix AHV) and their overarching AOS software. Lots of compute and storage in a small footprint. Having used HPE Simplivity in the past, Nutanix is much more mature. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Don't get as much deduplication ratio as competitors as it doesn't rely on accelerator cards etc. LCM (firmware) updates are not very optimised and often require manual intervention. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

easy of management, single stop shop to manage all computing, network and storage services, great live support, and live upgrade of system firmware, drivers and NOS without need to have any outage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

none, everything is going perfect with us Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Single pane of glass interface allows ease of administration, Life Cycle Management makes updating hardware and software a breeze. Unlike other solutions where searching for compatible drivers and software can make patch management a pain. Very effective migration tools, Nutanix Move, bring quick and simple VM migration activities that can be synchronized and scheduled to allow migrations to commence in a simple reboot of the VM. Particular vendors do not currently support Nutanix AHV hypervisor for virtual appliances. This is not a fault of Nutanix, but the vendors who remain unwilling to support Nutanix AHV. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I mostly deal with DR, so having the ability to use NCI for our Disaster Recovery is fantastic. It gives us accessibility locally and remotely. So far, it looks very secure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I always battle to navigate through the menus and find what I need, which is challenging and means making provision of time to navigate to get used to what is where. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I have not found a dislike worth mentioning. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Support assistance is amazing. Other thing that I like is the documentation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

With NCI, you get Prism Central free of charge to manage multiple clusters. You can also migrate your NCI license from on-premise to the cloud or the other way around, meaning you can have a Hyper-converged infrastructure on-premise or on the cloud. Also, please note that you get 1TiB free of Nutanix Files/Objects, the same as on AOS. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Previously, AOS (the licenses provided before NCI) came with your Nutanix hardware and are perpetual licenses. For NCI, the licenses are subscription-based, meaning you have to renew them after 3 or 5 years (depending on how many subscription years you purchase initially). But then again, you get the flexibility to migrate your workloads from on-premise to the cloud or vice-versa. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like about the best with Nutanix is it gives us less licenses to renew and less hardware to maintain plus Nutanix SRE are always there to supports us if there is an issue we are facing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The platform may not be compatible with all hardware, software and network configurations. Limited customization options and may not fully meet the specific needs of some organizations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Virtual private clouds (VPC) and other cutting-edge virtual networking constructs are combined in Flow Networking for AHV virtualization to bridge conventional and cloud-native network models. By using a software-defined approach, the infrastructure is made simpler and doesn't require pricey hardware segmentation solutions or more intricate and static physical network topologies. Not every port receives a data transfer through this. However, Flow Virtual Networking has various drawbacks, one of which is bandwidth waste, which results in the waste of resources from blocked ports. The second is that if a chosen link fails, no other link is chosen, unlike the link connected to a blocked port, as a blocked port is not capable of sending data.
